  1. Green Lantern - I loved it. I'm a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds, and this movie let him shine. I also really enjoyed the special effects, and for 300 million, that is expected. The otherworldly stuff was great, I loved all the different aliens. It was a very fun flick.
  2. Playing DS3 as well. I agree with the control issue, but I play everything on easy, so it probably won't slow me down. I'm enjoying the lore, Obsidian continues to be great at writing and story.
  3. The IT Crowd is just about the funniest thing I've ever seen. Here are a couple clips that made me laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N49fycoODR4
  4. Well, it's hard to argue with the results. LA Noire and RDR were simply amazing worlds to play in. I guess you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet nowadays.
  5. I believe that China is fairly untrustworthy when it come to cybercrime and hacking, but I just doubt that this group specifically is going to get away with it even in a place like China. The 'look the other way' approach can only go so far, when a group is this brash, it is just a matter of time until the poop hits the fan.
  6. What if they're Russian, Chinese or North Korean, though? Russia and China have authorities, and they certainly won't be protecting this type of behavior. Do they even have the internet in North Korea?
  7. I'm guessing the clock on these children being apprehended is ticking down rather quickly.
  8. Nightshape is just a negative nelly. It sounds like quite a few folks are enjoying DS3 as a solid action romp.
  9. I've had a former ice hockey defenseman reorder a large portion of my muscles on a monthly basis for over ten years now. Lots of ladies have come and gone during that time. And my back thanks me for it. I usually go see a lady every few months who seems to have harnessed some demonic strength in her thumbs. The hour long massage is pure torture, but I walk out feeling a billion times better.
  10. That would be fantastic too! I also would dig a Shadowrun game, as I imagine the OP would agree with that.
  11. What I love about Vin Deisel is he is a total geek who fell into this cool action hero thing. So now he spends his big movie money trying to make video games and Warhammer-esq movies.
  12. That's not very specific. I saw it on TV initially, and I was actually surprised it was for DS3. It was clever and had a great song choice. It caught my attention, which is rare for a commercial.
  13. What, exactly, do you dislike about the DS3 commercial?
  14. Really? It's actually a commercial (The DS3 one) and I thought it was great. The problem is they are both silly, but only one was being silly on purpose.
  15. At this stage in my life, none of those are really wanted at my parties. But the first two are the only ones that wouldn't bother me back in my college days.
  16. Not at all, at least in the US. I'm not sure if it has expanded at all, are you really going to argue that there was less drug use in the 60's and 70's?
  17. For the record, I also am talking more about decriminalization than making everything legal.
  18. Well, it has couch co-op, and that is fairly rare nowadays, so it makes sense to advertise it.

    NHL

And so begins the offseason... Boston should be able to keep most of this team together, which is always a nice thing for a championship group. I think the Sharks should make a bold move for a better defenseman, but I don't think they will. They are pretty locked into their top two lines. Devin Setoguchi seems to be the one guy that is tradeable and will net a good return. I also think they've got a decent option at center, they have two second line centers in Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture. I hate to think about trading Pavelski, but if it brings a top defenseman to the team, it might be worth it. edit: Oh, and I don't think anyone called the winner in the last round.
  20. Great commercial! Hopefully it gets some attention.
  21. I know what you are getting at, but drugs are criminalized here, so has that really addressed the overall problem? Again, I'm very much against drugs, including pot. But pot is something you can grow in your backyard, so criminalizing it is simply ineffective.
  22. My kid sister went through a few years of trouble with drugs. She was on the streets, in and out of rehab, and it was extremely difficult on our family. I don't even like to visit my hometown (Santa Cruz) because the drug culture is so rampant it angers me. She is doing great now, has a family and is happy. But I can't imagine how that would have turned out if she was put in prison. The possibility was there, she was using hard stuff, hanging out with bad people. What worked for her was rehabilitation and treatment. It allowed her to right the ship.
  23. Probably not worth it, if you aren't really into it. The first one gave some semi-interesting background on the gameworld, but the second one was, IIRC, absolutely dire. I think I read both of them in a plane, hmm... :D I thought the first one was fairly decent. It was mostly about political intrigue and did a nice job of introducing the world. The second book was fairly rubbish, but I find the wardens to be terribly boring. I doubt I'll read the third, I haven't even been able to get into DA2 so far.
  24. Seconded. Although Jehova's Witnesses are a close second. No birthdays, WTF?!? I know that this it's supposed to be a funny things thread and everything but this post it's just reminding me of my grandmother refusing a transfusion because she is a Jehova's Witness. I'm sorry to hear that Orogun
  25. I'm sure that will turn out well for them
