Does anyone remember Redguard? It was a solid action-adventure title that Bethesda did. So it's not like they are totally limited to Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion games. http://www.elderscrolls.com/tenth_anniv/te...iv-redguard.htm Of course, it was ten years ago. Personally I think they could pull of a fantastic Thief based on the examples Mus gave.

Who's on first?

I didn't drink my freshman year. I still joined a frat and had a good time. You don't have to drink to enjoy college.

Huh, I enjoyed I, Robot. Will Smith is always a good action lead in my opinion. But hey, I don't expect good dialogue out of my action movies, it's just a bonus if it happens. I just watched Blades of Glory. It had some good laughs. Decapitation is funny to me, for some odd reason. I was also impressed that they didn't use any stunt doubles for the skating.

Yep, the fanatical minority are always way more reliable than the gaming press. The gaming press is all wrapped up in what the majority of gamers want and such. That's ridiculous, it's amazing that they can stay in business catering to such an audience!

Whatever, I had some epic lovin' in Jade Empire. Simultaneous lovin' baby. 2 or 3.

Well, maybe this thread can be a reminder...

Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids for Free!
Hurlshort replied to Morgoth's topic in Computer and Console
I don't think Bethesda has any rights to the original Fallout. My understanding was they only purchased the rights to develop Fallout 3. If they had Fallot 1 & 2, I'd actually think they would re-release them sometime soon for advertising. -
Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids for Free!

Um...I don't really think giving away a 12 year old game compares to what Ubisoft is doing, but I appreciate that EA is making the gesture. I'd love to see Fallout available somewhere for free. I don't think I could find a copy anywhere but on Ebay. Heck, I'd even pay Interplay a few bucks for it. -

The ads run whenever you load something, whether it is a new game or a reload. It's about 10 seconds long. Burger King. -
Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids for Free!
Hurlshort replied to Morgoth's topic in Computer and Console
Wow, what a great deal. Farcry is excellent. I'm running it on high settings and the graphics are just wonderful. The advertisements aren't bothersome at all, although it's a shame they don't have a variety of them. Still, I hope this is a trend for the future. If older games start getting released for free with a few advertisements, I will be very happy. -
Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids for Free!

I'm downloading Far Cry first and then I'll try Prince of Persia. Pretty neat, I haven't played either of these games. They aren't even very old! -
I'm excited to see what Bethesda is going to do with IWD3. I was surprised they secured the rights, but I think it's a great fit. Sure, people keep calling it Oblivion with Ice, but I prefer to adopt a wait and see attitude.

I just watched the last two episodes of Knights of Prosperity on ABC.com. While I'm bummed they cancelled one of the only creative shows I've seen on TV lately, at least they had the decency to put the rest of the season up.

Is it worth buying yet?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=217288&hubname=nhl Marleau signs an extension, meaning the Sharks have some great talent locked up for multiple years. I wasn't surprised about this, although the trade rumors sure were busy. Marleau reminds me a lot of Yzerman and the Red Wings...they went through rough playoff years but they kept a strong core together and dominated in the end. Hopefully the Sharks will do the same.

Hmm, is 1.13 really that difficult if you play on the easy setting? I think I played it on medium recently and I don't remember being too overwhelmed, but I have been playing it for years, so I guess I'm a lousy judge. My only concern is that the resolution will turn Tale off from the game. It shows its age without 1.13.

Brittney is a mediocre singer. She doesn't have anywhere near the range that Christina Aguilera does. She's better known for her dancing skills. But you don't need a fantastic voice to be an entertaining performer, and from what I've heard, she puts on great shows.
-
Yeah, I'd avoid JA2 over steam for those very reasons. Don't forget to apply the 1.13 mod, as it lets you change the resolution to much higher settings and generally improves the game. It doesn't affect the story, just adds options. Also, don't hesitate to recruit mercs with low skills in the early game. Guys like Razor and Haywire are psycho, but they build their skills quickly and can easily become lethal soldiers. It's the wisdom score that actually really matters, as that determines how quickly they build a skill. You really only need one or two accurate people in the beginning of the game, the rest will develop over time.

JA2 takes place in a war torn country where an bitchy dictator rules with an iron fist. You can send her flowers if you'd like. You are in control of a small mercenary company, and you capture towns and mines as you slowly take over the country. As you take over towns, you can also train troops to guard them and in the new version, they even go out patrolling. It's open ended, so you can go after whatever territory you want, in fact you can even make a beeline straight for the capital (although that's not very easy without cheating to get great mercs.) As your mercs fight, they increase their skills, meaning the mediocre ones can be very effective by the end of the game. The setting works, but it's the characters that really bring JA2 to life. The mercenaries all have very unique personalities, many bordering on psychotic. They are extremely entertaining. The combat is some of the best turn based combat out there. It's similiar to Xcom or Silent Storm, although I'd argue it's still better than either. The weapons and equipment are extremely detailed and it really feels like they accurately depict the variety of ammo and weaponry in a modern warzone. Equipment is a big concern, and it's common for my mercs to have an aussault rifle or two, a couple grenades, a backup sidearm, and even a knife or two.

Just like video games, making movies is an expensive process. It's difficult to take risks in tis market, as it can literally break the studio if it flops.

I've always thought Rome TW was all the game I ever needed. I might pick up a new version of Shogun though, as that's a drastically different setting. Still, I'm sure it will rock, as all the TW games do.

5 years ago, sure, but now she's been rode hard and put away wet a few too many times.

Heh, I don't think greylord has ever played Halo co-op. It means cooperatively with another person. Everything you listed was PvP, or player versus player.
