  1. Ok, league created, it's Obsidian (abbreviation is OBS) and the password is sawyer. Go ahead and join if you can.
  2. Gah, that seems to be a common theme with EA Sports games. He should be able to exchange it for a new copy free of charge, but he'll have to call EA tech support.
  3. Are you sure it doesn't have online coop? There's got to be a way to set it up, that would be odd if there wasn't. Anyways, I don't think anyone needs to be available to set the tourney up, but that's why I'm going to tinker with it. I'd imagine you would just log on and play your game whenever you can, although when it's a head to head game, you'd need to organize that with your opponent.
  4. My wife and daughter are out of the house tonight, so I think I'll try and set up an online tourney for NHL 08. I'll tinker with it and post what it up. Kor and Jags need to add me to their friends list. Does the roster look like this for folks with NHL 08? Me Krookie Jags Kor Nick Llyr Anyone else?
  5. I'm not claiming that UMD's are better or worse than DS cartridges, I was really just talking about the price point for UMD movies. It was $20 for a movie, and there was no way to play that movie on my TV (although I hear that's possible now.) I also realize that the PSP has come a long way, but I owned it for the first year and it was basically a paper weight. There just weren't any games that appealed to me. The DS came onto the market ready to play with a strong stable of games and the ability to put in GBA games. I was very excited about the PSP, but it just seems like they failed on the movie front and took too long on the games front. Where are the Phoenix Wright's and Brain Age games for the PSP? Those are the unique titles I turn to a handheld for, and Sony didn't deliver them.
  6. The problem with the PSP is it tries to be a miniature console instead of focusing on the fact it's a handheld. DS games are designed for a handheld experience, they aren't hindered by a tiny screen and they are usually creative, quick diversions. PSP ports just make me want to go home and play an actual console. Plus, UMD's were overpriced and now they are a dead media.
  7. My tag is pretty obvious, and it's also in my sig :D It would be awesome to play a tourney in NHL 08. I know Krookie is still itching to get back at me for beating him 1-0 awhile ago. I'll get my headset out as well. Do I need to buy Worms in order to play it online with you guys? I've got the demo currently, but I suppose I'll shell out a few bucks.
  8. The dance scene at the end made the entire movie for me. It was pretty average until then, but that one scene cracked me up so much that it really made it worth watching.
  9. Ok, I'm up for some 360 action. The only people I have on my friends list are Krook and whoever FOE69 is.
  10. Int. of 12? Really? I'd say the wisdom is right, but I'm not sure Conan was much of an intellectual.
  11. Can you explain your statement?
  12. Everybody, let's jump in the time machine with Sand! Seriously, if all the Americans left Iraq right now, it wouldn't be Iraqis determine the fate of Iraq.
  13. Islam is the second largest religion in the world and it is currently growing faster than Christianity. I think it's more important that the US find a way to embrace Muslim culture than it is to "cast off the yoke". Islam isn't going anywhere.
  14. Yeah, but you can also go find a working NES. Also, there are usually a bunch of classic games released on the new consoles for relatively cheap. Xbox live, for example, has a ton of old school games available, and most are no more than a few bucks for the full version. I'm not trying to sound like a console fanboi, obviously the PC has more capabilities when it comes to modding and emulators, but both consoles and PC's have issues with older technology.
  15. I would go 4 levels of Rogue. That extra level is really just a waste. Pump all your points into intimidate too
  16. The PC has the same problem. Most Windows 95 games don't exactly run stellar on XP. It's the price of progress.
  17. When arguing cost, it's pretty difficult to side with the PC, but it's becoming easier with the new generation of consoles. A decent PC can still be bought for $1000 (if you build it yourself). That's been pretty much the same price for the last decade, wheras consoles have slowly climbed up in price (other than the Wii.) Also, newer consoles really require an expensive TV in order to get the full value out of it. The cost of these TV's are much higher than a great monitor, and after all is said and done, you can spend as much on a high end gaming rig as you can on a great TV and console. Of course, they both have very different uses other than gaming.
  18. Night at the Museum - Better than I expected, good kids movie. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer - I'm not a huge comic book guy, so I wasn't all upset over the source material, but I still felt they really missed out on a chance to make a cool movie about Silver Surfer and Galactus. It was just remarkably average, but I've seen worse comic book movies. At least it was only 90 minutes, they didn't drag anything out, and that's probably why I finished it.
  19. Eh, I chose both, but I suppose I prefer my PC over the console. I love having a console and there are some great games on it, but the majority of my time is spent on the PC.
  20. Uh, it's like $7 a month for a gold account. Maybe if you can't come up with that tiny amount, you should stop playing games and go make a few dollars. Seriously, these services aren't free because companies like Blizzard and Microsoft are in business, and their whole purpose is to make money. I'm not quite sure where that qualifies as a rip-off.
  21. NWN2 load times don't have anything on the epic Witcher load times. Tolstoy wrote War and Peace during the load times of the Witcher.
  22. I'm sooooo tired of Forgotten Realms games. I think that's why I'm enjoying The Witcher so much, it's nice to have a departure from the standard D&D games.
  23. NHL

Wow, Roenick just scored his 500th goal in the oddest way I've ever seen. It bounced of the back of the net, and Alex Auld pretty much directed it in. Heh, they can't all be pretty!
  24. If I buy COD4, it will be more for the multiplayer than anything else. Any opinions on that?
