  1. Hmm, is 1.13 really that difficult if you play on the easy setting? I think I played it on medium recently and I don't remember being too overwhelmed, but I have been playing it for years, so I guess I'm a lousy judge. My only concern is that the resolution will turn Tale off from the game. It shows its age without 1.13.
  2. Brittney is a mediocre singer. She doesn't have anywhere near the range that Christina Aguilera does. She's better known for her dancing skills. But you don't need a fantastic voice to be an entertaining performer, and from what I've heard, she puts on great shows.
  3. Yeah, I'd avoid JA2 over steam for those very reasons. Don't forget to apply the 1.13 mod, as it lets you change the resolution to much higher settings and generally improves the game. It doesn't affect the story, just adds options. Also, don't hesitate to recruit mercs with low skills in the early game. Guys like Razor and Haywire are psycho, but they build their skills quickly and can easily become lethal soldiers. It's the wisdom score that actually really matters, as that determines how quickly they build a skill. You really only need one or two accurate people in the beginning of the game, the rest will develop over time.
  4. JA2 takes place in a war torn country where an bitchy dictator rules with an iron fist. You can send her flowers if you'd like. You are in control of a small mercenary company, and you capture towns and mines as you slowly take over the country. As you take over towns, you can also train troops to guard them and in the new version, they even go out patrolling. It's open ended, so you can go after whatever territory you want, in fact you can even make a beeline straight for the capital (although that's not very easy without cheating to get great mercs.) As your mercs fight, they increase their skills, meaning the mediocre ones can be very effective by the end of the game. The setting works, but it's the characters that really bring JA2 to life. The mercenaries all have very unique personalities, many bordering on psychotic. They are extremely entertaining. The combat is some of the best turn based combat out there. It's similiar to Xcom or Silent Storm, although I'd argue it's still better than either. The weapons and equipment are extremely detailed and it really feels like they accurately depict the variety of ammo and weaponry in a modern warzone. Equipment is a big concern, and it's common for my mercs to have an aussault rifle or two, a couple grenades, a backup sidearm, and even a knife or two.
  5. Just like video games, making movies is an expensive process. It's difficult to take risks in tis market, as it can literally break the studio if it flops.
  6. I've always thought Rome TW was all the game I ever needed. I might pick up a new version of Shogun though, as that's a drastically different setting. Still, I'm sure it will rock, as all the TW games do.
  7. 5 years ago, sure, but now she's been rode hard and put away wet a few too many times.
  8. Heh, I don't think greylord has ever played Halo co-op. It means cooperatively with another person. Everything you listed was PvP, or player versus player.
  9. Well, at least you know how to touch type, although I wonder how you were able to locate the "NEW POST" button... Get used to me for I am quite weird. The reason my head explode because OP didn't say which Micheal Jackson that died. And Yes it is sad when someone dies but sometimes if someone else that is famous, it is important to state which person dies. RIP to Micheal Jackson ...........the other one. Here is humor. And here is Deathscepter.
  10. After thinking about it a bit more, it's not like the 70's and 80's were filled with deep sci-fi movies. In between every good one you had numerous bad ones. Barbarella for teh win.
  11. Children of Men was great. I see what he's saying, but we are still getting one or two good titles a year.
  12. Eh, people are bitter about anything that is succesful and mainstream. I'm not a Halo fan, but I have no problem accepting that it's a well done game. I can't think of any bestsellers that weren't well done since Deer Hunter.
  13. Well, I think if you hated Oblivion, you will hate Fallout. It's not that I agree Fallout will be Oblivion with guns, but the fact is developers do have certain styles that they stick to. Personally, I enjoyed Oblivion enough, particularly the expansion. It proved to me that Bethesda can tell a decent story in their games, and they've always been at the top of the graphical game. Sure, it had issues, but nothing that made me hate the game.
  14. Jagged Alliance 2.
  15. No, not really.
  16. This reminds me of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy game. I choose to go east and get hit in the head by a brick.
  17. Well, I think any game that comes out 10 years removed from a series is going to be very different than the originals. I don't really see different as necessarilly bad, but plenty of folks do.
  18. Hmm, do you have the latest update for 1.13? Last year I had quite a few CTD's, but the recent build seemed more stable on my rig.
  19. JA3 will, at best, be Silent Storm in a modern day setting. While I'm very excited about that prospect, I'm not expecting it to capture the personality of the originals. The Sir-Tech team put a remarkable amount of wit and charm into their games, and that's just extremely difficult to duplicate.
  20. I can second that the new build is incredibly stable, and if you never played 1.13 (or JA2) it is a great experience. It's really the only game I go back and play every year.
  21. But you should take into account that Fallout does not mean the same thing to everyone.
  22. So if a die roll can cause you to miss even when you aim perfectly, can it also cause you to hit even when you don't aim at a target? That would be interesting Anyone that thinks Bethesda should just create an IP isn't using their business sense. The buzz around this game is huge. Sure, there is a good deal of negative attention from hardcore Fallout fans, but the gaming press and the rest of the internet are all over this game. You don't see IP's getting this much attention very often, particularly for a post-apocalyptical RPG.
  23. Have you ever thought about trying to score in real life instead? I'm just saying, the graphics are way better.
  24. That brings up a good point, every college is different.
  25. How is it joyful to have a manic depressive roommate that is noisily up all night and constantly drinking your Mountain Dew? How is it fun to spend 2 hours trying to find a parking space, missing half your first class of the day because the only open space is more than 2 miles away?!?!? Actually, the Mountain Dew sounds ike a great life experience, and why do you need to park if you live on or near campus?
