The crazy train is really picking up speed in this thread. Maybe we should talk about something less controversial, like the ending of Mass Effect 3.

This might be a good spot to post my issue with an Ipad. My wife broke hers the other day, dropped it and it hit a corner, shattering the screen pretty well. It is only a few months old, but it was issued to her by her school. So we have to replace it, but I'm scratching my head over the options. First, her district apparently didn't bother to get decent insurance on these. So where most districts charge $50-100 to replace stuff like this, they want to charge my wife $400. The Apple store has offered to replace it at $250. It is their standard half price for anything that needs to be replaced. There are some places that offer to repair them, I believe it costs about $100 or so to do that. I haven't taken it in to see if it qualifies, the case itself is slightly dinged. Now my biggest concern is we don't actually own this device. I hate to drop a huge amount on this when it still belongs to the school district. Apparently my wife signed some contract back in the day that makes her responsible for it though. So what do you guys think? Do I have any other options? She won't let me just duct tape the stupid thing.

2 minutes is quite a bit in a hockey game, especially NHL level. That's 3-4 extra shifts a game. Particularly when we are talking about 2 minutes over the normal maximum for a player, which Volourn is right when he says 18-22 minutes. I haven't seen many Devils games, but I'm assuming that means they are lacking some depth.

I worked as a security guard in college for awhile and was reading a few paperbacks a week it seemed. That really helped pass the time in between fighting mummies.

The funny thing is, despite my criticism, I'll probably still give it a try eventually. As I said, the gameplay was solid in the first and I'm glad to see they are opening up the world instead of relying on instances all the time. I thought Rift looked a bit generic and that setting ended up being pretty cool, so who knows?

Well said. As a regular consumer of video games, I consider it in my best interest to make sure the developers and even the publishers profit from my purchase. That is how I guarantee the continued health of the industry. I'm not convinced those CD key sites are doing that.

Before you get too up in arms, Oner, I did enjoy the combat and gameplay of the original Guild Wars and I'm sure that GW2 does a great job at that. This really is a matter of taste, so no need to get too defensive about it. It really comes down to the character models for me. The stance and the body type are very different. Your character in GW2 has a very waif-ish look. Here is one from Tera, which actually looks good but is still not the type of character style that appeals to me: Here is some Final Fantasy doll image.

I guess I can understand not liking the look of the Star Wars universe, but at least it is unique. You can pretty much always tell it is TOR when you look at a screenshot. Guild Wars looks terribly generic, and it totally looks like anime. Plus I can hardly tell the difference between this, Tera, Final Fantasy, Lineage, and every other game out there.

I had a similar situation, but then I started taking my paperbacks and putting them in a classroom library for my students to peruse. So now I've just got hardbound books on the home shelves.

We definitely do not represent the average gamer here though. This is very much a niche group.

It is pretty awesome that to see some new blood coming out of the west. None of these teams have ever won a cup. St. Louis over LA in 6. I think the Kings will make a better go of it than the Sharks, but the Blues really are defensive studs. Elliot will match Quick and we might see a few 2-1 games here. Nashville over Phoenix in 7 - Another strong goaltending matchup. I think the Predators have the edge with experience. NYR over Washington in 6 - Goaltending makes the difference here again. Philly over New Jersey in 6 - After siding with the goalies in the other series, I'll go with the high powered offense here.

10 mil for a truly pathetic mmo. I think AoC cost them around 80 mil. And it ended up being free to play, cause it was **** and nobody wanted to play it. ****ty mmos don't have a positive ROI. But what do publishers know? "Oooh they're offering us a new world of warcraft basically. ****ing A, let's finance it!" I think Age of Conan still turned a profit, actually. It's still chugging along with a pretty loyal fanbase at least.

I can see that. There are definitely some things that make me think of the Clone Wars when I am playing. Although I do think it looks a good deal better, some of the planets are simply beautiful. But I enjoyed the stylization of WoW too, so I'm not too picky about this stuff.
