I'd do it. I already have the 4800+ and the FX-60 processors. I'd put them on the same motherboard and then build one next to it using the new Intel chip and get a chance to see how they do side by side.
-
I don't want to hear it. I bought the FX-60 'and' the AMD 64 4800+ a few months back!

Umm...Maybe a little more direction for this thread??? -
That and backing up all my music and movies onto my drives.

:D I presently have a little over 1.5 Tb on my newest rig. Running out of storage space irritates me.

Sprechen shiessen! (w00t) Now that was harsh! I like it though. ( That's why I'm always in trouble. Apparently my board is now rated on Google's 'most frequented boards' list. It's probably because of all the FBI hits . )

Yes you are. I had set up a separate account for internet purchases and have a dial-up connection. A few years ago, I had a phone call on a holiday from my bank asking if I'd made a purchase for $1.85 ( or something like that ). I couldn't remember anything like that so I declined it and the bank said that they had received frigging hundreds of charges like that all on the same day. That's why they were calling. At that point I began layering firewalls. I now sit behind a Linux firewall ( on my gateway computer ), the next stop is a router/switch and then Norton and nVidia firewalls. From there it goes into my dual system which has McAffe and Black Ice Defender as well as nVidia firewalls. I do any money transaction from behind the dual system. I like my privacy . Bingo! Turn off the admin features is the best thing you can do to prevent bugs from loading themselves and activating them into your system. If you are not using your system for purchases or storing sensitive data on your system, the worst that can probably happen is that someone will use your rig as a proxy server. It's up to you to decide if that pisses you off or not. Some junior high school kid hiding his porn collection on your system is one thing. Some jerkoff using your system to email spam other systems is another.

I'll get right on that Volo.

Didn't intent to imply that 'all' people had this need. Many do and those are the ones that I was refering to.

Other than through a brain MRI ( magnetic resonance imaging ), we cannot 'prove' the existance of love either but we pretty much universally acknowledge it's existance. Faith, like love, we will have problems quantifying it yet we agree that it exists. As someone who's background is heavily based in science, I make most of my decisions based on science and reason. However, as a priest, I also must acknowledge the 'human factor' and our need to have something 'larger than life' that looks over us and is responsible to and for us. Call it God, the Force, Karma, Gaia, whatever, the need is still there for many of us and it would be foolish to disreguard that aspect of humanity. That's actually why I became a priest BTW. I was atheistic prior to that. For many years, the Church declared that the world was flat. Obviously, they were wrong but the human need for that sort of structure is still needed for the emotional well being of many people. Some individual people/organization abuse that fact but they are in the minority. By and large, the Church supports the emotional needs of the folks that have that spiritual need to know that 'God' is watching out for them. Those of you that base 'all' your decisions on science and reason, quantify that mathematically.

I must bow to your superior experiences but you should probably keep such things to yourself. We might think less of you .

Okay...had to snoop around a bit to find what you wanted... On your desktop, right click your mouse on a blank spot and you will get a pop-up. Hit 'Properties'. Hit the 'Settings' tab and then click 'Advanced' at the bottom right section of the new pop-up screen. Click the tab for your GPU. A new pop-up will appear on the side. Click 'Temp'. Near the bottom of the original pop-up is a box to check "Notify when GPU temp exeeds threshold". When you check that box, the temp setting above it will highlight. Unfortunately, it will not allow you to change the temp setting but it will give you some sort of warning to save your stuff and shut down. I hope this helps.

I use external HDs and just unplug them from the USB port. Powering down the external drive would do just as well. Without power, it'll be a little difficult to damage the info there. What version of Windows are you using. There should be an icon at the lower right corner of your screen that says 'Safely Remove Hardware". If you click on that, it should prompt you on what to do. I've never had any issues though.

Save the e-mail somewhere and then open it again with Notepad. In the beginings of the code you will see the IP address and lots of other stuff that doesn't show up in Outlook Express. Type the IP into Samspade.org and oila!
-
and he said it was okay. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> (w00t) Cool! Another address for em to send Goatse porn to! Usually when I get these types of e-mail BS, I look up the IP and then follow their link and fill it in with swear words in that language. Idi na hui, podleezi!

:D I programmed for a few years in the late 70's/early 80's so I'll give you that one!

:D Needless to say this is why I work with machines and not people. Machines don't develope attitude problems. People on the other hand tend to get testy when I take a hammer to them for being stupid. Then they call their maggot lawyers before they call their doctors.

Fu toi. :D I am soooo going to ban your sorry ass for advertising your sorry product on this fine board! ( Either that or charge your store advert fees. )

Keep it cool guys. Before you guys start considering the wisdom of the goverment's role the marrying industry, you might want to remember that in the early and mid 1900s, several US states forbade the marrying of 'mixed couples'. That's one of the reasons that marriage licences became a requirement rather than it being a responsibility of the Church. Many of the southern states didn't want any of the whites 'tainting' the pure blood. Consider that when thinking of giving the goverment more authority over people.

My mentioning of my high IQ is not 'even' a tease.

Being of supremely high IQ, omniscient, prescient as well as incredibly good looking, I now declare this thread closed. ( God, just saying that makes me want to open a vein. ) -

Onur, for someone that English is not their native language, your use of it seems to actually be getting worse than better... http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...53entry379253 Another example of 'higher IQ'? -
Asalaam Aliekum Onur. You'll probably find that a little courtesy will go a long ways with these guys. Suggestions that they have a low IQ isn't going to gain you a lot of support. Straightforward answers and explainations would go a lot further toward your message across than just talking down to them. Also, we're really not interested in what you are doing with your left hand.

:D Job offer would be better. That's the kind of work I would enjoy and it would be safer than a possibly botched pre-emptive strike. You do know that you'd only get one chance don't you?
