  1. Oh, so that's what IGN meant by "Shepard was more equipped than ever to get the job done"... [/innuendo]
  2. You can almost hear it thinking Wake up and pay attention to me! Feeling strangely listless and uninspired today. Maybe it's the short winter days? Went down to the cafe downstairs for a large Mocha. With caffeine, chocolate and cream it should cover all basic food groups.
  3. Back in time when I could still be bothered (these days I just pass them on to spamcop.net), I would "cross the wires" between scammers and put them in touch with each other. They are not the only ones who can fake email headers> I hope they had fun with each other
  4. This isn't an anything focused game. Every time someone asks why something in this game has been terribly implemented the response is "that isn't the focus of this game". You forgot a few things... Not translated into Basque language - Not the focus of the game Not released on the 25th of May - not the focus on the game Not adapted to Kinect interface - not the focus of the game Not playable on a persistent dedicated server - not the focus of the game Not released on iPhone - not the focus of the game Not made for Matt-C specifically - not the focus of the game ...and so on and so on. I think you've decided that it isn't what you want and you are feeling angry that other people might actually like it. Who knows, maybe the focus of the game is simply that it is fun to play for those who participated in the making of it, like just running around hack and slashing monsters and bosses while gathering increasingly powerful loot? On the other hand, without the game you would have missed out on all the fun you've had recently, hanging out here, insulting people, being all negative and trying to come up with new ways of elaborating on why nothing is right. You've probably spent more hours on that than many people spend on playing some AAA titles and ought to donate the amount of a full game to your favourite charity in return
  5. Saw Caprica (the tv series) in its entirety. Much better than I thought it would be.
  6. Guys... How about laying off the publisher bashing a bit. Yes, that goes for Interplay too (I've got a lot of fond memories of Interplay published games). Edit: @CutLock - why don't you try out the DSIII demo? By all accounts, it should be a similar (not saying the same) experience to the BG:DA games.

    The 90's really weren't a good decade
  8. Hehe... Boo! Yeah, just jesting
  9. In that particular order?
  10. I'm not going to nitpick your suggestions, but I think a "merger" is very unlikely. Half the names on your list are themselves on financial lifesupport (with disconnection looming) and the other half are not interested in mergers, only acquisitions (sp?) and liquidations after cherry picking the assets. I would love to see Obsidian picking up the "Black Isle" brand name from Interplay some day, even if just for self publishing smaller, lower budget crpgs for those who love all things old style
  11. Do you have Kotor1? I seem to remember a lot of players successfully copying the mss32.dll (Miles Sound System or whatever it is called) from the Kotor1 install folder and use in the Kotor2 installation folder.
  12. Only problem with that one is that Swiftech is doing the waterblock. They are the worst manufacturing quality I've seen on water blocks. Made the mistake of buying one once for my CPU. I took a look at it, the low production values, the screws that didn't quite fit and a few other things and threw it all in the rubbish bin. Bought EK products instead. If they had had somebody else making the blocks, I would probably have considered it. Ok, LadyCrimson made me curious as to how good it is, so I tried to buy the shiny new EVGA GTX 590 Hydro Copper, created an account on their (EVGA) webstore, put it in the cart and tried to check out... "we only ship in the US, Canada and Mexico" or some such >_ ...and no, Aussie stores don't stock it. So much for satisfying my curiosity
  13. What about the promotion to global mod. Would that be a slightly cleaner glass jar? It just means that the organ is pickled in Cognac rather than formaldehyde
  14. Persevere it is then
  15. Yay, welcome Tale
  16. Sounds like a bad Hollywood movie, but badass indeed From BBC: "Pun could never know how many enemies were attempting to overcome his position, but he sought them out from all angles despite the danger, consistently moving towards them to reach the best position of attack". They made the mistake of attacking a Gurkha and he went on a rampage, firing 400 rounds, 17 grenades and manually detonated a claymore at them, just to proceed to start beating them to death with his tripod when running out of ammo. Lucky for them he didn't get angry and drew his Kukri
  17. I hate to say this, but I'm struggling with this game. I'm not out of the prologue (at least, thats what I think what it is) and I just can't force myself to continue. One long linear trip of simple hack and slash (and an incredibly stupid "dodge the dragon flames" interlude) and little or none of that "magic feeling" of the atmosphere and ambience of the original. Does it get any better later?
