    Sinuses

If you can inhale, inhale a blast of ammonia through your nose ( vapors only obviously ). If it feels like you're opening sinuses in the back of your head then your sinuses are clear and you have other problems. I found this out when I found some of my parent's ammonia caps. I thought they were amal nitrate and took a big blast. Christ that hurt.

    Blade thread

Finally got it to work. Had to reduce it quite a bit.
  3. Considering this crowd ( and the fact that we keep spamming other peoples' threads up ), I thought Blades deserved their own thread. Post your pics here of the blades you have or just your fantasy blades. Here's a pic of the two favorites that I own and a link to the one ( made by the same guys ) that I really want to get. http://www.badgerblades.com/html/katana_bronze.html Screw it! I can't get the attachments to take my photo so I'll give you guys the link. http://www.badgerblades.com/html/katana_all_steel.html I also have a blade that Badger called the 'Mantis Blade' that he modelled after So-Rim Kung-Fu which I started taking shortly afterwards. If I can get the damned attachments to work, I'll post a pic of it and my belt-buckle knife.
  4. Which one and how do you like it? I got lucky in that my wife supports this particular hobby. I think I'm going to buy the steel wagazashi to go with my katana but Goddamn that bronze katana is beautiful! You haven't seen my wife's knives ( she's an exec chef ) . I keep mine oiled. My first one I was using in a ceremony and handled the blade with salt-water on my hands. I played Hell getting the damned rusted finger-prints out of it.
  5. Just checked out his website for the first time. Wow!!! I think I found my next toy .
  6. The katana I have was made by a bladesmith. I'll see if I can find the paperwork on it. It was $250 US unfinished and $350 finished. I can bend the blade nearly ninety degrees and have it snap back and remain true. The guys who made it guarantees that it can cut through a car body and he will still warranty the blade. His demo is taking one of the smaller blades and slamming it against a piece of 1/4 inch mild steel plate and peeling the edge off the plate and showing that there is no damage to the blade. Here's the warranty ( as well as the website for his work ). http://www.badgerblades.com/html/warrantee.html
  7. Removed spam and inappropriate remarks. Let's keep the posts appropriate as well as the jokes. Some jokes aren't funny.
  8. Why don't you guys start a new thread and condense all the good stuff here into it and make it easier to read through for people looking for specifics? EDIT-Surreptishus beat me to it. Start a new one guys and we can replace this one with something more current.
  9. Pruned thread and added "Unsure as yet" to poll options.
  10. ^ Now that's just mean!
  11. no kinetic energy correct? zero movement of particles <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Without energy, no movement or any chemical reaction is possible. At absolute zero there is no energy ( enthalpy ) what-so-ever. Even electrons stop orbiting their nucleus.
  12. Oh, it's on now :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *Awaits pixie's upcoming blanket party with great interest*
  13. Let's see...pruned from 6 pages down to 3 due to various 'fashion statements' and the sexual possibilities of baking. There's still hope for this one. Sucks about you bombing your test. The first semester is pretty easy to think you can coast and still get decent grades. Kinda painfull when you find out it's not true.
  14. Whats abs stand for? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry about that. I use absolute values in some of my calculations and don't always pay attention to what I'm writing. Absolute zero=0 deg R=0 deg K=-460 deg F ( I don't remember the celsius equivelent )
  15. Energy converts to mass under the gravitational field of such a mass? No energy=zero enthalpy=abs zero
  16. http://mwsource.com/ Ran across a moderator for this board about a year ago. Had to check my PMs at UFR for the location.
  17. Quantum disruption. A mass compresses enough that it's own atomic bonds are stripped of it's valence shells ( electron orbits ). The mass compresses even further. At some point even the building blocks of matter have had enough and you get disruption. Matter converts to energy per the Law of Conservation and Matter and Energy. Mass becomes energy ( similar to an atomic explosion where only about 1/2%-1% of mass converts to energy blasting the remaining mass away quickly enough that it escapes conversion ) blasting the remaining, unconverted mass outward. Since the mass is no longer 'critical' but does have momentum, it travels outward untill momentum is depleted and the matter then begins to condense into recognizable matter again. Quasars throw out huge amounts on energy and some matter but the particles must slow down before they can become recognizable matter again. Alright you physics majors...that was off the cuff. Did I get it right?
  18. http://www.ufrforums.com/viewforum.php?f=37 Unforgotten Realms has a forum dedicated to Morrowind. I don't play it so I don't know how usefull it'll be but it might be a good start.
  19. And also the most accurate. When water freezes ( I don't think this applies to any other substance ) it forms crystals. These crystals require more space to form than liquid water so the sustance expands to accomodate it's new shape. This is why it floats. It now displaces more liquid than it weighs. This is also why it breaks pipes when it freezes. Be glad it works this way because otherwise lakes would freeze from the bottom up and would rarely ever thaw. ( Electromagnetics? ) For extra credit...what happens when you screw up the crystaline geometry of water by using heavily ammoniated water and adding dry iodine? ( Hint-Ammonium Triiodide )
  20. Before 911, I had carried it on planes & through many various sequurity systems. Since then I don't even carry a paper clip into those areas. Was working in the Denver Federal Courthouse a few months ago and the SOB on security swabbed my tools and materials and held me up because they showed 'hot' for nitrates. Frigging Dudley Dooright! Took me about an hour to explain my way out of that one. I haven't gotten any more 'civilized' in my years since. I've just gotten sneakier . ( see post in 'Geeky Evil Thread ) moreKOTORplz...your buddy sounds like a future organ donar. Idiot! I'll bet he was fun to watch though.
  21. Now where have I heard that before? Before I turned 18, I was 'encarcerated' for 6 counts of False Reporting to Authorities. In laymanspeak, it means I was running around to all the local high schools hitting their fire alarms during my lunch breaks. They didn't take to kindly to a couple of bomb scares either. Bothersome sods. Second time was for shoplifting while I was on probation for The above listed infraction. Tried to have me legally termed a 'Juvenial Delenquent'. At 16, I didn't even know that was a legal term. Got picked up again when I was 22 for failure to appear on a traffic ticket. Cop stopped me for a burned out tail light :"> . Ran my license and came back and said "Come with me". Since I was 16, I've alway have this belt ( mine is double sided though ). Each time I was thrown in jail, I was allowed to keep it because I was never picked up for a violent crime. Those picked up for fighting had their shoes and belt taken. Say... do I get extra anti-geek points for that?
  22. Arrgg! 452-652 Level 3 geek (true geek) It was 705 before jail time ( and a few other items ) lowered me down to a 'respectable' level. Computers, science fiction and Wicca.
  23. Well... it was worth a try. Thread closed due to terminal spamming.
  24. :D Not even close in my book. I think it's called 'venting' . My point is that maybe you guys should start over since he and I have been talking in PM. As a new guy here, cut him a little slack. Not a lot but certainly remember that we were all newbs once.
  25. :whistles: Settle down guys. He's been talking with me via PM. It's going to take both sides to come to a compromise here. That's kinda what this thread is about. Now...what do you guys ask of new members? and... what do the new guys ask of the regulars ( besides courtesy of course )?
