Terrorist attack in the US!
Yeah, the plane part cracked me up too. I'm sure all the folks living under the poverty line really sympathize with his financial woes.

Winter Olympics, eh.
Switzerland almost pulled a huge upset off against Canada. It was a fantastic game, as good as any NHL playoff matchup.

Ubisoft DRM confirmed to boot you from your singleplayer game when the net drops out
I'll really be surprised if they go through with this in the long run, there is already a ton of negative buzz out there about this plan. I'm guessing they'll try it on one game, get a ton of backlash, and back peddle faster than Will the almighty is going to peddle after every moderator PM's him with a piracy lecture. Will, you clearly feel some pang of conscious about downloading Ubisoft games. Go with it. The guilt you will feel later in life will follow you longer than any regret over not playing the latest and greatest game. It is something everyone comes to regret eventually.

Civilization V
I'm fairly surprised by this news because Civ 4 still looks great and isn't what I would call dated. I would think they would try to update something else. But financially I get it.

An interesting article about piracy
Wasn't there some research out there that showed second hand sales actually increase the sales of new games?

Yahtzee reviews
I think the issue is he liked ME2. The games he like never really get entertaining reviews.

American politicians attempt to intervene in internal politics of peaceful middle-eastern country.
I agree the US needs to stay out of this, but I'm a bit surprised LoF is against a people's movement like the one that has slowly been building up in Iran over the years.

LOST season six
It was pretty awesome that Sawyer saw right through the whole fake Locke thing. It made plenty of sense. I'm also guessing that Jin or Sun is marked for death, given only one was on the wall.

Berlusconi idea
It's ok, like many folks in the US, WoD probably doesn't have a lot of exposure to Berlusconi (I include myself in this group.) The media here really just portrays him as this stereotype of Italian Americans, loves the ladies and has possible ties to organized crime. He's like James Gandolfini.

Winter Olympics, eh.
I'm watching Hockey right now. I remember four years ago I was addicted to it because the NHL was on strike. Now I'm just watching to keep up with all my Sharks. So far they are looking good. I'm really shocked by the Luge accident. It seems like a really terrible design, not just the course, which I understand they are trying to make it tough, but just put up some padding around those metal beams or something! I imagine you will see some big changes in the sport for the future, but it is unfortunately too late for the young man who lost his life.

Dragon Age discussion
NWN was definitely criticized for the graphics, it also came out the same time as Morrowind. Oddly enough, over the next year or so modders managed to do some amazing things with the NWN engine, and really helped it reach its full potential. Basically it seemed like Bioware just didn't fully use the potential of the engine in their original campaign. The expansions and the user mods really did that. They get the credit for making such a great engine and toolset.

I don't think texting smiley's means he's in to you in that way. And grabbing your butt just mean he's into sports.

The Nature of RPGs
A PnP game, at its heart, is really just about a storyteller giving a group a choice of where they want the story to go. The levels, the combat, the gear can all change depending on the setting or the GM. So if a CRPG is just a PnP where the GM is replaced by a computer, then it is very much about story and choices.

What are you playing now?
I'm having an awful time with the download right now of STALKER on Steam. Don't worry too much about spoilers, I'm sure I can still muster up my girly screams when appropriate I do think it's a game I'll have to play after dark when the family is asleep already.

How do you perform a trophy kill in the AvP game demo?
This is an awesome case of internet searching and illiteracy.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite thread on Obsidian
ME2 really is setting the stage for ME3. Whereas ME1 was a pretty complete adventure, ME2 is really just a build up. It didn't bother me in the least because it was a fantastic build up, and given how my decisions in ME1 showed up in ME2, I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together in the third game.

Dragon Age discussion
Duncan was a prick. I found the whole Warden situation easier to swallow as a Dwarf Commoner. My first try was as a human noble, and it really felt forced. I wanted to go after my family's killer, not serve in an army. As a commoner, it was a step up.

I decided to pick up the original Stalker game off Steam. I'm still downloading it, but I always meant to play it and never got around to it.

Wow, was it a seacow steak? Of course. I have to swim with them first though. That's the best way to determine which is the most tender. And then after you've gained their trust you slice them up and barbecue them. Suitably creepy

Obsidian is making Wheel of time game
It's ok to be wrong, we all make mistakes sometimes. I originally read it as Obsidian was developing the title as well, but then I went back and looked at it again, and it is Red Eagle developing with a small in-house team.

What you did today
I went to the mall today. My daughter had a blast, they have this jumphouse place and she basically wore herself out running around. I bought my wife a necklace and bemoaned the monstrosity that Gamestop has become. Seriously, I could not even find the new game section, it was wall to wall used junk, and the PC section was shoved into a tiny corner as out of the way as possible. Sadly this same store used to be a Software Etc. and was were I bought many of my first PC games for my 386. It was a fun Valentines day.

Just beat it, I like the option to keep going as I didn't finish many of the N7 missions. Although I wonder how the import will be handled, hopefully those missions will carry over in the third game.