  18. They aren't making Icewind Dale 3. They would want to make it though, but it's up to Atari who owns the license. Not to mention the dreaded current edition ruleset and setting. Do the Dales even exist anymore?
  19. I'll have to give that one a try some day. Gamersgate occasionally has it on sale. Best buy ever for me was an old C64 game called Lords of Midnight. First sandbox/open world game I ever played (and that was in 1984). The number of hours (thousands, lots of thousands) would put any MMO game to shame Still pull it out and play on ye olde emulator every now and then. Slightly on-topic, haven't played the demo yet (yeah, member of the PC master race gamer), but the last game I bought (The Witcher 2) was shockingly bad in the English voice acting. "Triss" in particular sounds like she is sitting in a chair and reciting lines of text with all the passion of an automated announcement system. Curious to see how it compares.
  20. You are not alone in that. I have a number of game titles myself, acquired over the last 20 years, that I wish I had never invested time and money in Some day you just wake up and you realise that it is just a recreational thing, passing some time with and not worth getting high blood pressure over. Doesn't mean that you have completely forgotten what it feels like to passionate about it, you just feel less passionate yourself about it.
  21. if you think they are bad here you shoulda seen them at the fallout:nv forum..my god..pretty much the game was golden and anyone that said different was troll..and all the problems with the game were just lies.. When you have been around long enough, you sort of recognise a universal pattern. Doesn't really matter which forum you hang out on, whether it be Bioware, Eidos, Obsidian, Bethesda, Paradox etc. You'll have a group of people who hang out because they are part of the community and sometimes like the games and generally facepalm at the excitement and nerd rage that occasionally is on display, you'll have a group of smug trolls thinking they are clever because their insults seems to go unnoticed (usually not worth responding to), you'll have the fanbois who worship the ground the developers work and think they can do no wrong, blatantly bad releases or not, and you'll have a group of (usually underage or otherwise immature) trolls that spam the forum with negative posts because they feel personally insulted that their particular wishes weren't considered (and then point out their own flood of posts as proof of all the negative feedback). Happens just about every time a game gets released, regardless of publisher and developer A psychology/sociology student would never run out of subjects to study on a gaming forum.
  22. EA or Lucasarts are signed up for 25+ titles to be released over the next three months. Which specifically to be revealed at E3. Lucasarts would possibly be most likely. It's been hinted that System Shock isn't included, which would seem to rule out EA. However, an EA employee was found winking on his twitter account. I like the Lucasarts idea because they've become increasingly fond of reviving old franchises lately after Sam and Max's episodic success. Monkey Island just seems more likely than Ultima. ...or x-wing, tie fighter etc.? One could always hope
  23. Yeah, naughty Nightshape! ... What did you do now?
  24. I knew all those ritual virgin sacrifices would pay off!!! Still, reading stuff like "the time is right to bring the game to a new audience" sends a chill down my spine though, considering how the Jagged Alliance franchise is being abused at the moment. Lets wait and see if they cast "Raise Dead" on their website, they might have more info on what their intentions are. The gaming gods knows, the later Carmageddons suffered under "time trial" missions and other stupid stuff.
  25. wth is this black hound? a mod? my Google Fu seems to be too weak, and even Josh won't answer me The name of "Project Jefferson", AKA "Baldur's Gate III" AKA "The Black Hound". A game whose development had progressed quite a lot before being cancelled by Interplay, due to Atari wrestling the license and rights to publish it away from them (I'm sure there is a certain irony in there somewhere), Edit: J.E.Sawyer was quite heavily involved in the game. Might still be a sore subject
