What are you playing right now?
I haven't played EU4 as much as I wanted to, something always seems to get in the way. Memorable countries that I played in EU3 were Denmark (being from there Originally), Muscowy (recreating most of the later Czar's empire) and besides being a big challenge, also very rewarding, having played the Timurids and transitioning to more stable goverment forms and founding the Mughal empire was very different from always playing powerful European countries. Having luck on my side didn't hurt either, as you are initially very vulnerable every time your leader dies (internal power struggles and rebellions), so neighbours already locked in war with each other at the right time definitely helped.

What You Did Today
A Tale with no happy ending? Not the kind of stories I need to hear being the driver of a newly leased car...

What are you playing right now?
The game looks interesting and I was about to put it in my cart at one time, until I read the review saying "Reinvents the 4X genre, mirroring what XCOM did for tactical turn-based games" and then it promptly flew out of my cart again. Would love to see some impressions of the game

Vidgy Game Soundtracks
Ah, Ultima. That brings back memories. Primitive by todays standards, but back in the mid 80's I could listen to the music for hours without turning down the volume.... http://youtu.be/2aHO6V2s_6s Edit: Sadly I lost my original box over the decades. Had the one with a cloth map and a little plastic Ankh in it

The Funny Things Thread
Start of old thread End of old thread Normally I couldn't care less about golf, but this one did stand out in a crowd of hole-in-one's... BBC Sport It's not just the one in a million hole in one, it's so bizarre you would think it was special effects teams playing against each other. Youtube version (in case BBC Sport videos is not available in your country) http://youtu.be/Z2sRu1NXo1s

The "Cool" Images Thread
Just out of curiosity, who decides what is acceptable within a community forums. Do the rules come down from the main company or is it left to the community manager, I guess i'm trying to fish as to whom made the decision to ban "girl" images from the forum. I wouldn't want to put you in a compromising position and I will fully understand if you dodge that question but it still makes me curious as to who decides what culture a forum will have. The "basic" rules comes from above if you want. I.e. no discrimination, no explicit nudity etc. The rest is left to the moderators. As for the pretty woman thread, you can thank those people who simply had this compelling urge to see how far they could go instead of trying to stay on topic and post pictures of pretty woman. It was given a lot of chances and people failed consistently to self moderate. Nothing more complicated than that really.

What are you playing right now?
Start of old thread End of old thread When not playing swtor, I've had a few more goes at Mordheim (fun games, just don't try to do too long sessions), Dishonored (which I'm surprising myself by actually liking) and the odd game of Master of Orion 2 (one of my all time favourites, long live dosbox!)

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
I finally got around to play through the latest chapter yesterday evening on one of my many alts. Must say I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure it holds up after repeated playthroughs, but it was quite entertaining the first time. The Alliance Alert recruitment mission was fun too, who would have thought all that time playing Zork would pay off? Only downside was, I couldn't care less about the new Dashade. Off to the freezer with him again, waiting for the real Khem to come back. I'm sure he misses his "Little Sith".

Panama papers leak
Average Danes move abroad to dodge taxes Serious answer: It happens automatically. Part of your pay goes in the bank, part of it goes to "The Tax Man", which includes state, county and council taxes. You never see that part of your pay. Since all Danes have a serial no. (called CPR No.) from birth and every transaction you do short of a few dollar cash transactions at the ice cream vendor, are traceable to your serial no. Makes it relatively easy to detect irregular patterns. I.e. if you keep spending large amounts above your declared income.

Switzerland is less likely to be the subject of US military intervention... As for the lack of outrage, I'm guessing it's because it's something everyone expected and assumed and a confirmation is just a nice extra, not a startling revelation.

Obsidian's creative direaction
NWN2 isn't the worst mainstream game I've played, but the original campaign was as bad a mix of up and downs as mass effect 3. Some very good parts, some very dire parts (the UFO Enemy Unknown remake probably holds the title of worst "mainstream" game played the last 5 years for me). As for Obsidian, I think (as in entirely subjective) they are better off betting on all horses. Being an independent studio without gold egg laying hens, they need those games that sells mixed with those they desire to make for other reasons than the entirely financial considerations. I.e. keep pitching titles to major publishers, smaller publishers and hopefully a few more self funded smaller titles until they might be able to self fund more ambitious titles. Not sure how they would pull off the latter without losing their identity though, as mass appeal usually means a lot of compromise in the creative direction.

Who collects Comics ?
I used to be an avid comics collector. Never cared for the 'super hero' stuff though. Most of it was from the "French/Belgian" school of comics (Rosinski/Van Hamme, Herge, Mezieres, Uderzo/Goscinny, Giraud, Franquin, Peyo etc.) or Spanish language translations (Jodorowsky/Gimenez, Segrelles) At the time I was limited to what was translated into my first language, as my French was never really that good. Edit to add a few names that might be more recognisable for English speaking audiences: Smurfs, Asterix, Blueberry, Tintin, Incal, Linda and Valentin, Iznogood, Thorgal, Lucky Luke to name a few. Edit2: Because I never realised Jodorowsky was Chilean and not Spanish.

my new car
Got myself a car. Didn't buy one, just leasing it. A nice little compact Audi A1 sports model with a built in SatNav (which was really it's main selling point for me). First time I've had a car in 15 years. I miss having a motorcycle, but the weather just isn't that pleasant during the winters here in Europe.
