RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - NOW IN 5$ LOOT BOXES
I like the concept, but I think I'd get bored after about an hour. Which says a lot about that C+ I received in Art Appreciation class back in the day.

I don't see the problem. And that is the problem.

The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread
The impression I get is that most of these online courses are being taught by people that are barely qualified. I've taken a few. Of course, they are typically easy A's and you are just paying for a few extra credits to boost your resume, rather than actual academically challenging classes.

You did WHAT Today
I feel like something happened to this thread, because I don't remember reading the last couple days either. Glad to hear your wife is ok Shady. I took my new bike in for a tune-up because it was dropping gears. I've also got a bruised knee and hip and it is hurting my training, but I did run a PR for a 5k yesterday. It helped that students were running the 400 meter while I was doing it and I kept trying to keep them from passing me.

The Political Quinceañera Thread
If it was a typo, the boast that they could afford a Costco membership wouldn't make sense. I would say a hack or a lousu aide makes more sense.

I have a hard time believing Paul Ryan would tweet that out. That would be tremendously tone deaf. $1.50 a week is a pittance.

What are you playing right now?
Going to give the Far Harbor expansion a try in Fallout 4 and go in with a more open mind about the action crafting game that they have turned it into.

Probably a typical overcorrection for generations of repression. It will even out over time.

The Movie Thread Returns
Futile and Stupid Gesture - Pretty interesting biography, had me hitting up the internet for me info since most of the stuff was a bit before my time. It didn't paint Chevy Chase in a very good light, that's for sure. Worth a watch if you want to know more about National Lampoon.

Timberlake put in a solid show. That Prince tribute was fantastic, I admit I teared up a bit. Nice moment for the greatest musician ever in his home town.

All the Literature and Reading Stuff...
Yep, the KIndle has basically tripled my reading. The fact that I can go looking for all sorts of strange genre books on any topic is pretty great. Still, I am bummed that there are a number of books that still haven't been released on the Kindle. Also I don't get how magazines are often more expensive on the KIndle than they are if you subscribe to the print edition.

What's on the idiot box?
So I've been trying to watch Battlestar Galactica. I'm near the end of the first season. The lack of actual science fiction elements bothers me greatly. I'm more of a Stargate guy where there is a fair amount of explanation for everything, but right now in BSG there is just a lot of space magic. People make really dumb decisions all over the place. Does it get better? Is it worth continuing?

Nerdgasm: Movies and Shows for Geeks and Nerds
I love Guns of Navarrone. I also found Rogue One's character to be very memorable and interesting, so I like the parallel.
