  1. It's all in how the game applies the stat mods, or if it uses a unique set of creatures (I doubt this).
  2. Hey bman, I'm going to cross-post a mod request from over at the Codex: Is that something you'd be interested in tackling? It would let users fine-tune the combat difficulty even more so than they can now.
  3. It worked! For those with Acrobat Pro, to get the Preflight dialogue box you need to go to View -> Tools -> Print Production, then the tools hotbar will have a Print Production option, containing Preflight. Making text, images and vectors a layer is a predefined option. You have to re-open the saved PDF, and through the layers hotbar (under bookmarks), hide text and image layers.
  4. That last link wasn't parsed correctly by the forum, here it is again: link I got that by googling "spoof edid"
  5. While not an answer to your question, I can offer some advice. Your monitor isn't providing the correct EDID info; that's what windows uses to determine your screen's capabilities such as max resolution, color depth and refresh rate. PoE is pulling its resolution options from windows, so to fix your issue you have to spoof the correct EDID. Check out this article for one method https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/jj133967(v=vs.85).aspx Another method is to use a tool called Powerstrip. Try googling "powerstrip edid override".
  6. Nothing short of a BG1-esque printed paper map and BG2-type spiral bound manual will make me pledge for physicals again. Especially at over $100. I've been burnt on WL2 and now PoE. I like the game; the shirt is pretty good quality and the magnetic flap on the box is nifty, but the tiny manual and bad map make my money feel poorly spent. Exceeeeept... on the upside, I helped Obsidian make the game. I'm not bitter, but I've definitely learned my lesson about vaguely-described physical goods. Caveat emptor indeed.
  7. I don't understand why there can't be different LoD for these textures, loaded based on a user's machine, resolution, vRAM and DRAM.
  8. *DISCLAIMER* I have not read the past 9 pages Why not go the IE Enhanced Editions' route and make area loot toggle-able and continue to support individual corpse looting? That seems to be a no brainer that doesn't force anyone into a specific style.
  9. To be clear, it shouldn't change linearly. It is a bug.
  10. Sounds like the sliders are changing the volume linearly, as opposed to logarithmically. Sound is measured (and perceived) in a log (power of 10) scale. That's why turning the volume down from 100% to 10% on their slider makes it sound half as loud (gg on the numbers, your perception was on the money). That's surprising.
  11. Perhaps the batch resize / compress could exclude these images? If the filesize difference is as Sensuki said (1 MB per image), you're not losing any memory by having this image in memory during loading, then flushed afterwards. That, and Sensuki is right. The compressed images look decidedly worse- remember, 1920x1080 is normal now and standard resolutions will only increase in time. Ditto for ram. edit: steam survey from 2015 on resolutions, ram size, etc.: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/
  12. Still waiting for the ability to expand/contract the combat log via PG-UP/PG-DN. Come on team members who played the IE games!
  13. The problem with the above discussion is that there is currently no way to activate stealth on only a single character.
  14. Rather, I think being able to dial in the extra AoE, from the stock radius to the max granted by your abilities, would be the most beneficial. Like Matt516 suggested, with the mouse wheel or a click+drag scheme. Mixing who is affected by the spell sounds less useful than being able to tactically apply an AoE spell based on the environment and enemy positioning.
  15. The real problem is that there are no hotkeys to rapidly expand or close it. Pg-up/dn was in the IE games for a reason! A lot of us use the keyboard constantly.
  16. You want an update on the update? EDIT: updated my post.
  17. I hope that the game's item files allow for a separate art item in place of the icon in the description window. That at least means that artistic members of the mod community could introduce them (or we just rip them from the IE games). If the item files are hardcoded so that item_icon == description_icon, well, uh, can it not be like that. please?
  18. Will the game speed increase if we play at 45, 60, 90+ fps (like the IE games), or will the delay between animation frames increase? Stretching 30 fps animations (1 frame per 33.3 ms) to ~67 ms per frame for 60 fps rendering.
  19. There were a limited number of those and we have accounted for all of them but one. One of the inn backers has not responded at all, unfortunately. Farm it out the community if they don't reply by XYZ date. Post the questions, have us submit to a throwaway gmail account. Pick the best one!
