  1. Read the reviews above and elsewhere. All compain that its irrelevant Act II content when we actually wanted to see what happens after Act III. Quite so. As much as I want to support cRPGs, I think I'm going sit this one out.
  2. Actually, the game gets easier in late stages, so I definitely think you want to up that difficulty. What's your party configuration like? If you want more micromanagement, why not play more casters etc?
  3. Quite so, quite so. I find romance works better when things happen in your head or in the background. For example: Two attractive individuals travel together, so you would assume that they bond and develop affection for each other. It mostly unfolds in your head, perhaps supported by a few good moments onscreen. But when you try to force that whole relationship / process onscreen into a text-tree conversation? Cringe ensures.
  4. Uh... that's a creative question. In most RPG settings, I don't think their grasp of human biology (or the science of bodybuilding) is that great, but I assume that the local village healer/priest will help you out if you injury yourself while training. Now, how about mages? You'd think people would be hiring them for magical solutions to all their problems. Could a mage curse away a person's acne for example?
  5. Tyranny has been out of my mind for so long that I don't know how to feel about this expansion. Also, there doesn't seem to be any major selling points. Just... more story.
  6. I also miss Qistina. What a fascinating, conflicted personality. Till the end, I never knew if she was serious or trolling. I hope she's doing well.
  7. Well, the nice thing about playing a game fresh from beta is that no one knows what they're doing. Also, having bought into the beta, I plan to come here and brag
  8. I don't really understand the poll but... it's not big deal for me, though I prefer female characters (despite being male) when given the choice. I just find them more aesthetically pleasing.
  9. Very viable. While backstab won't be an option, I think they'll live a lot longer and healthier than a close range rogue (rogues are delicate after all). But thematically speaking, I'm not sure if Legolas is very rogue-ish And the party balance seems fine. Not too melee heavy at all.
  10. The thought of a Wael Godlike who is always surrounded by mist amuses me. You could play a naked Godlike who just has a convenient strip of mist censoring his/her nether regions. Or a steamy Godlike who always looks like they've just left the sauna.
  11. Playing Starcraft Remastered now. Yup, there's a walk down memory lane. Never thought I'd ever replay the Starcraft 1 campaigns. Now we can only pray for Warcraft 1&2 remakes (will never happen though...).
  12. You know, looking at the guns and bombs in the last backer update, I think Obsidian could easily use this engine to do an Arcanum sequel. Just invent one or two more machine/gun based classes, add some dwarves and elves in spiffy Victorian suits, and *boom* you got Arcanum 2: Return of the Machine Lords.
  13. Really? But... isn't she from somewhere more... snowy? I thought the Deadfire is all tropical.
  14. lol, yup, I hope they'll fix that before the final version. Those firing squad effects are awesome. I've never been much of a gun guy, but that makes me want to create a Napoleonic era British army party. PS Once again, why aren't we getting backer emails anymore? Or is it just me?
  15. How about cool summoned suit of armor to go with all the weapons? I mean, "mage armor" is a classic DnD spell, but it would be cool if an actual magical suit of armor appeared. I think that would really motivate people to play "warrior" mages.
  16. Yeah, basically they wanted both groups to be jerks. So Disfavored are bigots, but pretty restrained, whereas the Scarlet Chorus accepted anyone but... they kind of kill, rape, and torture. Anyways, I kind of get where OP is coming from. I remember vaguely thinking there were a lot of female soldiers in that game. But that's about it, really. Nothing more sinister than that.
  17. Yeah, the first gunslinger novel was nice and concise. But later books fell into Wheel of Time / Fantasy Must be Longwinded syndrome (Note how the books keep getting thicker in that series) and I lost interest. Also, color me amused that Guard Dog recommends The Dog Who Could Fly
  18. Ninja Theory made DmC: Devil May Cry. Despite all the hate emo Dante got, I really enjoyed that game. Anyways, i just finished Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. You control five characters (basically: ninja, thief, samurai, female fatale, and sniper), and you sneak around and kill people in ancient Japan. I know there are hundreds of ninja stealth games on the market these days, but this one is pretty good, if a drop frustrating while you're learning the ropes.
  19. What you described for rangers already exists in PoE1. Apart from Maia's bird, I don't think we're getting anything new there. Now, I would absolutely love the option to create a summons based wizard, but apparently this is not to be. Even in the old infinite engine games, summoning was limited... *sigh*. How about a succubus summon? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  20. I know what you mean. Cloak and dagger with... a cloak and dagger feels better But so far, their whole design philosophy has been to avoid class limitations, so I doubt they'll change now. Still, I'm also looking forward to the better stealth. It adds a whole new tactical dimension to the game.
  21. Abydon and Wael would be pretty interesting, I agree. I can sort of picture the latter as a Residents member (though, not really). I can't really picture what a Wael Godlike would look like though. I mean, the Gods based on natural concepts are relatively easy. But for the Gods based on human concepts (Wael, Skaen & Woedica), it's a bit more tricky to come up with. Also, considering how mysterious Wael is, I'm not sure he would make Godlikes. He'd prefer to keep people guessing Yeah, Devil of Caroc is my idea of an Abydon Godlike.
  22. OMG, that looks like an awesome city! Just take my money already, I must play this game!
  23. *shrugs* Not sure why this idea puts you off. If most players remove the minions and a few try a bigger challenge, doesn't that mean everybody wins? I suppose I just see dragons as "loners". Proud, majestic beasts that don't associate that much with other creatures. If you want to have a "throne room" where the baddie is surrounded by his subordinates, then there are lots of much better options. But yeah, I suppose its fine if an ice dragon summons ice spirits.
  24. Yeah. I know. It's easy to miss. Especially if you talked to him in WM1 and didn't bother talking to him again after WM2 was installed. Anyway, enjoy it. Zahua's a fun guy.
  25. Yeah, I get the design reason, but unless there's a storyline reason why the dragon has an army hanging out with him (like Xaurips worshiping him), it still feels excessive. If it's impossible to come up with more creative boss encounters, then how about an option for the player to do something (stealth or quest) to get the dragon alone? People who beat up the dragon and his minions together can get a shiny Steam medal or something, whereas us crafty dragon-slayers can do the logical thing and corner him alone.
