  1. Larian Studios has always kept things tongue in cheek when it came to story and quests. Their humor was part of the charm for Divine Divinity for me, and that was still present in D:OS Heck, with a name like Divine Divinity, it better be funny.
  2. Seriously, Minecraft is a huge property driven by an entire generation of young people. They aren't going to care that Notch is not involved, and they are going to convince their parents to buy it on every device they can. Plus the merchandise is huge. I'm sure the Minecraft Animated Series is dropping any day now.
  3. There are plenty of other dens of scum and villainy to spout racist nonsense on. I hang out here because some civility is expected.
  4. See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen.
  5. Originally when I heard this story, I was on the husband and wife's side, and expected that they would win a decent lawsuit against the department (which is how this should be handled.) But that TMZ story definitely changes things.
  6. None of that sounds like corruption. It sounds like capitalism, of course the higher paying customers are going to get better treatment! That's how the world works. But seriously, how does it affect you if a bunch of other people have a helmet? Just enjoy the game for yourself, or move on.
  7. Oh I wouldn't recommend it to you Volourn. You would hate it.
  8. I'm guessing you haven't played it. Is its gameplay compelling when you play it? I ask because it don't look very interesting when you watch others to play it. Yep, I'd say it's one of the best shooters I've ever played. I'm not really a fan of FPS games in general, but it is easy to pick up, fun to try all the different guns, vehicles,, grenades, etc. It might not be very complex, but that's a plus for a noob like me.
  9. I play a ton of MMO's, and I have no idea what you are talking about. It's just a video game maybe not taking it so seriously would help? Also you are being super vague here, what is the game, what do you even mean by corruption? The company running the game can pretty much do whatever they want to the game world. If they want to make it pay to win or whatever, that is their prerogative. You as a consumer do not have to pay for anything you don't like, that's pretty much where your rights end. Free to play MMO's have always concerned me, because I know it is expensive to develop and run these games and clearly they need to make their money somewhere, and I'd rather play a flat fee than get nickle and dimed to death.
  10. The world is a crazy place run by super crazy people. Or is it a super sane place run by no one? If you think the world is super sane, you're one of the crazies. So crazy it just might work?
  11. Probably today, it is so big company that it will mess things constantly, if not in their main products (although I would say that The Lone Ranger (2013) at least was mess up and one could also argue same about John Carter (2012)) then in their byproducts like for example leaving certain main characters out of their action figure sets or t-shirts etc.. I'll give you Lone Ranger, although I never saw that one. Still, it seems like they hit a lot more homers than duds.
  12. When was the last time Disney messed something up?
  13. The world is a crazy place run by super crazy people. Or is it a super sane place run by no one?
  14. Why? edit: Since you didn't answer this earlier, maybe I am not being clear. What makes that million units line the difference between boom and bust?
  15. I'm only allowed unsupervised in the C&C section. It's like a foreign language.
  16. Pillars of Eternity will probably not go over a million. Neither Alpha Protocol or Dungeon Siege III managed to break that mark. Granted those are very different games, but if we are looking at Obsidian's selling power based solely on their name, it's clearly not strong enough to pull in a million in sales without some extra name power. Plus both of those games had the benefit of being multi-platform, so it's an obstacle for PoE to sell only to PC gamers. But why does it need to sell a million? It's limited to one platform, it already raised $4 million from a small audience, and it's a new property. It's a niche product. It will probably wow the RPG crowd, but so did Divinity. It will sell hundreds of thousands of copies, but a million is about as likely as it was for Divinity. It's an unrealistic expectation.
  17. We already have a thread with scantily clad ladies, so I'm not sure why we need it spilling into other threads. Although this thread is not exactly a shining moment in Obsidian history.
  18. Reached level 43 with my Panda Monk in WoW, it's been a lot of fun visiting all the old areas from when the game came out and seeing it updated. It's flying by nicely, no grind at all.
  19. It's really bizarre. I knew I didn't like the Cespedes trade, but it really seems like they've lost their mojo completely. I hope they can figure it out, they still have the pitching. The Giants clobbered the Dodgers this evening. Hopefully they can get a win against one of their two aces this weekend. The Dodgers are a weird club, they have a ton of talent, but they don't really seem like a team. They do some terrible stuff on the field, really. I like the chances against them if the Giants meet them in a series.
  20. That's good to know, you have to assume Pillars of Eternity will manage similar numbers.
  21. Sah-ree I've never even noticed a post from you before this one, so you weren't really the target. But given your oversensitive reaction, I'm not really going to change my stance.
