They have a hospital called Fish Memorial... seriously (and this wing commemorates the unknown sardine) ? As for the guy, somebody probably said something like you need a shrink and he heard it as shrimp.

Yeah, easy for you to say with your insider knowledge!!!

Still playing SWTor when I get a few spare minutes. Usually 30-45 minutes at a time. Caved in and forked out millions of in-game credits for a big lizard mount. I'm sure my Sith Juggernaut is going to look imposing riding into battle on it. I would have preferred a War Mammoth with spiky armour and a howdah for him to sit on, but it's the next best thing I suppose. Edit: Slightly unrelated, but I checked my Origin client and noticed it was several updates behind. It also started updating a number of games, including DA2. Anybody know what the hires texture pack thing is (it was free)?

Famous last words in software development: "How hard can it be?..." Not joking (much). One of the few types of comments that makes me foam at the mouth are accusations of "lazyness". You don't get to the top of the food chain in software development by being lazy or incompetent. In my own (entirely anecdotal) experience, when a project turns to a nightmare, it's not a single individual or even a single team that go wrong, it's something much bigger involving the entire synergy of the whole team. Yeah, that was probably a bit off topic

No tips. Wishing you luck though

Pixar are fantastic at imbuing animated characters with "pesonality".

I wouldn't even know what kind of bait to use to trap a can of tuna... Civilisation FTW

Gamescom Previews
Gorth replied to C2B's topic in South Park: The Stick of Truth: General Discussion
I wonder if they have been on some kind of European tour. A number of German language previews popping up lately -
...and for those who understands German, there is a (just a little) bit of elaboration on some of the combat mechanics

Maybe the maker packed up and left eons ago, leaving the universe to its own devices?

Hmm, only books I've read, written by game developers were the Deepgate Codex trilogy (Alan Campbell, former Rockstar employee). I think I made sarcastic comments at the time about the third book, as it could only have been written by a game developer. Great intro, excellent middle part and absolutely sucky deus-ex-machine ending. I think that was even before ME3's ending First two and a half book were great though.

Congratulations Justin

Can't say I've ever heard of such a thing Have had very few technical issues (not including in-game bugs, most of which are already listed on the known issues list that google took me to once. The few I've had went away with the "repair" option (and Nar Shaddaa is a frequently visited place for most characters, both early and late in the game). Only known and frequent issue (frequent, as in always happens) is the hyperspace crash on Black Talon and what's its name either boarding party or the the one just after which crashes you to desktop. For some reason, the latter is not on the known issues list.

Bad, bad Orogun... Thread has long since exceeded traditional length. Seems like a good point for a new chapter. Next Chapter

Besides my human main guy (my Powertech/tank build), the next in line to reach level 50 is my cyborg trooper The latter (a Commando healer build) is best in a group though (and I also play solo most of the time). I noticed it in particular with the Bounty Hunting event when going solo against the henchmen. He's great at supporting and has some nice area effect weapons, but it's all things that do less damage to more targets rather than taking a single target down fast. Unfortunately, his companions aren't quite geared up yet to do enough damage, so he can just heal those and then let them do the damage. Edit: 3rd in line for reaching "end game" is probably my Chiss sniper at level 38. Edit2: Speaking of bounty hunting, got 2 kingpin contracts (plus 1 kingpin taken down and another that kicked my butt royally, taking the total to 4) and 5 henchmen contracts in my inventory. Not too shabby for a week long event I think

Wasn't Fire Warrior that infinitely boring, linear corridor shooter featuring Tau, released a long time ago? I remember trying it for 20 minutes on a console. Then had to stifle a yawn and do something else to wake up again.

I'm guilty of supporting the cartel market. Bought two hypercrates. The lizard would have been nice, but wasn't really the goal. Sold most of the content (except a few armour pieces) on the GTN. Made 5 million in-game credits in 24 hours. That's a *lot* of crafting material (and schematics) I can buy from the market. So yeah, it is a "splurge for convenience" thing acting as a money sink for real life money.

I was sort of the opposite. It took PS:T to get me to eventually warm to BG1. Didn't like BG1 when I tried it at first, but then I picked up that big orange and blue box one day from a store shelf. Gaming was never the same again. Got BG2 when it came out and loved it. Long, long after, went back and completed BG1. The latter is still my "least" favourite of the bunch though. PS:T probably offered the best single session experience and BG2 the most replayability (and IWD the most fun encounters). I'm sure other peoples mileage varies.

Turnaround time for fixes *does* seem quicker where the cartel market is concerned

Eh, question not quite understood They are a set of missions different from the usual space missions. I.e. kill x number of frigates, destroy battleship and space station and x boss ships (in one mission) etc. The one I finished had you escort a prototype bomber to it's goal, then blow up the bridge of a battle ship, kill 3 jedi (boss) ships while actively dodging ridiculous amounts of incoming fire. The latter is the hard part, because you need to aim the photon torpedo while dodging with your wasd keys The one I didn't complete (yet) has you destroy a space station, a battle ship and 8 oversized defence sattelites while constantly zig-zagging through a 3d maze of cargo containers (while dodging boss ships and heavy fighters).

Succeeded in my first heroic space mission in swtor Ok, so it was probably one of the easier ones (a bomber escort mission). Just to test if it was luck or a fluke, I completed it a second time (got slightly sloppy and only survived by the skin of my teeth). Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Then I tried a second mission and got killed several times. Not by enemy gun fire but by all those crates somebody left floating in space

Doesn't sound so strange Gromnir. Would be strange if there was a popular rpg that you didn't at least check out (not the same as investing time in playing, I know) I wonder what server that is? My main character actually ended up in a "fun" guild. It could be a time zone thing of course, only a handful of guild people logged on as the same as I, but they are so bizarre and surreal, it's hard not to smile. As for drama. Lesson #1, stay away from the fleets (please, oh please Bioware, can we have mod stations on our ships???) , if you absolutely have to go there to mod your armour or pick up daily missions (quests and rewards), switch off general chat. Lesson #2, real life couples are 3 out of 4 times more trouble than they are worth if you end up in pugs. When you vote kick one for being an utter jerk and moron, you effectively lose half your flashpoint group (I've experienced exactly ONE exception to that while playing). Lesson #3, 'Ignore' is your friend. Use it frequently and use it liberally. Makes for a much better experience. I just wish Bioware would get their butts in gear and solve the problem of it being per toon instead of account wide (if I don't like another real person, I awant all my toons to ignore all his toons). Anyway, my main character is now level 54 and finally got his 5th companion (yeah, I know, that's rather late for his level, but that is what you get for lack of experience and just grinding and grinding etc. in the beginning. Now started to gear up the companions too. Took out 4 world bosses so far together with a lower level sniper guild member (just helping with the gearing up). Hassat was right, a number of those, you can actually "solo" if geared up appropriately. Edit: Scratch that, make it 9 out of 10 instead.

Minigames killed AP for me. Never made it out of the "tutorial" level. Too much banging head against desk. Sad but true
