  1. I've seen a lot of speculation of what 'war' is so I thought I'd add my own definition... To war is to seek the ability to impose the will of a goverment upon an unwilling population. This obviously includes applications within a country's own boundries ( through force, economics or psychology ).
  2. Eldar, depending on your weight and size, I can loan you something that I have. As I remember, some slob here said I looked like a freeking bard with a pic that I foolishly posted in a moment of drunkenness. Two questions...are you a lardass? and what kind or sword do you want ( assuming you don't already have the one you want )? I'll have my bronze katana and wagisashi by then if you want to use them. PM me for particulars ( assuming you answered no to question #1 ).
  3. Pruned ( well somewhat ).
  4. Go here and download Edison Home Edition. It will tell you anything and everything about what's inside your computer.
  5. (w00t) I have an 80 Gb front drive and 5 320 Gb additional drives and 2 are full and a third is close to it. Hell, some of my folders alone are 40 Gb! Agreed. 80 Gb drives are so common that you can get them for around 80-90 USD at stores like Office Max. Most of what I use is Western Digital drives. They are cheap but serviceable. Maxtor is a very good drive but cost only a little more. Seagate is even better but kind of pricey. If you are going to be storing a lot of stuff, have a second drive that is much larger than the front drive. When you go to format, replace, whatever the first drive, it's nice to have sufficient space on another drive to back up all your information on. It's also very handy if you have to do any data recovery. Data recovery must be performed from one drive and stored on another. A second drive is very handy and doesn't have to be done at once. Just add it whenever you can afford it. Keep in mind though!!!...some older computers BIOS cannot support a drive over 137 Gb ( barrier ). The front drive MUST be smaller than this or you will not be able to boot your computer. If you are using WinXP, your second drive can be as large as you like but will automatically be NTFS format file system. Not important and won't cause any problems. Just thought I'd mention it so it doesn't surprise you when it comes up. If you are not using WinXP and want to use one of the larger drives you will have to install a PCI expander card that corrects the 137 Gb barrier. Drop me a note if this will be a question and I'll give you more information on how to do it. Doesn't cost much.
  6. Pruned again. Can we have at least one thread that stays on topic?
  7. Pruned and restored by the lazy moderator that should have done it yesterday. Idiot! PS - Hilde, send me the link will you? I'm morbidly curious.
  8. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is interesting since I usually only eat one meal a day and I don't eat after 7 PM. However, don't get between me and the refrigerator at 4 PM. You'll have my footprints on your back. When I started doing that several years ago, I lost about 30 pounds and have pretty much kept it off. That doesn't mean that I'm 'in shape' though.
  9. Un-stuck.
  10. From what I've read about this one, it's been known about on hacker's boards but Microshaft couldn't be bothered until now. You have to wonder if they like the praise... "Microsoft to the rescue from those horrible hackers."

  12. Arkan, contact Silmarillion at UFR. She can probably give you good advice or direct you where you could find it. BTW-I still have that copper, arctic silver, etc. I need to get off my lazy ass and send it to you.
  13. To those of you that asked what this bug can do, it opens a door to your system, puts it's foot in it and then invites it's friends to party at your place. This is one of the known party crashers... Trojan.Satiloler.B A little wordy and technical but even the least of geeks can see that it gets into places and looks for stuff where it doesn't belong. Those of you that use Norton, there is already an Update for it that I've loaded and tested. Update and then use the link BW provided to test your firewall.
  14. http://antivirus.about.com/od/virusdescrip...mfexploit_4.htm There is a patch that seems to be effective but the site is down right now. I'll keep checking and post a link here after I've looked into it further. Just got the info today so I'm still trying to get accurate information.
  15. Don't click links that you aren't familiar with. http://antivirus.about.com/od/virusdescrip...mfexploit_4.htm http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic...0997626d0cea18e
  16. Let's see...Commisar has bug problems and has a dead hooker in some non-existant garage. Spiders can be a delicacy and Gabrielle has an interesting selection of home videos. I think this one's just about done. Thanks for playing folks. It's always a pleasure to read.
  17. As well as the alternate uses for watermelon and macaroni.
  18. And butchered by another mod. Get on track here guys! This thread is about wasting time.Searching out and properly hiding your precious porn is definitely not a waste of time!
  19. Scale it down a bit guys. Grimtongue, let avoid making comparisons where they don't exist and are inflammitory. I could easily make some very harsh judgement calls about Christianity but for the sake of courtesy, I don't. Please extend that same courtesy to the rest of us.
  20. Commisar... I like spiders a great deal and will only kill brown recluses if found in my house. All others ( including Black Widows ) I will relocate to the crawlspace under my house. That being said, spiders usually go to where there is ready food. Now other than grizzled Commie, spiders like ants so you may want to look around for signs of ants. Also, spiders are not the only things that spin webs. Try searching on the net using the terms webspinners+insects and see what comes up. I have a piece of amber with a critter in it that looks like a winged ant that is actually a webspinner ( worth about $500. I paid $80 because the seller thought it was an ant ). Vasha moosh eta ooprek! ( ask you wife what that means )
  21. ^ Then you really lost out buddy. They were something not to be missed. Ya snooze ya lose.
  22. I think this one's about played out. A little too much information folks.

    Sinuses

:D That would form chloromides. Not such a good idea. BTW-It's that same chemical reaction that usually causes a swimming pool to smell. I'll give you guys one guess where the ammonia is coming from. <_<

    Books!

Rereading the Dune series. The original author's kid tried writing a three book prequel to get a handle on the old man's writing style. He ain't quite there yet. Waiting for the last book of the Drow series to come out in paperback ( because I'm a cheap bastard ). When it comes out, I'll start the set at book one and go through the set ( 6 books ).
  25. Posts in this forum don't increase your post count. I'd imagine it's to discourage spamming. It didn't work. Welcome to the forum ( and limber up your club ).
