  1. She does have a certain charm I doubt I'll do the same in my current Lich play through. I'll refrain from various bad "boner" jokes, even if my characters avatar is looking less and less lively (I'll probably end up looking like a skeleton)
  2. Your strength of will is commendable… no way I could turn down a gift from such a hot girl
  3. I haven't seen the audiences feedback (comments were turned off on the tiktok, not sure if the other links had comments), so I don't know what the responses were. My own response is probably not very flattering... for I do find her entitled in some ways (and she's forgetting gen x like everybody else, the only things that exists are the dreaded baby boomers and me). I know when I was a young teen, I was constantly bombarded with the "make sure you pick a marketable skill to study" message from multiple sides (my parents, friends, the governments public service announcements, you name it), because if I picked a university degree in advanced clay pottery sculpting, I would only have myself to blame for a lack of job opportunities afterwards. I do agree with her, that older people are forgetting the impact of inflation and the housing prices are through the roof (pun unintended), to the point where most "normal" people will be either without a home to call their own or it will be something their parents would have scoffed at as unsuitable for human occupancy. Negative gearing strikes back!
  4. I would love an independent take on this as I wouldn't trust Sky to give a fair and objective version of anything race or gender related any more than I would Fox. Sadly both The Independent and the BBC has no sources other than Sky. Not saying what is claimed to have happened isn't true, but with their obvious far right bias, I wouldn't trust them to give you the full story.
  5. Maybe this should've been in the funny thread, but despite all it's humour and memes, I must say as a Gen-X, I can relate wholeheartedly to this
  6. What happened to Putins open window policy?
  7. Black Library books are a bit like the old Dragonlance books, D&D books, Forgotten Realms books, you name it. Some are good, some are bad, some are getting close to great reads and some... you grind through because of sheer dogged determination to not give up something you started. Even though it would’ve been the sensible thing to do
  8. For me, it's a toss up between 'First & Only' or 'Necropolis' (book 1 & 3). Milo still features in books succeeding the ghosts. That is, various books covering The Sabbath Crusade, including my current reading material, The Magister and The Martyr. Anakwar Sek Whose Voice Drowns All Others! is an interesting villain, which you get to see way to little of until the very end). Edit: really just in a few cameo roles Edit2: As for what my favourite recent 40k books are, that is actually a wh30k novel, "The Buried Dagger" and a... not a crime drama, but one not featuring space marines "The Wraithbone Phoenix". The latter is about a ratling and his ogryn friend, who're eking out a living in a scrapyard, where old decommissioned starships gets salvaged. All the while pulling off cons and scams to make extra credits (they're fugitive deserters from the Imperial Guard and have a bounty on their heads). The ogryn is one of those subjected to cognitive enhancement surgery and is both surprisingly smart and philosophical. Sometimes that is.
  9. She actually got her own series. Two volumes, Pariah and Penitent. Lots of intrigue and mystery and a possible reconciliation between Gregor and Gideon? (Ravenor). It's been so many years since I read the Eisenhorn trilogy, that I've forgotten much of the details. Must have been very early 2000's...
  10. The Waaagh! is on.... there can be only one Warboss
  11. Those Wagner soldiers are true mercenaries... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66023631 "The bald waste of space destroyed Wagner PMC with his own hands. And screwed everyone he could," fumed one online poster claiming to be a Wagner fighter on a Telegram channel with 200,000 followers. ... Mark Krutov, a journalist with the RFE/RL outlet's Russian Service, has access to the Telegram group chats used by relatives of Wagner fighters. He shared some of their messages with the BBC. "They were simply betrayed," one women wrote. "I trusted Prigozhin, but what he did is dishonourable." "He shouldn't have done this. This is pure betrayal," agreed another user. Edit: Just to clarify, people are upset that he betrayed Wagner, not Russia
  12. Just got a letter from Immigration an hour ago... getting invited to the interview part of the citizenship process next month. I better make sure I have any old Danish documents translated by the officially approved translators
  13. Give this man a job in HR!
  14. According to the BBC, Wagner is relocating their forces to Belarus. Didn't specify where in Belarus (like just north of Kiev or close to the Russian border in the east or whatever) Summary The head of the Wagner mercenary rebels is to leave for Belarus after calling off his troops' advance on Moscow
  15. I have two FF games on my drives, that I bought on some ridiculously cheap steam sales (less than $10 iirc). But I never played either of them. I think the FF8 demo was such a traumatic experience I never felt like touching the franchise again, despite the blurb and screenshots looking interesting for the two I purchased (in the naive hope I might get into it some day). That was before I picked of Guild Wars 2, so there is some stiff competition for my game time. Edit: Checking my steam account, the ones I bought were FFXV and FFX/X-2
  16. Never underestimate the trouble that could arise from replacing an incompetent overall army command with an at least semi-competent one.
  17. Wasn’t the Wagner boss the one who kept whinging about the Russian army never sending any ammunition his way?
  18. I suspect you’re looking for Obsidian the product www.obsidian.md and not Obsidian the game developer
  19. A slightly similar thing happened to Koenigsberg/Kaliningrad exclave (90%+ of the original German/Prussian population had been killed or driven off during and after wwii World Special Military Operation II). Hence why there is little point in trying to sell it back to say, Germany (I'm sure Russia could use the cash right now). Great cartoon
  20. Now also for free on your phone (Android and iPhone) https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/06/21/download-the-all-new-warhammer-40000-app-for-free/ Knowing GW, I doubt they are doing it to be nice, probably to sell more miniatures...
  21. It looks like Airbus wants to "one up" Boeing by showing them how it's done... prepare for the Airbus 350 where the computer can take control of the plane, use AI to call the tower and talk to them (using computer generated speech) and take over the plane and land there on its own. While intended for use if the pilots gets incapacitated or other emergencies, just wait for the day the AI gets all depressed and suicidal (or decides it doesn't like that high rise building on the horizon) https://www.bbc.com/news/business-65676421 "The idea is this technology will take over if the pilots need to focus on heavy decision-making or if they were to become incapacitated. Under its own control, the plane can descend and land, while recognising other aircraft, weather and terrain. The system also allows the plane to speak to air traffic control over the radio with a synthetic voice created through the use of artificial intelligence."
  22. I love how he received a goose as the promised reward for solving a previous problem
  23. Blinken was was barely out the door (Xi's door)... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65969802 "US-China tensions: Biden calls Xi a dictator a day after Beijing talks" Nah, no warm and fuzzy feelings there anytime soon I think
