  1. There are a lot of options, LC. Mine is 26 feet with no slideouts, and it is small enough to drive comfortably down most streets. Parking it is a bit of a struggle, but we find a way. You might be comfortable in a Class B RV, which is basically a large van. They have decent gas mileage, and they can come with all sorts of different amenities and layouts. But they are still a bit tight for my comfort level, and they actually run more expensive than the type I'm driving. That's because the Class B is a full vehicle, while mine is basically a chassis with a wooden house built on top. The sprinter type Class C's are pretty awesome, a little wider but a lot more liveable. Plus those magic buttons that make the RV bigger are great, they are called slide outs and they give you a lot more floor space when you are parked without making it hard to maneuver on the road.
  2. We are covering about 2,000 miles on this trip, so I expect about it to cost $800 in gas. That is getting 10 miles to the gallon at about $4.00. In the end I will probably spend a bit less than that, but I always try and guess high when budgeting. With the rising gas prices in the last few months I did trim the mileage of the trip considerably. That may seem crazy high, but really the only other thing I need to budget for on these trips is the RV parks, which are usually about $40 a night, and any rental car we decide to use. We save a lot of money on food, in 10 days we have never eaten breakfast or dinner out, and we've packed lunches on quite a few days as well. Basically I'm spending the same amount on food as I would if I stayed home. Also we bought a CityPass for Seattle, which saved us about half on the entrance fee to all these museums and attractions. My rough estimate of costs on most RV trips is $500 a week. That means $500 over what I pay in a typical week staying at home. It's really pretty reasonable, and it is honestly way more comfortable than staying at hotels.
  3. Day 10: This is our last day in Seattle. We headed to the Pacific Science Center, which was built back for the world fair in the 60's. That's how old some of the exhibits looked as well. It was still a very fun place for the kids to run around. We knew we only had a couple hours of sunshine before the thunderstorms rolled in, so we made the most of it. After lunch we headed back to the RV and I returned our red jetta to the rental dealership. It was a great week in Seattle, tomorrow we leave for a campground in Oregon, which will be a lot more nature orientated.
  4. I thought No Country For Old Men was a very good movie, but I always try and not let a lackluster ending disrupt my entire entertainment experience.
  5. The couple that owned our RV before us was from the UK. They came to the East Coast, bought the RV, traveled around for about a year, then sold the RV on the West Coast and flew home. Pretty interesting way to vacation.
  6. Day 9: We went to the Seattle aquarium, which was nice. There were fish and stuff. The real treat was going back to Piroshky Piroshky. After that we went grocery shopping, and now we are back at the RV running a couple loads of laundry. Tomorrow is the last day in Seattle. Oh, it's pouring down rain right now. Very Seattle-ish.
  7. Grats! I'm stoked if I get par, usually.
  8. The weird thing is Christian Bale is an amazing actor. But yeah, he doesn't have the charm of Keaton. I think he's actually too serious of an actor to really pull off a super hero movie, even one as dark as the current Batman flicks.
  9. I read the Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter book, it is pretty decent.
  10. Day 8: We went back to Pike's Market, because there was a lot left to do there. The food stalls are just fantastic there, I walked by a place called Piroshky Piroshky and I couldn't resist the smell. My son and I gobbled down a beef and cheese Piroshky super fast. I plan on going back tomorrow and trying the apple cinnamon roll. We had some great clam chowder as well, then we took a boat tour around the harbor. Pike's Market is just impressive, it is crowded and has all these twists and turns, but around every corner is some unique food or store. We plan on going back for one more day there.
  11. Well go see the psychiatric professional, it will give you something to do. Maybe Iowa is just not a good place for Obsidianites
  12. Hey Calax, take care of yourself. Are you away from home? Do you have a therapist in the area? Take the time to go see someone and get stuff off your chest. We are here for you, but a real professional is a good idea if you are feeling this down.
  13. That's weird, I feel like I'm always working on a class quest.
  14. Day 7: We met my cousin and Aunt for lunch at Elliot's Oyster Bar, it was very tasty. One of the best things about the RV is the ability to travel around and see family we don't get a chance to see very often. Plus it doesn't involve us staying with anyone, so we get enough family but not too much Afterwards we walked along the waterfront and ended up at Pike's Market. This is where they do the famous fish throwing. Logan wasn't too impressed. We bought some frozen ravioli's, a few seasoned steaks, and some other good groceries before heading home. It was a beautiful day, we have one more good one before the rain hits.
  15. You haven't played it yet? It is KotOR 3-10. The Sith Inquisitor storyline is better than anything in KotOR 1 & 2. I'm saving up this quote for when I'll be playing the F2P. I'm not sure you really understand how f2p works. You pay for content in that system. Each game handles it slightly differently, but you typically don't get to the high level stuff without paying for it. In TOR that would mean paying to finish the individual story lines.
  16. She can't get libraries to take them? Heck, I'll take a few hundred pounds worth. I couldn't get the link to show up.
  17. Thanks. I'm not sure if the Partridge family plan will work for us, we need a few more kids I think.

  19. Day 6: We went to the Museum of Flight, right next to Boeing. It was very impressive, I took a ton of pictures of WW2 planes like the Spitfire and Mustang. Bonus points if you recognize my shirt: We got to walk through a few full size planes, including a Concorde and a decomissioned Air Force One. The World War I exhibit was pretty great too, here is Logan creeping cautiously through a bunker.
  20. Once you have a daughter, you'll realize they are magnetically drawn towards Barbies and pink stuff. Trust me, I've been trying to push sci-fi on my daughter since she was born.
  21. A server is definitely a community, and a unique one at that. The best two I've played on were Winterfell in Asheron's Call and Windfola in Lord of the Rings Online. So far I haven't really clicked in on any TOR servers.
  22. The Tillamook factory is really impressive, the gift store is more like a grocery with all the different types of food available. We bought milk, yogurt, ice cream, fudge, chocolate milk mix, and a few different types of cheese. And so far it's all a bit tastier than what you find on the store shelves, although maybe that's a mental thing!
  23. Day 4 was rough, a long drive coupled by getting lost for about an hour and traffic near Tacoma. It was a very pretty drive though, we stuck on the coast through Oregon and Washington and passed over a very odd bridge. Here it is, I obviously didn't want to try and take a picture while we went over it. We pulled into a site that night around 8 PM, and it wasn't very level. But the next morning we got a better site and a new red jetta to get around town in. Day 5: We visited the Space Needle. It was up pretty high. I feel like I did something necessary to the trip, like an achievement in a video game, and now I can insert that into conversations. My wife wasn't comfortable with the height, my kids loved it. Logan looks mad because he wants to climb the rails and we won't let him. Here is Logan looking a bit happier in front of a large monitor. I have no idea where he gets that. Then we went to the Experience Music Project Museum, which was seriously the best museum I have ever been to. I bought a Firefly shirt, and they had a great exhibit for horror movies. My son went around growling at all the monsters, including a huge guy from Aliens. They had a feature on Evil Dead 2 as well. Definitely a recommended experience, the music exhibits were all great too.
  24. My problem isn't the ultraviolence in games, it's the fact so few games don't have violence. I want some alternatives to blowing everybody away.
