Start of old thread End of old thread you got a serious advantage over shady when it comes to improving push ups. takes real effort for shady to make gains, but since you has only done once in decades, your gains would/should come much faster. is always a bright side. HA! Good Fun! Heh, add me to the list of the "needy"... I used to go to a Gym, just for 2 hours twice a week, but dang, I can *feel* it, that it's been 6 months since I moved (and haven't rejoined a gym), The curse of age. It's like the maintenance work just becomes more and more demanding

Start of old thread End of old thread Continuting the news.... and just a reminder. There are already other threads about Epic Games and if a specific thread about the subject is lacking, by all means, create a relevant topic for the subject, so lets move further discussions about the pro's and con's there? Basically, leave the troll posts at the entrance please.

More Guild Wars 2... not so much my little Asura engineer showing off the shield on his back (although it's nice, especially the animated water, wonder how it keeps refilling itself???) It's my excitement about the achievements nearing completion in the upper right corner. The two top ones will give me a mastery point each, exactly what I need to have fully unlocked all "Central Tyria" abilities. The connection to the shield being, I need those two mastery points to learn tier 4 legendary recipes so I can finish the legendary precursor shield he's wearing. Once completed (in some distant future), it will also feature a Quaggan who has made his home inside the shield. ("Out of Cluck" is an achievement for killing all the chickens in a specific Fractal) Edit: What the finished shield looks like from the wiki page: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shooshadoo -
SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)

Rumours about a Swtor live action movie/series since Disney really wants a return on their LA investment... Disney reportedly planning Knights of the Old Republic show -
Majorly disappointed, but I'll add it to the list of things to do in 2020 (like Borderlands 3) when available elsewhere. Found this interview snippet from Boyarsky from about a month ago: "You have these robber barons at the turn of the 20th century. A couple of hundred years later, what if we still have that culture. The corporations have pretty much taken over everything." Just seemed to fit the occasion somehow... losers in the end are the people who have no real choices but what corporations to support.

Not sure I would like a CEO running my country when he has 6 corporate bankruptcies and billions of lost dollars (mostly other peoples dollars) as his CV Latest ancestry check did showed that I was of 50% male and 50% female origin. Who would have thought???

Steam may not be perfect, but at least I can understand their business and motives (cornering the market and greed). Epic.... with Tencent owning 40% is a bit more obscure. If backed by the Chinese government, they can offer developers/publishers the kind of money that privately owned corporations are struggling to compete with, because their ultimate motive may not be profit from games sales.

Speaking of Epic ... I guess the new Epic "panic" is from some twitter remarks Pitchford made regarding Epic a few months ago. So folks are drumming up fear that BL3 could be Epic exclusive. Rather counting eggs before they hatch but I can understand why ppl are worried, with all these exclusivity stories. The actual tweets: https://mobile.twitter.com/DuvalMagic/status/1070125621785714688 Ah, that would be a shame if it ended up there. Not fear, just disappointment as I would have loved to play the game, but it's not the end of the world missing out on a game

I think it's hilarious, that if the UK applies for an extension to the Brexit date, they will have to field candidates for the European Parliament... which they may not be a part of 3 months later. Politics... the gift that keeps giving.

You have to give it to the Sylvari, they make for some incredibly illustrious and colorful characters with a bit of care. -
This is bad.... I'm old enough to remember 'Clippy' and can now just imagine the sales pitch for 'Clippy 2' - with skill trees and user choices that matters! Edit to add: Games I do remember with Microsoft as a publisher... Age of Empires, Jade Empire, Mass Effect... and maybe not a game, but dang, I spent a lot of time flying around the Flight Simulator

Too sophisticated for you?

For me, it's very simple. The friends I play online games with love Steam. That means we games we play online, are either MMO's or Steam based for the ease of use when teaming up for co-op games. If a multiplayer/co-op game doesn't fit one of those 2, it will get the pass from us and we will look for other games. Not because of any love for Steam, but because it's just games and none of us likes to have many launchers installed. I'm the "worst" of the bunch because I have Origin installed besides Steam. No Ubi stuff, no Battlenet, no whatever. Edit: That included a bit of a half truth as I did have battlenet installed for a while when trying out the free version of WoW. It disappeared together with Wow again.

In which case.... bye bye sale

From left to right, top row... Human Scourge (Necromancer), Sylvari Reaper (Necromancer), Human Chronomancer (Mesmer - think illusionist/sword master combo), Asura Holosmith (Engineer), Charr warrior (base warrior class) Sylvari Tempest (Elementalist), Human Mirage (another Mesmer), Human Druid (Ranger specialization), Norn Berseker (warrior) and lastly Norn Firebrand (Guardian). Humans are... humans Asura are diminutive rat like beings with too much IQ for their own good, they got the egos to match Norn are 3 meter tall human like beings Charr are ferocious, cat like beings, totally committed to their legions Sylvari are the youngest race in the setting, the first ones awakening about 25 years ago, spawned by The Pale Tree, who is the mother of all Sylvari The game has so much lore, so much background material and a very expansive wiki. Took me months just to get a basic overview. Fascinating world though. Edit: The basic premise is a bit like Mass Effect, a race of ancient, all powerful Elder Dragons wake up, destroy the world and devour all magic energy, become dormant when it's all gone in a repeating, millennium long cycle. In the base game, they are either stirring or just awakened and as the player, you need to create alliances to pool the forces of all factions, races, orders etc. to beat the first opponent. -

Just like when I played swtor, I seem to have this habit of creating alts in Guild Wars 2, more alts, many more alts... way too many alts I thought it could be fun to put just *some* of them next to each other, comparing sizes and appearances (and practice my image editing skills). Not all classes represented, just the most used characters at the time of writing. Yeah, those game character editors are worse than Sarlacc pits -
New controller, but I'm just clumsy with it
Gorth replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
Nier: Automata is where I "re-learned" to use a controller. I used it for some PC games years ago but then reverted to mouse/keyboard for a while Edit: I did take a bit of practice to get used to the dual stick control again, one stick controlling character movement and one stick controlling your point of view and aim -

What I get from the article so far is, Napoleon was the best baseball player Edit: On a serious note, a good general for me is one that given the context and circumstances, can achieve the stated goals at the least cost to his own side. Some do it by out thinking their opponents on the day, some do it through long term planning, some do it through sheer recklessness and some through sheer luck. I know, no such thing as luck in war, but some make their own luck by stacking odds in their favour

The not so subtle art of auto-foot-shooting.... Trump dealt blow as US trade deficit jumps ... Instead, Donald Trump goes into the presidential re-election race having failed to deliver on his campaign promise to close the US trade deficit. Part of the problem is Mr Trump's own tax policies. They boosted US consumption and a lot of that spending went abroad. This happened as growth was slowing in other parts of the world, contributing to a rising dollar. That made US exports more expensive and less competitive. ...

I wanted to buy that game on Steam.... especially at 50% off. Almost did it when I noticed it said uses 3rd Party DRM, Denuvo (sp?). Bought a few other, smaller games instead ("The Turing Test" and "Space Rangers HD: A War Apart")
