  1. Colour me stupid, but how the heck do you delete something from your Steam wishlist (besides the obvious answer of "Buy it")??? Doing a bit of googling, people seems to get the answer to just click delete below the name. My problem is... I can't find no delete button
  2. It's probably deliberate that it's called 'Goals' as in objectives, not bullet points on a formal quote.
  3. I first noticed the change on top of the forum sections (I don't really visit the kickstarter page that often). My first thought was "Nice, looks like Icewind Dales art direction".
  4. Those were great days to be a gamer Surprised that nobody likes (warning, click at your own risk to your sanity). One of many personal favourites from the time
  5. Because of the irony. Edit to add: I.e. because whatever they desire was somebody else's modern, streamlined games once.
  6. ...in the grim future there is only war. Personally I find it all a bit silly, especially since I bet a lot of the self proclaimed "traditionalists" have played crpgs for less than 25 years. A lost generation that fancy things like graphics instead of ascii characters and dialogue with other characters in the game, turn based combat with lots of popular mechanics ripped straight from the latest fad p&p game systems and all that radical modern stuff for kids.
  7. I think I'll go on hunger strike until we get JA2 and X-Com3 quality combat (screw the IE games), complete with destructible terrain! *sits down, sulks*
  8. I prefer The Severed Hand over Durlags Tower, but hey, anything even remotely in that vein would be welcome
  9. Just a guess (as in sheer speculation), but when you are in a state of war and a civil war at that, it wouldn't be a stretch of imagination that this fighter jet appearing your coastal installations and not being identifiable as friendly, it could have been your own renegade military personnel with an agenda. A number of high ranking officers had just defected at the time.
  10. I suspect that the Turkish ambassador might be a bit biased. Would have had more credibility if it had come from the Syrian ambassador For all their posturing, the Turkish military had trouble explaining why the wreckage was found in Syrian waters.
  11. *Cough* Google tells me the word I was looking for was "Guava", which is apparently something slightly different.
  12. Arghh... waiting for potions of Pepsi and Coca Cola and all their imagined benefits. Or what's their name, all the guano based energy drinks. Fatigue? Have a Red Taurus.
  13. Do they really need to have a "title" of their own? What if you can pick skills and feats/traits/whatever that can make your fighter do what a paladin does in traditional D&D? I'm probably hoping for more character build customization options than a larger number of traditional classes. I don't think this is mutually exclusive. I think you can have a flexible system and still include traditional subclasses without it being a huge drain on resources. Where the titles have importance is that when people choose these I guess iconic roles to play they want to have who they are reflected in the game. So for someone playing as a Paladin it would be frustrating for them if in-game they were reacted to as a standard healer cleric. The same would go for a bard, you want to be treated as a wandering minstrel rather than as a catburgler - does that make sense? Also in a text based game I can't see why this would be a problematic feature for them to include. After all it's largely a matter of typing 'Hello Lord-Knight' instead of 'Hello Holy Father' I imagine. Makes sense. I guess are preferences are just different Not sure if I can explain mine eloquently, but I prefer to be acknowledged for my actions (i.e. the faction reputation) rather than a preset class. If I show my ugly face and the villagers flee screaming away from me, I want to be because I've killed a larger number of "villager class" and so they have come to fear me, not because I picked "Barbarian" as my starting preset. I know it's not going to happen to that level of detail, but one could always hope.

  15. Paypal is only at $13,893.71 at the moment. https://twitter.com/obsidian Completely off topic, but I did laugh at this one on the twitter: "We might put in a code wheel or make you look up a word on page 20, paragraph 2. (Just kidding.)" Personally, I don't care about crafting and the cipher class doesn't appeal to me (I like barbarians). But damn, I want that adventurers guild hall very badly!
  16. Lots? On a serious note, I believe Obsidian is going to hand out templates and guidelines to help people at least starting down the right path. You are right though, fanfic is scary stuff. Fanfic writers may not necessarily be the ones putting up the big bucks (aren't poets and their like the ones always talking about starving artists?).
  17. Poof!... posts begone. Let's try and keep it less personal?
  18. Yeah. I did chuckle when I found a "Hammer of Lucerne" in one of my games (was it IWD2?).
  19. I once got on one of our clients budgets. I didn't know until somebody told me years later, that I drank as much coffee as their international sales and export office. Special purchase requisitions for more coffee had to be issued and authorised when I was staying there for longer periods of time
  20. Games don't always "bomb" because they are "bad". Sometimes the market potential is just overestimated. Stuff in quotes meant to be arbitrary, undefinable values.
  21. Carmageddon (GOG version). Gorth Pedestrianbane is roaming the city and has become the terror of the footpaths again. Quiver in fear all ye jelly-kneed footsloggers!
  22. I would imagine that most (if not all) people who are willing to fork out $1000+ has an interest in a good game, not an interest in trying to sabotage it.
  23. Thread pruned a bit. Don't like the idea? Fine. Don't like the poster? Keep it to yourself. Saves other people from getting 'Aggro'
  24. Old history (probably more than a week now)... Not sure if that was thread 21 or 22 Basically, it seems to attract the same immature individuals, each with their own agenda making intelligent, mature discussion very hard.
