  1. Hard to disagree with the tacky comment. Gaudy isn't a positive quality. It also just looks outdated.
  2. Why not just get an emulator, they're free and you have access to games that were Japan exclusive that have been fan translated. Because it is nowhere near as cool.
  3. Seems like an understatement.
  4. Nothing like explaining away the humor of a fun joke.
  5. Geez, it's like the White House exists in a vacuum and has no idea what type of tone should be taken at any time. That Puerto Rico stuff is just brutal.
  6. Sure, but it seems pretty bizarre to punish the dad.
  7. Ubisoft did the crowdfunding deal with Might & Magic X, I believe.
  8. I think you are just falling for clickbait journalism. I teach in liberal California and you can wear a cross, we have a Christian club on campus, and we do the pledge every day. But really all this stuff varies from school to school, district to district, and state to state. The great war on Christianity and Country is vastly overstated.
  9. Yeah, we do the pledge every day and you can wear an American flag shirt whenever you want. All of those examples are weird exceptions to the norm. Most of them are better examples of bungling administrations than any war on the American flag. That Infowars story is the best. I live next to that school. It's fake news at its finest.
  10. Thinking on it a bit longer, there is nothing wrong with seeing this protest as an insult to the flag and what it stands for. I've heard a lot of veterans voice their concerns that they fought for that symbol. I would never tell a Veteran that they are wrong to hold that opinion. That being said, I would also never tell a black person that they are wrong for protesting against racial inequalities. I've seen a lot of white people trying to explain that this is the wrong way to do it. They want these athletes fired or they want the NFL to make them stand. They want race and politics out of their sports. The President has joined in on that chorus. That sounds crazy to me. You are only strengthening the point these athletes have been making. The answer to a protest about oppression is not to oppress.
  11. Is it, though? John Carlos does not agree. I would have agreed with you until the President spoke out against it. When he basically said the NFL should force these men to stand, I realized how important it is that they have the freedom to kneel. I'm extremely impressed by the response of the owners and the league. That, much more than anything else, shows how far we've come since 1968.
  12. I disagree. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/mar/30/black-power-salute-1968-olympics Read the story.
  13. He did a bit more than call them weiners.
  14. Trump just might be a unifying force after all.
  15. Ah yes, it makes me feel much better to know these guys aren't carrying Nazi flags. Just another frat out on the town! This looks like a friendly protest group:
  16. Hoonding is always on the cutting edge with his reviews.
  17. I believe Lone Wolf is for people that choose to play without companions.
  18. So far it is pretty close to my GotY. It's almost October, so I don't think it is too early.
  19. It makes me sick. I'm not alone, either, it is a huge problem with the whole concept. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/virtual-reality-has-motion-sickness-problem
  20. Excellent point! Thought all Catholics were trad though All 1.2 Billion of them? Hardly. I doubt Pope Francis even qualifies.
  21. When this whole knee thing started, I thought it was dumb and Kapepernick needed to focus on becoming a decent player again. After the President's comments, I find myself completely in support of those who take the knee and am fully rooting for them. Strange how that works. edit: Because it clearly worked. He made a major impact by taking that knee.
  22. I don't know about that, the game is plenty playable. The nice thing is there is quite a bit of replay value, so the second time you play you will get a smoother experience with some nice fixes.
  23. I believe a prerequisite of running an Irish pub is that you need to be ancient. Netflix had a good documentary on the subject, called The Irish Pub. But yes, Guinness is not fresh in the US. That may change soon, however: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/31/diageo-opening-guinness-brewery-in-us.html A good bar is likely to have better local options, and a bad bar won't know how to treat the lines or pour the beer.
  24. Guinness Draught is notoriously bad in the US.
  25. Today a co-worker encouraged the ladies of the staff to use the deodorizer's in the bathroom via email. I chimed in that the men should continue as they were, as the shallow gasps needed serve as a stark reminder of how wonderful life is outside of the bathroom.
