I'm supposed to go to the doctor about my blood pressure, it has been high the last few times I've been to a doctors office. Apparently it is genetic, my mom is very healthy but she has to take medication for her blood pressure. I'm in my early 30's so I guess this is the time where stuff starts to happen like this. I'd barely call it a panic attack, so hopefully it was nothing. But there have been more of these moments where I feel my blood pressure rising lately. It's been pretty much this last year, and I think I can say it has quite a bit to do with having a baby and a 4-year old around the house. A good night's sleep is a rarity and the house erupts in chaos every few minutes.

I was going to say this reminds me of that time I went along with my wife to Yoga Pilates. Brutal stuff.

I'm in a bit of shock that San Jose is up 3-0. I hope they finish it off quickly, I don't want the Wings to hang around. I am shocked at how the Caps went down, but the Lightning do look like a very dynamic team right now. It's looking like the Bruins versus the bolts in the East, although we've seen Boston go up 3-0 on Philly before... ;-)

I hear the sequel "Marriage" is really good at the start, but goes down hill quickly. depends on how good a player you are, both during the game prior to wedding, and after marriage. If you did well enough, it only get's better as you get further along. That's a bug. I hear it gets fixed in the next patch. I downloaded the boy and girl DLC's. They were pretty pricey, and there was a lot of grinding out diaper and bottle changes, but the AI is super impressive.

I get that I should be doing it, I mean I really want to do it. I want to be the best teacher I can, of course. I just feel like I have no feasible shot at success. I could do it with 20 students per class and about half the amount of curriculum. That's why I enjoyed teaching summer school, I had half the kids and I was only expected to cover one unit.

I had this slight panic attack today. We are having a meeting on assessing student learning, and how to help students self-assess. I started to panic. I have 37 students in every class and I have to cover 11 huge units in one school year. How the **** do I also teach them to self-assess, then look at what they learned and go back over concepts they didn't get? My blood pressure went up and I excused myself from the room. I need to stop typing because it is happening again.

I think maybe there is a language barrier or something. He seems like a reasonable enough fellow, but there are some pretty big gaps in communication going on between the two threads.

Numbersman seems to be missing the point of this thread. Feel free to take it to the other Osama one.

So is it worth getting? I'm still enjoying Warband, but there wasn't much of a jump from the original M&B and Warband. Is this a bigger change?

I don't think there is anything to be gained by showing the corpse, and it is in very bad taste.

Calax got a guild charter for Obsidian Society, we just need 4 signatures. Hopefully we can catch you on Malcador.

I am under the impression that raids into Pakistan territory by US special forces are somewhat regular. While I doubt the Pakistani government is happy about that, they seem to have accepted it in order to secure necessary aid.

Apparently it was a mechanical issue, so they just torched it themselves.

There were zero casualties among the attackers. The 40-minutes was probably mostly spent watching for movement to make sure everyone was dead after the initial barrages of fire.

I play BC2 once or twice a week. I keep looking at the Vietnam expansion, but I don't think I play it enough to justify the purchase. Plus, BF3 is coming out soon, and I'll get that on day 1.

That's a tricky question. First off, you get three active trees at once. So right now I have two healing professions and an offensive casting one. But then you can create other 'roles' which are like specs, where you have other trees active. You can switch them on the fly. It also doesn't seem to be as gear-centric as WoW, although I haven't played far enough to confirm this.

I played a Paladin in WoW to level 60, and I enjoyed the class, but I wouldn't really say I could heal or DPS anywhere close to a priest or a rogue/wizard. But honestly it is hard to explain how different it is. There is just a lot more flexibility in the system. Now this might be a balance issue, I haven't paid much attention to that, but there are a lot of creative functional builds out there.

It isn't the only difference, although it is a very visible one, as rifts open up all over the place. But it really isn't about raiding, it's about ease of grouping. You run up to a rift and you are suddenly in a public group, working with people to shut it down. These type of automatic public groups are commonplace. They are really going after the idea of massively multiplayer in the MMO name. Grouping isn't just easy, it is automatic. These groups often turn into raid groups when they get big, but there is no management necessary like in an endgame raid. The second big change is the class system. It allows for a ton of variety. I was upset that Blizzard never added new classes with the expansions (I thought the Death Knight was a bit of a cheat.) Rift allows me to really try some different types of characters, for example a cleric that can tank, DPS, or heal. It's also just a completely different universe. The story and characters are refreshingly new for me, they've kept me engaged. It's definitely a standard MMO, I just think it has elevated the genre by refining a lot of the mechanics other games have had. It's worth a try for anyone who enjoys MMO's.

It really is like you aren't trying anymore. What happened to you?

They also start you out slowly with the GUI. The first couple levels have very little going on and it is all slowly explained to you.

There is a bit of crazy in this thread. I agree it is unseemly to celebrate the death of someone. I personally would never attend a parade over something like this. But you know what is a heck of a lot worse than an unseemly celebration? TERRORISM

There were quite a few invasions this Sunday, and I was pretty surprised how active the community was, particularly with being in the beginner zone. We took down some pretty big bosses. I've got my cleric up to level 16 and it is going smoothly, I hope we stick to this server because I do not want to play through these quests a fourth time.

I'm not going to be lighting off fireworks, but I probably will sleep a bit more soundly knowing there is one less monster in the world.
