  1. We have no real clue how many resource they are devoting to it. So the point I'm making is this could have a minimal impact on the games they are developing in studio. Again, it sounds like a consulting job, which can mean a lot of different things but probably is not a full development team. Red Eagle was pretty clear they're only supervising, while most of the development team will be supplied by Obsidian, doesn't sound like consulting to me.
  2. Who was that guy that used to argue KotOR was the greatest thing in the world while Mass Effect was the worst?
  3. Really Purkake? That's it? You are officially out of the pun club. Pack your mad libs and get out.
  4. I'm pretty sure we need to make as many bad puns as we can about why you are holding a screw in your hand. I'll start: "Boo prepared to bolt at the first sign of trouble" "The new Stalker game has really ratcheted up the intensity"
  5. Speaking of endlessly wandering Middle Earth, I was creeping through Mirkwood forest this morning. I know, sounds horrid

  7. It's ok, don't be afraid of the MMO. The MMO is your friend. Let the MMO in.
  8. Except according to the press release they aren't developing the WoT game.
  9. There are some absolutely terrible movies out right now. I thought about going to see Wolfman, but apparently it is terrible. I also thought a romantic comedy might be nice for a date night, but those look more horrid that usual too.
  10. I've noticed that on these forums when a game like DA, ME, and even Fallout 3 comes out, it is well received. People play it and talk about how much they enjoy it. Then a few months pass and suddenly it becomes mediocre or worse. What is that all about?
  11. I think it is Valentines in New Zealand already. I feel bad talking about it in front of you bachelors, but I'm taking my wife out for a nice dinner. We've got a sitter for the night for the wee one. I think she wanted to take me to a gun range in the afternoon too. I've never been, but she used to do it a lot and she was thinking it'd be a fun date. Either that or she's looking to cash in on the life insurance policy.
  12. Uh oh, he's getting angry...
  13. Yeah, I mentioned that earlier Slowtrain, but no one listens to me.
  14. Boo, you seem like a feller who can see reason. There is no progress to be made by debating Volourn. In fact it is quite likely that he is just a bot. That would explain his inability after 6 years on this forum to use quotes or spoiler tags.
  15. I wasn't talking about the FF MMO, I was talking about the single player console one coming out. Unless you are just poking fun at my general MMO-ness, in which case
  16. Wals, I'm sorry to hear that. Did she really just break up with you on V-Day? I thought only guys did that. She just lost out on all that free stuff! Sounds like she has issues.
  17. I just read a review for Final Fantasy Whatever, the new one coming out at the start of March. It looks good. I'll have to decide whether I'm up for another JRPG. I enjoyed the FF games when I was younger, but lately every time I try a JRPG I get tired of it very quickly.
  18. I never went down to talk to Jack because she is insane and living in the bowels of the ship.
  19. I believe it also has to do with how much coffee you drink and what type. Many of the Starbucks drinks are barely coffee, they are 90% sugar and milk.
  20. If the grind is really bothering you, just drop the difficulty to easy. It makes the combat much faster and then you can just focus on the story aspects.
  21. Oddly, I though the Deep Roads were the biggest combat grind. The big key (which is super reminiscent of every MMO out there) is to pick up multiple quests per hub, so at least you are only trudging through an area once. But again, I've been more impressed by the way they handled it in ME2. Maybe DA2 will feature similar improvements.
  22. That sounds like every RPG ever. I agree with you though, in fact a few of the ME2 quests have delighted me with an almost lack of combat on the missions.
  23. You need to check your brain, it is currently malfunctioning. It's been a rough week, I've been super tired. My wife is 6 months pregnant, my daughter has discovered that she can postpone her bedtime by saying she needs to go pee every 15 minutes, and Ashley broke up with me in Mass Effect 2.
  24. Monte made me laugh out loud in class It almost sounds like Obsidian is just acting as a consultant on this project. Sounds like a good deal for them, they get some extra income, and they probably aren't going to take a big hit if it crashes and burns. I could be wrong, but that was what I got from the press release. It really doesn't sound like this is a full scale project like AP or FO:NV for them.
  25. It always SOUNDS exciting. I actually thought the original Fable was a decent little adventure. I played the sequel and was enjoying it until it totally crashed on me. I've never had such a buggy game on a console, to be honest. I probably won't touch the third one just because of that. It basically corrupted my save so I could not finish the game.
