Deus Ex 3
I love the double takedown. I use it quite often.

"Minimum reference to Al Qaeda"
It makes perfect sense to me. Why is that hard to understand? It's been ten years, it's time to stop pointing fingers and gesticulating angrily and start moving forward. When we bring up the perpetrators, we only serve them by doing so. Remember the fallen and rebuild.

What you did today
One time I electrocuted myself trying to fix my dryer. I decided at that point to leave any electrical repairs to electricians. I have been playing with my HP tablet, but it is quite limited. The apps are underwhelming, and I've had trouble getting my digital copies of movie to work. I'll keep trying, and hope that the Android OS port isn't too far away.

Deus Ex 3
I loved the warning emails that some computers have about how their inbox is almost at the 4 message limit. It was a clever spin on the fact that a real computer would have a ton of junkmail to look through.

What are you playing now?
No, Invisible War is a good game. It just didn't measure up to the original and had some questionable design decisions.

Deus Ex 3
Hrm, I turned the turret on. Does that count as non-pacifist? I mean, they chose to run into the turret's line of sight.

What you did today
I went to a birthday dinner with my folks, and my dad bought me an HP Tablet. He said he spotted a couple online right when the price was slashed, and he decided there wasn't anything to lose at that price. I'm stoked, it's very slick. Now I just need to figure out how to get the Android OS to work on it.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
I'd say Epic Mickey is a pretty awesome concept, actually. The artistic design and edgy treatment of a rather simple kid's character is very cool. Unfortunately it is made for the Wii, which no one plays, and it apparently has some major control issues. If it was on the PC I'd buy it day one.

Do you use Facebook?
Yeah, but even though gmail is huge now, Yahoo mail still has the edge in terms of numbers. I see Facebook being a similar case. Of course I did switch from yahoo to gmail in the last year, so I guess I'm an example of the eventuality of google winning.

Yep, that's a typical BBQ here.

Robin Hood was an excellent little gem, kind of like Commandos mixed with The Lost Vikings.

Deus Ex 3
i think you need to carry at least 1 weapon, even if you plan on sneaking past every enemy in the game. the reason you need at least 1 weapon: boss fights are unavoidable. I use my pistol for mines as well. I'm sure there are plenty of uses for weapons that don't involve creating holes in people.

Deus Ex 3
Yes, I was surprised that the second battery didn't recharge, I almost felt like I wasted a praxis point on that. Thankfully the praxis points haven't been too hard to come by, although there are a lot of tough choices to make in how you spend them. So far my best investment has been the jumping one, followed by the double takedown and the various points I've put into hacking. I'm also starting to get much better at the hacking game. It's a decent minigame.

Libya 2
You know, the greater jihad is that is that of one's personal struggle to keep faith. The crazy levels for oby/LoF are higher than normal the last couple days.

What are you playing now?
I hate you. Seriously, I really hope I get into some form of beta for the game, even if it's just a stress test.

Deus Ex 3
I like the takedown mechanic. You have to be more strategic than just sneaking around knocking everyone out quickly. Sometimes I'll knock a guy out, drag him away, recharge and then knock another guy out. Also the two person knockout aug is cool. Plus you have stun guns and tranq rifles, not to mention that Pep gun that blows folks back. The only person I've killed was the boss, and I turned a turret on which killed some folks. I also somehow killed a banger with a tranq gun, I'm not sure how that happened. Maybe I hit his eyeball.

Deus Ex 3
Huh, I have an Intel/ATI setup, it's running as smooth as butter. Just finished the boss fight, which was a bit unfun. But the rest of the game has been a total blast. I would say it is just as good as the original.

Bin Laden is dead
Yeah, unfortunately his only real success has been internationally. The two wars, while still moving at a snails pace, haven't gotten worse. He has had much better interactions with foreign powers than the previous administration. The revolutions that have forced changes in the Middle East and Africa can also be spun as a positive for him. But none of that really matters, because the economy is effed up, and he hasn't been seen as handling it well at all. He can't bridge the two parties, and his approval ratings are in the dumps. He's going to need a miracle, or a Republican party that gives their ticket to a moron. The latter is unfortunately very likely.

Libya 2
I just read a great story about how the rebels are now going through all the expensive stuff from the Ghadaffi family had. Apparently some folks drove off with a BMW, Audi, and a Lamborghini one of the sons owned. I imagine that will stick out a bit rolling through Libyan neighborhoods.

That worries me more than some earthquake.

Deus Ex 3
I prefer to get all my PC games at Best Buy anyways, since they haven't shoved them into a dirty corner in the back of their stores like Gamestop.

Deus Ex 3
Load times for levels and stuff are fine, I have no idea why it take soooo long to load a saved game. I'm a bit anal about not raising any alarms, so it's quite inconvenient. Everything else is fantastic though. Don't dawdle to the first mission, by the way

What are you playing now?
I agree Age of Conan looks gorgeous. I've got a pretty nice rig, but I am having some performance issues with it. Still, when it runs smoothly it makes me feel like I stepped into Robert E. Howard's book. I broke down and bought the Rise of the Godslayer expansion because I wanted to see the new city. I know WAR was trying to capture the tabletop game ascetic, which is a bit cartoony to begin with. But it didn't help that the game just seemed unfinished, like they never got to polish it correctly. It's a bad start when you cut a ton of professions and starter cities a month before release.

Wussy east coaster, 5.8 isn't even worth getting out of bed in California.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Yep, scaling isn't bad per se, but it was atrociously implemented in Oblivion.
