You did WHAT Today
Already done! Actually my leg hair has been worn away from decades of wearing hockey shin guards, so I do have that as an edge.

Yep, I voted Martian Memorandum, so I'm glad that one made it.

You did WHAT Today
That's only about 1600 yards. It sounds long, but really it is just about 30-45 minutes of steady pacing. That's about 2-3 minutes every 100 yards. I kind of see the swim as the easiest to train because there is little wear and tear on the body. It's strictly about building up the endurance to maintain the pace (access to a pool is another matter.) The bike is the hardest for me. I mean, I know how to ride a bike, but I have no idea about all this strategy stuff and I barely understand how my bike works. There are a lot of gears and places to put my hands.

You did WHAT Today
So I've locked down my Triathlon schedule for the year. I've got a Duathlon in March which should be pretty simple. It is a 2-mile run, 10 mile bike, and then another 2-mile run. I could do that tomorrow, but the key will be to train so my second run time is decent after rubbery bike legs. Then in May I do a Sprint Triathlon, and the biggest hurdle there should be making sure I get in the pool enough to not die in the swim. In July I want to be ready for an Olympic Triathlon, so I figure the first two events will prepare me well.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - 'NON-FAKE-NEWS EDITION'
Everything in moderation, I suppose. I mean, introducing something risky like a cheese grater into your sex life is only an issue if it takes over your life.

Not entirely sure myself, though I think VI was also released as III, whereas you voted for IV. I might have just messed up my numbers again like I did with HoMM. Stupid roman numerals.

What's on the idiot box?
Jean Claude Van Johnson is ludicrous and fantastic. I can't wait to see HUCK in theaters.

With the crazy numbering issues that early Final Fantasy games have, I do wonder if FFVI was the one I was thinking of...ah well. I tried to vote for the one with the Opera.

The Obsidian Community all-time top 106 games - FULL RESULTS!
I think it is pretty amazing that there are only 106 that made the cut. It means we will have some heavy hitters at the top.

The NHL Thread
Yeah, I paid $105 a ticket for down behind the Knights goalie for 2 periods. The prices just didn't budge.

Movies You've Seen (or would like to see) Recently
Huh, well I love Star Wars and I have really enjoyed sharing it with my kids. I was a bit puzzled by Episode 8, but it was still a fun flick and I look forward to the conclusion.

I convinced my wife to watch it by making the Alien Nation reference, so you are in good company.

The Obsidian Community all-time top 106 games (poll) - CLOSED! See new thread for results
I feel bad that I didn't vote for Monkey Island and move it up the list. I think algroth might want to start a new thread or two for this thing. It's very awesome though, good job.

Loot Haul Xmas 2017?
I am hoping to get a Specialized Road Bike, but realistically I expect some decent headphones.

What are you playing now
You can always play on easy. Larian always loses me in the 2nd act. But I enjoy the 1st act enough to keep buying.

NFL 2017-2018 Season

You did WHAT Today
Today my 7-year old son asked for a sandwich, and I told him to make it himself. After a bit of discussion, it became clear that we have been pampering our youngest for too long. I walked him into the kitchen and went over the process. His dexterity with a butter knife is terrible. This is a kid that can handle a mouse and keyboard for gaming and can play ice hockey, so the capability is there, but with a Grandma, big sister, and mom all making him whatever he wants, he has put no time in. So I explained in video game terms that he needs to grind out some dexterity points and starting making a couple sandwiches a day.

Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas everybody. Our family Christmas Eve plans fell through since the host is sick, so we will be spending the evening at home making enchiladas, and I plan on cracking open my Goose Island Bourbon Country Stout. Then I've got a few things to build in the middle of the night.
