  1. Well, Phil was a defenseman, so his achievement is still tremendous. But that shouldn't deter from the fact that Modano has accomplished something great. Modano has also never really had any superstars playing along side with him. He had Hull for a few years, but that was at the end of the Golden Brett's career. He's stuck with one franchise through thick and thin, and he still puts up solid numbers despite his age. Housley also played in a very different league, I don't see any defensemen putting up those kinds of numbers in the next ten years.
  2. Eh, not having a digital nipple in my card deck isn't a huge deal, it's just odd that cutting off heads is fine while a drawing of a naked woman is a no-no. It's still an incredible game either way.
  3. From what I hear, it's terrible. I played the demo and it was absolute garbage. The graphics aren't even all that impressive. This is also the type of game that is generally well reviewed whether it's good or bad, so that fact that the reviewers are skewering it means it really is a mess. Maybe in a few months it will be improved through patches, but I'd pass on it for now.
  4. I'm glad I got to see mkreku's cards before they were deleted, because in the US mine are all censored.
  5. Congrats to Mike Modano for becoming the highest scoring US player ever! It's a shame that the Sharks can outshoot Dallas at a 3-1 margin and still lose on the scoreboard. Dang Turco. Ozolinsh looked good though, which is promising for the Sharks defense.
  6. I agree with the Quest for Glory nominations. That was the first game that really captured my attention with the music, particularly the remake of 1. I also enjoyed the Heroes of Might and Magic Opera music, and I'll always remember playing Monkey Island with my first sound card, what a difference that made!
  7. Enjoying The Witcher. The alchemy and gambling is really well done, not so much on the fist fighting. They've also managed to make books extremely important to the game. Great stuff!
  8. I understand where you are coming from, there are plenty of genres that I dislike, but I don't go into threads about them and go on and on about it. Is there a point you are trying to make OTHER than the fact you don't like MMO's? edit: Guild Wars also was releasing a $50 expansion every 6 months or so. They are optional, of course, but that's not that much cheaper than a monthly fee.
  9. The NWN model and an MMO model are two extremely different approaches to business. NWN has very little overhead after the game is released, whereas an MMO has almost as much overhead as they did before release. With an MMO, you are paying to get professionally done updates, but in games like NWN or ES you are having the majority of the work done for free by fans. They are both great in my eyes. Companies like Turbine and Blizzard release huge content updates and I've never felt my $15 a month is wasted. On the other hand, I also enjoy fan made modules, but they are rarely of the same quality. They don't need to be, they are free
  10. Maybe his keyboard is broken? It's kinda readable, although I did want to get a red marker out. I watched Knocked Up. I was funny, although I think it's different to see it from the perspective of an actual parent. I also saw "How the West Was Won" and enjoyed it. Very good western.
  11. I saw this on IGN: So looks like a pretty solid clue that we'll see an Elder Scrolls Online game someday. It makes sense, the ES gameworld is largely developed, and there games almost play like an MMO to begin with. I'm interested to see how it works out, I'd also love to return to Daggerfall. Still probably about 4 years away from any type of release though, but it should be a pretty massive gameworld.
  12. Oh my gosh, are you saying that a bit part of dialogue was cut in the English translation?!? The horror! Peasant lady #27 was robbed of her shining moment! Oh and Kaftan, your neighbor has got something wrong. At its worst, it's a decent action-RPG. Did he pay for it or pirate it? Did it run on his computer well? It's pretty demanding system wise, I was a bit frustrated until I fiddled enough to get it run smotthly.
  13. It's playing much better after updating my ATI Omega drivers. Very solid so far, but I'm still in what is probably considered the tutorial. The amount of information in the game is staggering, the journal is pretty much an encyclopedia of knowledge. The levelling process is also pretty great, there are a lot of choices. Graphics are great. The camera is taking a bit of getting used to, as is the control scheme. I'm using the mouse only system, and I'm not sure if that's the best choice. Load times are pretty long, but I've never let that keep me from playing a good game. Oh, and I hooked up already, but I guess the US version is censored, because there was no boob action. Shame shame.
  14. I picked it up based on the solid reviews. So far it's not running well on my PC. I'm attempting a few tweaks and driver updates. I didn't realize my PC is no longer up to snuff, it's a P4 2.8 Gh with 1.5 gigs of RAM and an ATI 1650 video card, and it's really choking on the Witcher.
  15. Eh, Vista is good for high end machines, but XP is still your best bet for a mid-grade PC. Vista will also continue to improve, just like XP did. It always takes about a year before the Microsoft OS's really become worth the upgrade, and we are almost there with Vista, but again it's pointless without a high end machine.
  16. That seems like a pretty solid deal. He's a proven scorer and he's young enough to continue improving. 7 years seems like a lot, but this deal will probably look great in 3-4 years when top talent is making $10 mill a season. Huh, I'm a necromancer, does that mean I should resurrect dead threads?
  17. If you have a network set up, you can enable media sharing with your xbox and PC. It can play any WMV files on your TV. It doesn't require any downloads, you are in essence streaming it from your PC.
  18. I find it's easier to keep the 360 networked with my PC so I can watch the porn stored in my computer on my big screen TV. I mean, 120 gigs isn't nearly enough, whereas my PC has over 500 gigs of pornographic possibilities.
  19. Osgood is way up on the all time wins list, and I have to say, he's got to be the least talented goalie to play more than 1 season in the NHL. Seriously, how does such an average goalie end up with so many games played?
  20. Well, the game was only like 20 hours, so it can't be too repetitive I enjoyed the story and characters. I definitely think the setting was incomplete, but Bioware has been using IP's for years and it's not easy to develop your own universe, particularly in a short time. Dragon Age has had a lot more development time, so I'm hoping the universe will be more fleshed out. So bashing Bioware sure seems to be the popular flavor this year, even before the EA buyout. What's the deal?
  21. Yeah, all the details point to that game totally sucking.
  22. Wow, I've always known Jagr had world class talent, but I didn't expect him to spit teeth on to the bench and go right back on the ice. I'm pretty sure those years in DC where folks questioned his commitment are now officially left behind. Woohoo, Setoguchi scored 2 goals in his debut. Hopefully he can be the new Cheechoo for Thornton.
  23. So by living up to the series, do you mean it should have just ended suddenly about an hour in? I kid, I just love both Serenity nd Firefly, and I hope we see something out of that universe again.
  24. He doesn't have the space. I think I know too much about Hades
  25. Huh, I love Return of the Jedi and it still keeps my attention when I come across it today. The whole Jabba battle is second only to Hoth for me. But I was young when they came out and enjoyed the Ewoks. But I do agree folks are overly critical about the prequels. The problem seems to lie more in the acting. There just isn't a Harrison Ford in the prequels, and that's a bad thing.
