I'm pretty sure comic books have jumped way past the teenage entertainment genre. They are mostly family entertainment, or summer action entertainment. They are hitting a very large audience right now, and you have the more adult tones of the recent Batman's and the Watchmen, plus you have the more family friendly tones of Avengers and Iron Man. They haven't really been focused on the teenage demographic for decades.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution looks better than that. I kind of looks like Alpha Protocol, really.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
I'm not surprised by the Blizzard thing at all. Awhile back, my WoW account got hacked after being inactive for years. There was no leak on my part, I even changed passwords and emails and it happened again. It was clearly a problem with security on their end, but they just kept repeating the same stuff about it being my issue. Luckily I'm not really a fan of their games, so no real loss on my part.

Tax rates are already at historically low levels, btw. I'm all for lowering government spending, but the solution needs to be a mix of cutting costs and taxing effectively.

Just saw the Red Dawn trailer. Guard Dog will be upstate when the scary North Korean paratroopers land. He will dig a hole and drink heavily until they go home. xD Sounds like a typical weekend. We really need to save some of this material for when he gets back

Caught the trailer for a Red Dawn remake. The movie looks like a fun little action flick, and I really did enjoy the original. But I do kind of wonder what the message is here. We aren't in a Cold War anymore. The bad guys look Chinese, but given that China is the US's biggest trading partner, that seems like an awkward choice. I don't know, I guess I should just realize it is a silly movie and not a political statement

Republican Candidates
Yeah I've never understood how anyone believes anything either party is saying. It's all hyperbole. It's worst in the media, there doesn't seem to be any journalistic integrity anymore, you just make stuff up that sounds insane.

While all Tea partiers may be fiscal conservatives, not all fiscal conservatives are tea partiers.

Republican Candidates
While I agree that there isn't a real stellar candidate here, people seriously put too much stock in who the President is. The balance of power is extremely effective at limiting what the executive branch can do.

So Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate. I don't know a ton about this guy, but this seems like a decent choice, much better than Sarah Palin. He's young, he's fiscally conservative, he has experience in Washington. I still don't think it is enough to counter the fact that Romney is not really very popular. The guy needs momentum, and I don't know if this pick will give him enough to make it a strong challenge.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
Cant, EA has all their new stuff on Origin and not on Steam. It is not clear whether it was Valve or EA's decision to do this.

Guild Wars 2
Just finished the original Prophecies campaign for Guild Wars. It was a lot of fun, and it sets the stage for GW2 nicely. The last level was a bit tough, but I joined a group of real people and it made it much easier. After 7 years it held up surprisingly well. The gameplay is still pretty iffy, they really improved that in GW2 tremendously. Oh there is another stress test today from 4-8 EST or something like that.

Guild Wars 2
I was put off by that picture originally, but they aren't all cute and cuddly. Most of them remind me of mole people with razor teeth and big eyes. The video doesn't show it, but the way they jump is hilarious. http://youtu.be/3EaC02CfOd0

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Not sure if serious, but if you notice there is actually only one film from 1997 on that list, and none after 97. So Titanic (1997 release) is barely at the point where it would really be considered. It did win 11 academy awards, so your argument is pretty shaky here. Glad to hear about the pacifist playthroughs in Dishonored. I still plan on getting it on day 1. Kubrick only won one academy award and it was for "special effects". That's how meaningless those trinkets are. So basically you guys are saying a film can be incredibly profitable, receive great reviews from critics, appeal to a widely diverse audience from ages 8 to 80, and garner a ton awards, but that doesn't make it a great movie? I know it's trendy to hate on stuff that's popular, but we've reached the point of absurdity.

Doesn't include Fight Club, therefore it is suspect. Fight Club is also barely eligible at this point as a 1999 release.
