  1. I though BF2 was a blast, but I also loved the floating airships in BF2142.
  2. As Tale said, the difference between Battlefield and the Bad Company games is an emphasis on consoles and an actual single player campaign. Battlefield 3 has a single player campaign, I believe, so it is breaking from the tradition there. It is still a return to the big maps with jets and a ton of players, so I'll pick it up day one without question. I could care less about a single player element, I plan on hiding in the hills and shooting as many people as I can in the head from 300 yards out.
  3. Technically Battlefield games are on a 1-2 year cycle. The gap between BF2142 and BF3 was filled with the Bad Company games.
  4. Yeah, I don't know. It seems like the game has been moving away from the bruising style of the past, but is that making it more dangerous? Guys used to spend so much time tied up together that they didn't have the space to really skate. The three enforcers who died seems like a separate issue. It seems like these guys aren't being given a decent support system.
  5. AP still trumps DX with the dialogue, and I'm pretty sure the reactive storyline in AP is superior as well. Not that I'm knocking DX:HR, it's fantastic. I wish AP looked and played like DX. But they are both fantastic games for different reasons.
  6. Don't need heavy. Stun gun or 10mm + 1 emp grenade. I ended up figuring it out. Watching a video helped me realize that once I took out the heavies and the bot, I had a bit more time to pick off the other guys. I kept trying to rush and ended up getting myself killed. I used the typhoon twice, one to take out a couple heavies and one to take out the walker robot. Then I knocked out a couple guys with rifles, and used my pistol to shoot some conveniently placed explosive barrels near the snipers. The tranq gun was just too slow for me, plus it isn't always effective. Maybe I needed to upgrade it and my aim skills, but I still got it done with a pistol.
  7. I'm in beta and enjoying my time with it. Will I be playing this at launch? Yes, in fact I've already cancelled my WoW and Lord of the Rings accounts. Don't see how that is violating the NDA unless I go into specifics, which I'm not going to do. I'm pretty close to cancelling LotRO. I already cancelled Rift. I know I'm going to get way into TOR when it finally comes out and I doubt it is going to be a short term appeal.
  8. I'm trying to save the pilot but really doing a bad job. Curse my lack of any heavy armaments!
  9. It's not like Bush was the first president to lose the popular election and still win the presidency. I believe the electoral college is a better option than a simple majority. It keeps all states relevant.
  10. I love the double takedown. I use it quite often.
  11. It makes perfect sense to me. Why is that hard to understand? It's been ten years, it's time to stop pointing fingers and gesticulating angrily and start moving forward. When we bring up the perpetrators, we only serve them by doing so. Remember the fallen and rebuild.
  12. One time I electrocuted myself trying to fix my dryer. I decided at that point to leave any electrical repairs to electricians. I have been playing with my HP tablet, but it is quite limited. The apps are underwhelming, and I've had trouble getting my digital copies of movie to work. I'll keep trying, and hope that the Android OS port isn't too far away.
  13. I loved the warning emails that some computers have about how their inbox is almost at the 4 message limit. It was a clever spin on the fact that a real computer would have a ton of junkmail to look through.
  14. No, Invisible War is a good game. It just didn't measure up to the original and had some questionable design decisions.
  15. Hrm, I turned the turret on. Does that count as non-pacifist? I mean, they chose to run into the turret's line of sight.
  16. I went to a birthday dinner with my folks, and my dad bought me an HP Tablet. He said he spotted a couple online right when the price was slashed, and he decided there wasn't anything to lose at that price. I'm stoked, it's very slick. Now I just need to figure out how to get the Android OS to work on it.
  17. I'd say Epic Mickey is a pretty awesome concept, actually. The artistic design and edgy treatment of a rather simple kid's character is very cool. Unfortunately it is made for the Wii, which no one plays, and it apparently has some major control issues. If it was on the PC I'd buy it day one.
  18. Yeah, but even though gmail is huge now, Yahoo mail still has the edge in terms of numbers. I see Facebook being a similar case. Of course I did switch from yahoo to gmail in the last year, so I guess I'm an example of the eventuality of google winning.
  19. Yep, that's a typical BBQ here.

Robin Hood was an excellent little gem, kind of like Commandos mixed with The Lost Vikings.
  21. i think you need to carry at least 1 weapon, even if you plan on sneaking past every enemy in the game. the reason you need at least 1 weapon: boss fights are unavoidable. I use my pistol for mines as well. I'm sure there are plenty of uses for weapons that don't involve creating holes in people.
  22. Yes, I was surprised that the second battery didn't recharge, I almost felt like I wasted a praxis point on that. Thankfully the praxis points haven't been too hard to come by, although there are a lot of tough choices to make in how you spend them. So far my best investment has been the jumping one, followed by the double takedown and the various points I've put into hacking. I'm also starting to get much better at the hacking game. It's a decent minigame.

You know, the greater jihad is that is that of one's personal struggle to keep faith. The crazy levels for oby/LoF are higher than normal the last couple days.
  24. I hate you. Seriously, I really hope I get into some form of beta for the game, even if it's just a stress test.
  25. I like the takedown mechanic. You have to be more strategic than just sneaking around knocking everyone out quickly. Sometimes I'll knock a guy out, drag him away, recharge and then knock another guy out. Also the two person knockout aug is cool. Plus you have stun guns and tranq rifles, not to mention that Pep gun that blows folks back. The only person I've killed was the boss, and I turned a turret on which killed some folks. I also somehow killed a banger with a tranq gun, I'm not sure how that happened. Maybe I hit his eyeball.
