  1. I'd definitely say direct targeting. In fact it seem like a fairly absurd question. There is a fairly large difference between 1st degree murder and manslaughter in a court of law.
  2. Ditto, that was a great game today. Although it irritates me to no end to see Viktor Kozlov playing well now that he's long gone from the Panthers. Hey, he was worse in San Jose! Drury just put USA up 3-2. This is a fantastic game. A lot of people were questioning whether Drury deserves to be on the team, but that's a big goal and I've always said he scores when it is most important.
  3. These hockey games are getting good! Russia-Czech Republic was as physical as any NHL game, and USA-Canada has been super high energy so far.
  4. I've been looking at the Droid for my next phone, just need to do some more research on it.
  5. EA is only shutting down the multiplayer servers, you can still continue to play the game as a single player title. That seems like a pretty obvious risk when you buy a game for online features. MMO's shut down as well. Also, the music DRM site for Walmart gave people ample time to take the music they had bought and put them on CD's. The entire reason they did that was because they shifted to non-DRM music, which would seem to be preferable to someone against DRM. I completely endorse your boycott. I think this is a stupid decision by Ubisoft and it will backfire terribly. But the whole scare tactics where these companies are purposefully trying to screw us is a bit overboard.
  6. I read this article and it made me think of this thread: http://kotaku.com/5476217/imaginary-triump...le+playing-game
  7. The Invention of Lying - Eh, it never really picked up. There were a few funny parts, but it felt like there were more missed opportunities. I don't really like Jennifer Garner either. Couples Retreat - Very funny, I had a good time watching it.
  8. Glad to hear he is stable. My thoughts are with you.
  9. I'm vomiting and pooping liquid at the same time. Joy.
  10. Kane in name only!
  11. I'd be worried about my 360 if it was taking a full minute to load areas. Have you had any other issues with it? I was having problems with Fable II loading up, and eventually the system RRoDed on me.
  12. I think I had that issue too. I believe a restart of the game or my PC worked. It only happened one time.

    Books

I've read every Sharpe series book, as well as the Authurian, the Saxons, and the Holy Grail stuff. But I honestly haven't seen any short stories out there by Cornwell. A few of the Sharpe books are short, I think under 200 pages. (Isn't it Bernard Cornwell, not Robert? Might be a regional publishing thing though, maybe he goes by both.) Looks like there are a couple http://www.amazon.com/Sharpes-Christmas-St...e/dp/0972222014 http://www.amazon.com/Sharpes-Skirmish-Ric...d_bxgy_b_text_c I haven't read them, so can't verify if they are any good. None of his books are really rubbish, though, so I imagine they are worth a gander.
  14. My load times in ME2 are super fast, 2-3 seconds, whereas the ME1 elevators were a good bit longer. I imagine this has more to do with system setups, probably available RAM and all that.
  15. Did you even look at my post? Israel is a brutal apartheid state which engages in regular terror attacks on civilian targets. Hey, I've never defended the methods of Israel. I find them completely flawed. I also find the surrounding Arab states completely flawed in the way they deal with Israel. There is no good guy, but wiping out a country is overboard when it comes to solutions and peaceful coexistence.
  16. Have you looked at the history of the region? That land has changed leadership an incredible amount of times. It has been Israel for over 60 years. The Palestinians have a long line to get in when it comes to people who have been pushed off their land.
  17. It's called MAD. Perhaps you've heard of it? Contrary to popular belief, the leaders of Iran still have their brains screwed on straight. lol yeah, Israel never threatens everyone. Oh wait, they threaten lots of people, such as Iran, Syria, and Palestine. Israel's military doesn't exist for fun; it's a silent threat to all its neighbors. I want to wipe Israel off the map. Does that mean if you gave me a nuclear bomb, I'd blow up Jerusalem (or any other Israeli city)? No. There is a huge difference between wanting a country or state gone, and being willing to use nuclear force. For example, the United States wants the Democratic People's Republic of Korea gone, yet is unwilling to use nuclear force (of course, this is partly MAD, since the largest mass of artillery in the world is aimed at Seoul). Despite being the only nation which has shown a willingness to use nuclear weapons in offensive strikes, the United States has invaded countries across the world without ever using the Bomb, many of whom could not defend themselves from it. That comes off as extreme LoF. You want to wipe an entire country off the map? It's really pushing into anti-Semitic territory.
  18. Here's a pic from Krook's last wall party:
  19. The planet scanning does take considerably less time than driving the Mako. But yeah, neither is fantastic.
  20. This: They do it because it is a little extra buck for them, it sells enough to pay for the porting and give them a little profit. It gets the effort it does because 90% is significantly more than 10%. I'm guessing the porting itself is much cheaper than going from the PC to a console. I'm no programmer, but I believe most of the work is done on a PC already, so it's easier to make it PC ready then console ready.
  21. Sadly it sounds like two other people died in the crash. They haven't released the information yet, probably some poor soul who makes $30k a year filing paperwork. I have zero sympathy for this guy.
  22. There is an enormous difference between no longer supporting a product and making it completely unusable, which is what you are implying. I have never seen a company suddenly pull the plug on a product without making some attempt at allowing the customer to break even, even when they company is going bankrupt. But if you have some examples, I would be delighted to read them.
  23. Even better, if Ubisoft ever decides on a whim to flip the switch to off on their website, you'll never be able to play said game again. Raithe's reasons were all reasonably likely, while yours is highly unlikely. I don't believe Ubisoft is run by Doctor evil and he's just waiting to flip a switch for destruction.
  24. There is a respawn in ME2? Maybe it's only in the upper difficulties, I didn't notice any respawn.
  25. I'm actually a lot more concerned that Pakistan has nukes than I am over Iran getting them.
