Commercial success
I disagree with that. Some games are designed around an extended playing time. DS3 is primarily a campaign game, you play through a story. Sure, you can play from all 4 characters and you can mix it up with co-op, but it isn't going to warrant the hours that an online shooter like Team Fortress 2 or an open world modder's dream like Oblivion. Which is great by me, I love a good story.

What happened?
It's a bug from the patch, will probably be fixed by tomorrow. There is a workaround I believe, but I'd rather just wait for a fix.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
RDR is a very complete experience and almost a must-have. LA Noire is worth picking up because it does some amazing things, but it has a fair share of flaws.

That's awesome. Good luck with the goat!

I had the WoW thing happen as well, even though I hadn't played in years. Gfted, they (the gold farmers) actually activate your account and then use it to do their dirty business. I'm not quite sure how they got the information, I sent a message to Blizzard about it and they said my yahoo email was compromised. I changed some stuff and everything stopped. I wonder if it was my smartphone that caused the leak? I had bought one fairly recently, it was the only big change I had. Ah well, at least it was just an MMO account and not my bank accounts!

Does Microsoft have its own music store? Steam seems a lot closer to iTunes than an internet browser.

I almost missed that. What kind of software developer has the time to play through a game 4 times in less than a week?

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Exactly, this is a lot different than using a different browser.

What are you playing now?
The demo was the very beginning of the game. Of an Obsidian game. And there were sidequests and other stuff cut. It seems to be the norm with Obsidian games, Alpha Protocol and NWN2 had the same slow start for me before picking up steam. FO:NV is the only game that I felt really started off with a bang. But hey, way better than the alternative.

Pictures of your games
I started building a big castle in Minecraft, but then it started to feel like work, and I realized I could go fix things on my real house if that was really important to me. Sweet crib though

I don't know why they showed that picture, it was taken when he was 13 and he is now 19.

Was it 200 million? Ah, that does sound more likely, although it is still an insane number. It is going to be difficult to break even with that type of budget, I'd imagine.

DS3 is the first decent Dungeon Siege Game
I played DS1 when it came out, and while I thought the engine was somewhat impressive, I found it extremely boring. I was clicking on stuff and it was dying and then I clicked some more. I picked up some companions who had no personality and then I killed a bunch of stuff and I didn't know why. Then I tried DS2 because folks said it was better, but it wasn't. When Obsidian got the license for Dungeon Siege, I didn't get it. It was a generic action-RPG set in a generic fantasy world. I worried that they would not be able to infuse it with their magic. I was happily wrong, they've crafted a great story and introduced a solid cast of characters. They've created an engaging character leveling system and the combat has kept me on my toes. Well done!

What if Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound was released?
Hey, did you play Dungeon Siege 3 yet?

Green Lantern - I loved it. I'm a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds, and this movie let him shine. I also really enjoyed the special effects, and for 300 million, that is expected. The otherworldly stuff was great, I loved all the different aliens. It was a very fun flick.

What are you playing now?
Playing DS3 as well. I agree with the control issue, but I play everything on easy, so it probably won't slow me down. I'm enjoying the lore, Obsidian continues to be great at writing and story.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Well, it's hard to argue with the results. LA Noire and RDR were simply amazing worlds to play in. I guess you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet nowadays.

I believe that China is fairly untrustworthy when it come to cybercrime and hacking, but I just doubt that this group specifically is going to get away with it even in a place like China. The 'look the other way' approach can only go so far, when a group is this brash, it is just a matter of time until the poop hits the fan.

What if they're Russian, Chinese or North Korean, though? Russia and China have authorities, and they certainly won't be protecting this type of behavior. Do they even have the internet in North Korea?

I'm guessing the clock on these children being apprehended is ticking down rather quickly.

Nightshape is just a negative nelly. It sounds like quite a few folks are enjoying DS3 as a solid action romp.

What you did today
I've had a former ice hockey defenseman reorder a large portion of my muscles on a monthly basis for over ten years now. Lots of ladies have come and gone during that time. And my back thanks me for it. I usually go see a lady every few months who seems to have harnessed some demonic strength in her thumbs. The hour long massage is pure torture, but I walk out feeling a billion times better.

Darksun
That would be fantastic too! I also would dig a Shadowrun game, as I imagine the OP would agree with that.

What I love about Vin Deisel is he is a total geek who fell into this cool action hero thing. So now he spends his big movie money trying to make video games and Warhammer-esq movies.
