  1. Josh has said the month delay was to fix bugs, so hopefully it won't be as bad as all that. Of course, it's always wise to hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
  2. Thanks for the ideas guys. I agree that Berath is a little all over the place philosophically speaking --> Living for a long time is bad, but resurrecting your local tyrant lord as an undead champion is okay? The priest/chanter doesn't work too well anyway. Repeatedly buffing minions is a tedious playstyle, especially when they disappear in a few minutes anyway. Virtually everything else works, though. You can pretty much do whatever once you have a minion meat shield. Still miffed that the Beckoner summons midgets though. I would have preferred the opposite. Let the Beckoner summon one giant skeleton. That would be epic.
  3. How are you gentlemen. We had a thread for building a "dark knight" type character the other day, how about a necromancer themed character? How would you go about that? I was thinking either chanter/mage or chanter/priest of Berath, with sneak to lurk in the shadows maybe. What do you think would work best? (In terms of theme and effectivity)
  4. Yeah, the white haired chick would make a sweet monk character.
  5. Haha, I also loved NWN2, but I don't think anything is going to happen around here. You should probably make your pleas at the Beamdog forums.
  6. lol, thanks, I was just looking for the link to the latest stream.
  7. Yeah, that's a common sentiment at the moment. There's another thread about it here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/96603-beta4-new-passives-are-scams/?hl=%2Bnew+%2Btalents&do=findComment&comment=1990557 Personally, I'm just happy the talent trees are less bare now. It's a step in the right direction.
  8. lol, same. Beat the titan with ease, but then got killed by the sand blights. How embarrassing!
  9. I think rogue is the best choice. A ranger could work, unless you're playing a soul blade, because I think that's melee only. Wizard seems an odd choice to me. How about monk? Between the helwalkers ability to raise might and the soul whip, you should get some good damage.
  10. Sure, I'd pretty much play anything built with the same engine/gameplay style. And yeah, I would get more excited about running a ship if we were talking about a space ship instead That's basically what The Mandate promised before it died (*sigh* and I backed that game...)
  11. Oh, for sure. I'd love to play a Rymrgand priest... or an Ice-Godlike for that matter. I think they simply haven't had time to make those yet. I mean, for Deadfire, they needed 3 sub-classes for every class, so priests (which already had 5) took a backseat. We can always hope for Pillars of Eternity 3.
  12. I can understand how people could feel the same way as you around the general point " surly offensive language is just words and cannot physically hurt someone so surly this sentence is extreme " This lady has been charged with Crimen injuria...technically she isn't being charged with racism but here is the definition "Crimen injuria is a crime under South African common law, defined to be the act of "unlawfully, intentionally and seriously impairing the dignity of another."[1]Although difficult to precisely define, the crime is used in the prosecution of certain instances of road rage,[2] stalking,[1] racially offensive language,[3] emotional or psychological abuse[4] and sexual offences against children.[5] The Truth and Reconciliation Commission heard numerous cases of crimen injuria, usually coupled with assault, committed by intelligence services on both sides of the struggle against apartheid. " If you watch the video and the way she was ranting and verbally attacking the police officer she is definitely guilty of that So this law lumps "offensive language" and "sexual offences against children" together? That seems... broad. So, are you arguing that she deserves that sentence?
  13. I haven't been home in ages, but this just seems crazy to me. I know I'm stating the obvious here, but hateful ranting doesn't physically harm anyone. No one was physically hurt. No property was damaged. No one lost anything. Yet this is deserving of jail time? I think everyone just needs to get some perspective. Of course, I suspect that getting caught on video was her primary mistake. It might not have gone as far without that viral evidence.
  14. Nice thread, it brings back memories. - In Vampire Bloodlines, there were so many quests that were awesome (including the haunted house quest mentioned earlier). I suppose more than the actual quest contents, this was very much thanks to the writing. Each quest in Bloodlines had a really rich story to it and you met interesting people. - I loved the Dark Brotherhood questline in Oblivion. Apart from the fact that wearing black cloaks and assassinating people is a power fantasy, I like that you have to murder someone in cold blood to get in and that they ask you to kill people in unique ways. - NWN2. I liked the whole trial section that ended with a one-on-one duel. You get to use all your talking skills in the trial, but then finish it with an epic 1v1. Real Game of Thrones stuff there. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
  15. Yeah, a choice would be nice. Say... ransom back the passengers for some extra money and reputation loss or kill everyone for no reputation loss.
  16. Cheesing is in the eye of the beholder. My opinion: If it's a single player game, who cares what you do?
  17. Thematically, the Bleak Walker is the closest to a dark knight. Then add some lore so he can use scrolls for spells. Honestly though, maybe you're better of waiting for Deadfire. With the new multiclassing system, you'll be able to build a sweet death knight character.
  18. I don't agree with all the changes, but they were all made for logical reasons. For example, the spells were made per encounter because people just rest spam anyway. It's not a conspiracy to dumb the game down so they can market to the unwashed masses. You're not making any friends on this board by ranting like a petulant child.
  19. Well, in Pillars, the experience comes more from completing quests than from actually killing monsters (a feature that initially caused a lot of controversy around here). Try to finish quests through non-violent means or try to sneak past your adversaries. Choose your battles wisely.
  20. Solo isn't really my thing, so maybe I'm on the wrong track here, but I always figured that as a solo character, you would have to just avoid most of the combat. I mean, I think everything is optional up to Caed Nua. Are you sure you're not going in with a "murder everything!" mentality?
  21. But why? She was like the face of the game in all those videos. Well, I wish her good fortune in the future.
  22. I mainly mean the physical hard copy editions of the game, not necessarily the ones on steam. If I bought the game, I'd buy a hard copy....I don't do digital content. That's pretty old school in this day and age. I was like you once, then I took an arrow to the knee moved into a tiny apartment with limited storage space and started seeing the value of digital content. Surely though, you want to find a copy that includes the White March? Seems like a waste to pay all that money for only the vanilla game.
  23. Thanks for the link. Was particularly interesting about the rogues. They do make for some great multi-class combos with other martial classes. I hope this doesn't mean they'll be nerfed in a day 1 patch.
  24. Really late response to this comment: I legitimately thought that was a bug. You mean the beckoner will summon midgets of everything? That is pretty disappointing.
  25. Haha, guys, you can be really looking forward to the game and still be skeptical about the new spell system. *sigh* I wish the release was on a Friday night and not the middle of a week.
