  1. Did you read the article? 3rd hand smoke is simply the name they are giving the residue that is left behind. You know, that yellow stuff that stains everything.
  2. Disclaimer: I'm really anti-smoking, by the way. I don't even like it when a smoker is driving in front of me and I catch a whiff, I find it more obnoxious than one of those big buses. It is definitely one of my pet peeves.
  3. The problem with comparing smoking to cars or obesity is it does not work at all. I don't go outside and drive around in circles in my car to relax, I also don't drive my car into the house and just leave the engine running while my children are sleeping. The car gets me to work and serves a valuable purpose to society. We need food to survive, so again that is a lousy comparison. I do fully support schools teaching good nutrition and physical activity in order to combat bad eating habits that people are raised with, but children don't die just because their parents eat too much. I have asthma as well. I am one of three children. My mother smoked when she was pregnant with me, but not my two siblings. My siblings have never had an issue with asthma. It is super lame that I have to deal with an inhaler for the rest of my life because of a bad habit. My big problem is you still have a ton of people who start smoking every day. What is that about? It just seems like the drawbacks outweigh the benefits tremendously. I just don't get it.
  4. Grunt's was pretty fun, particularly how all the Krogan respond to him afterwards. I have no clue who Legion is.
  5. I actually have that week off, and it is only a 6 hour drive or so.
  6. Do you mean smoking is ridiculous?
  7. http://health.yahoo.com/news/afp/healthust...0209102313.html So basically the residue smokers leave behind is toxic. This really isn't surprising, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is significantly higher when there is a smoker in the household. It's fairly sickening.
  8. This company doesn't have a publisher paying the bills, so they are basically using their own money to fund the projects. Given that it is also not a genre that is considered commercially viable, there is very little chance they will attract a publisher anytime soon. So relying on donations seems pretty reasonable.
  9. Most of the time they check them in. Some also wear symbolic pendants or bracelets that fill the requirement. I just read that in California they can legally wear them to school if they are dulled and riveted into the sheath.
  10. I have quite a few Sikh students and I have asked them about the ceremonial dagger on occasion. Maybe they are just too Americanized, but none of them have an issue with not bringing it to school when the time comes for them to wear it. One of my students also said he has a wooden dagger to wear around the house and at community events, which seems like a pretty reasonable substitution.
  11. Yes, forget story and character development, this is what makes a game good.
  12. When a problem comes along You must whip it Before the cream sets out too long You must whip it When somethings goin' wrong You must whip it
  13. I'm taking credit for this. We better need to urinate, or it will be Fallout in NAME ONLY!
  14. Yes, I'm glad I didn't get married when I was 10. I take occasional breaks from hockey. Like right now, I've been out for seven weeks with a broken leg.
  15. I think we all better do better. Volophilosophy at its finest.
  16. "In Today's News, Progressives are lauding the decision by Iran to allow Music Television back on the airways."
  17. *screams in denial* I'd say it's almost exactly like Star Trek. They just needed Kaiden to wear a red shirt and it would be a dead ringer. I do think Geth sounds better than Borg.
  18. I think the only real difference between the two teams was the receivers. The Saint's really got it done with the ball, and that two point conversion was phenomenal. The Colts dropped a few big ones and it really made the difference.
  19. Good game so far. The Halftime show was pretty rough. I'm a huge fan of The Who, but they looked really old. It wasn't quite as thrilling as watching Prince shred his guitar during a monsoon.
  20. I think that happened with that Ender kid too. Congrats Krook, you going to play Ice Hockey in college?
  21. What happened to pictures and links, Llyr? You used to be so thorough.
  22. I'm guessing Jags treats relationships like a battle, where the object is to win, and showing your weaknesses is a huge folly. I have my fair share of marital issues, but trust isn't one of them. I also don't know why I would choose to share my life with someone if I did not trust them when I was vulnerable. I didn't call her to confess about getting a boner, I called her because I needed someone to talk to after a very uncomfortable situation.
  23. Is $800 really cheap though? It just seems like there are a few better options out there at that price range, and really you are only about $200 away from a good gaming laptop.
  24. A low end Alienware is like buying a Porsche Boxster. Totally misses the point of owning a Porsche.
  25. Funny. You would think they would run with the Stalker comparison, because it's really one of the few successful games to come out of Eastern Europe. At least that I can think of.
