I'm not sure how well it holds up to modern recordings (recording quality), but dang I listened to a lot of Accept during the early 80's.... first bought their albums on vinyl and later on cd during the latter part of the 80's, gradually phasing out my old vinyls as cd's became available

Edit: What could make both the people living in Donbas and the government in Ukraine happy? I can't really see any compromises, that would ensure long lasting peace.

Regill didn’t stick around for my trickster game, but my barbarian was also very chaotic. He didn’t seem to appreciate that I’ll probably miss Seelah and her trusty steed Sybian, but that is Ok. I might still not be lawful enough for Regill when the time comes. He’s already being pushy, I have to go meet his buddies. Sometimes you just find a game, that somehow comes to personify an age or a genre for you. For me, there are a handful of games that despite being 30 years old are my "go to" games for different reasons. To this day, I still use a C64 as well as an Amiga emulator to play games that never made it to PC in a for me playable form (Lords of Midnight by MIke Singleton, Ultima IV by "Lord British", Elite by Bell/Braben, Carriers at War by SSI, Mech Warrior, Defender of the Crown etc.) as well as old PC games that runs on dos emulator like Gygax' War in Russia and Master of Orion 2 by Microprose and yes, also some "newer" games that runs on Windows like the original X-Com trilogy and Jagged Alliance 1+2. To be fair, if I wanted the original Elite experience, I should find an Acorn BBC-B emulator and the original BBC version But like the above history, sometimes, just sometimes you run into something that feels like a worthy successor. I had a similar feeling with Xenonauts after lamenting the inability of games developers to make proper X-Com type games (as in, I felt like celebrating and played it to death for a while, satisfying this deep seated need for something that felt like X-Com and I hope JA3 will be a similar experience) Edit: Forgot to mention a game like HoMM3, which to some degree got a similar game in Disciples II

It solved itself for me, because it went off sale. No urgency anymore, I'll wait for the "release" version. I suspect it's a good thing too, as the first game was one of those addictive just one ore turn before going to bed games So unless they completely messed up the second game, I expect it's going to be a time killer.

I ended up buying JA3 on GOG. I hope I get some time to start playing this weekend... Sorely tempted by the early release Xenonauts2, if nothing else because it's 25% off. Just not keen on buying early releases of any game

This... it's not like he has 30 games to talk about, but dang, between his pre-Fallout games to Outer Worlds, the amount of information about life as a game designer and developer is something people could only dream of knowing 20 years ago.

I just noticed my phone consistently replaced 'undead' with 'under' Hmm... I can't remember if my current party has the triceratops. I know my barbarian had it, but I'll check when I next play the game

I never really worked out what would've been the "optimal" minion for my Necromancer/Lick. I picked the tanky guy, as I assumed being squishy would be my biggest problem. It seems to repurpose the "mount" interface, except you can't actually put a saddle on your minion and ride on him. Could've been fun I suppose Back to traversing the wound, solving side quests, while progressing the HoM&M mini game. This time a bit more optimal, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of generals (and also not getting too attached to any of the armies, as I know I may have to go recruiting again in the later part of the game). Hordes of zombies and skeletons are great damage sponges, but they are a pain to maintain in any way, as heal army spells damage them and vice versa. So, I started to just sacrifice them and not worry too much about them (sending them all to one giant blob army of zombies and skeletons in the middle of the map). Maybe they turn out useful at some point, even if just as door stopper. Still learning how to use summons (various under npcs) to fight for you in a combat, as there are quite a few options. Pre-summoning, raise fallen enemies, etc. Did have some success with a few under enemies that were very hard for my barbarian, simply being "charmed" to fight for me a turn every now and then. Edit: I also have the corpse of the dwarf renegade whatshisname in the dungeon. Not sure he ages like fine wine, but I guess he will serve a purpose later...
