Well, at least you know how to touch type, although I wonder how you were able to locate the "NEW POST" button... Get used to me for I am quite weird. The reason my head explode because OP didn't say which Micheal Jackson that died. And Yes it is sad when someone dies but sometimes if someone else that is famous, it is important to state which person dies. RIP to Micheal Jackson ...........the other one. Here is humor. And here is Deathscepter.

After thinking about it a bit more, it's not like the 70's and 80's were filled with deep sci-fi movies. In between every good one you had numerous bad ones. Barbarella for teh win.

Children of Men was great. I see what he's saying, but we are still getting one or two good titles a year.

Eh, people are bitter about anything that is succesful and mainstream. I'm not a Halo fan, but I have no problem accepting that it's a well done game. I can't think of any bestsellers that weren't well done since Deer Hunter.

Well, I think if you hated Oblivion, you will hate Fallout. It's not that I agree Fallout will be Oblivion with guns, but the fact is developers do have certain styles that they stick to. Personally, I enjoyed Oblivion enough, particularly the expansion. It proved to me that Bethesda can tell a decent story in their games, and they've always been at the top of the graphical game. Sure, it had issues, but nothing that made me hate the game.

Jagged Alliance 2.

No, not really.

This reminds me of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy game. I choose to go east and get hit in the head by a brick.

Well, I think any game that comes out 10 years removed from a series is going to be very different than the originals. I don't really see different as necessarilly bad, but plenty of folks do.

Hmm, do you have the latest update for 1.13? Last year I had quite a few CTD's, but the recent build seemed more stable on my rig.
-
JA3 will, at best, be Silent Storm in a modern day setting. While I'm very excited about that prospect, I'm not expecting it to capture the personality of the originals. The Sir-Tech team put a remarkable amount of wit and charm into their games, and that's just extremely difficult to duplicate.
-
I can second that the new build is incredibly stable, and if you never played 1.13 (or JA2) it is a great experience. It's really the only game I go back and play every year.

But you should take into account that Fallout does not mean the same thing to everyone.

So if a die roll can cause you to miss even when you aim perfectly, can it also cause you to hit even when you don't aim at a target? That would be interesting Anyone that thinks Bethesda should just create an IP isn't using their business sense. The buzz around this game is huge. Sure, there is a good deal of negative attention from hardcore Fallout fans, but the gaming press and the rest of the internet are all over this game. You don't see IP's getting this much attention very often, particularly for a post-apocalyptical RPG.

Have you ever thought about trying to score in real life instead? I'm just saying, the graphics are way better.

That brings up a good point, every college is different.

How is it joyful to have a manic depressive roommate that is noisily up all night and constantly drinking your Mountain Dew? How is it fun to spend 2 hours trying to find a parking space, missing half your first class of the day because the only open space is more than 2 miles away?!?!? Actually, the Mountain Dew sounds ike a great life experience, and why do you need to park if you live on or near campus?

All the stress about what type of degree you get isn't nearly as important as simply getting a degree. Seriously, there are plenty of folks working jobs that have nothing to do with their degree. The key is that they were able to complete something, and that's what companies tend to value when you go into an interview.

The key to avoiding hangovers is to not stop drinking. I joined a frat, and that was a very good experience. Every frat is different though, so you've got to find one that fits your personality. Mine was the type that had massive games of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 going on, so I guess it wasn't really atypical. Don't drop classes. Have fun, but always remember finishig classes is why you are there. Beg professors if necessary, they are all pretty soft.

Huh, I love the minigame. Even though I have quite a few autohackers, I typically try and lay down the pie anyways. And really, who doesn't like to fill a pipe now and then?

JAZZ: Hired Guns, or I think they changed it to Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge. It was the game that was going to be Jagged Alliance 3, but Sir-Tech pulled the plug on the developer because they weren't happy. I'm hoping the real JA3 that's being developed using the Silent Storm engine will be good.

Yah, some people are like "This game is awesome" and others are like "No, it's super awesome." Totally mixed reviews.

Roger Ebert: Games are an inferior medium
Hurlshort replied to Azarkon's topic in Computer and Console
So, what you're saying is that games are already a superior medium to film? There's a ton of games that don't rely on violence all the time. Just because they're not the hyped up big sellers out of the big US studios doesn't mean they don't exist. Just the same as the same can't be said of movies. Wow, it doesn't seem like you really read my post. I know there are non violent games out there, but I doubt they account for much more than 10% of the market. Movies have developed their non-violent genres to a much greater degree. Yes, popcorn movies are huge and sell well, but they are are rarely considered artful. I'd say maybe 25% of movies rely on violence to push the plot forward. Keep in mind, 85% of statistics are made up. And it's not just about violence, it's the use of violence. Bioshock is an artful game, but I've still spent a lot of time killing very similiar creatures over and over again. That puts it a lot closer to a standard horror flick then it does Apocalypse Now. I'm not saying games aren't art, I'm just saying they have a long way to go before they fit that "fine art" definition. They definitely aren't a superior medium, although they have the potential to be. But games need to break out of their demographic on a more consistent basis. As it is now, the appeal of games is too limited to teenage boys. -

Heh, games won't be a superior medium until they stop relying on violence all the time. Seriously, the market is saturated with games that are all about you going around and blowing stuff up. Gameplay needs to be expanded past this stage if games ever want to break out of the young male demographic. I'm not saying it's bad to have these games, but it shouldn't be 90% of releases. I'd say the Wii has the best chance of releasing a truly artistic game over the next couple years. It has the ability to create a unique gameplay experience. -
I've been ignoring the ones that seem like respawns, but maybe that's bad.
