  1. Elex seems easier with a controller. Also the dialogue is terribad. But so far it's got some pretty cool stuff, definitely gives me the vibe I got when I played Risen for the first time.
  2. Rooting hard for Houston. Verlander did his job, now the bullpen needs to finish.
  3. They fill my feed with all sorts of cool brewing inventions, so I'm ok with it.
  4. That was a crazy final zero seconds.
  5. You goofballs convinced me to buy Elex, so now I am downloading that.
  6. Well in this case that doesn't apply as it's fiction. But generally, not really, as if they decide they don't want to study a play, they can. You can't very well insist they provide a good reason for doing so to your satisfaction, as then you're in a glass house so to speak. And people decide to not study many of his plays for whatever reason - we skipped Tempest, Titus, Midsummer, I'm sure other schools skipped the ones we did. This sort of situation is still far from the hill to die on. On the internet, no hill is too small to die on.
  7. I will always remember how the crowd cheered in Independence Day when the dog made it to safety as all the other people died in the tunnel. I can't handle kids dying in books or films. It just puts a pit in my stomach. Big reason I won't see It.
  8. Well we don't have to **** foot around anything, because it's clear what your hesitation is related to. It's funny because of the unfortunate merging of themes in an innocuous happenstance. Don't tell me you think the joke is in confirming stereotypes? It's in the dramatic irony of a classic gag taking on an unintended layers, and the misfortune of the accident. I'm missing context here. I see a guy pretending to pick something up off the floor and then he drops something for real. I assume the punchline as is to do with whatever he drops, but I can't tell what it is. I legit laughed out load, so your confusion was literally with what the joke even is. I thought your concern was it being in poor taste. This seems like a pretty good lesson about assumptions.
  9. If I remember correctly, quite a bit changed at EA as a result of those reports. It is in their best interest to attract talent, and that sort of reputation makes it difficult to do so.
  10. One positive aspect of the terrible grind that many AAA developers seem to employ is that in a lot of ways it is responsible for the indie gaming renaissance we are currently in. People don't mind hard work. Far from it. But if you are going to sacrifice your health and sanity, it is much more rewarding to do so for something you own than a corporate behemoth. Unfortunately the risks are much greater in that regard, but so are the rewards.
  11. Arent movie rating specifically gated by age? See, at a certain age that we are consider adults (18 in the US) and thus able to view whatever we choose. They have a little box with all of the reasons why the movies is rated at that age.
  12. Well, I can't root for the Dodgers, and I don't really want to root for the Yankees. I guess I can hope they both lose?
  13. And that's why all you wrote can be thrown out. Funny coming from a guy that spends way too much time commenting on the US.
  14. *Insert French joke here*
  15. You can always count on Sharpie to throw in the "kids these days!" argument. http://ambitious.com/the-younger-generation-has-been-ruining-the-world-since-forever/
  16. I am waiting on those Star Trek Holorooms.
  17. Seems like there is a pretty decent sized chasm between polite conversation on the street and catcalling.
  18. In the recent Spider-Man, they had crates full of all of the Avenger's equipment, so I would guess there are a lot of those shields. But then again, it's just a fun comic book universe and we shouldn't look too hard at the man behind the curtain. ;-)
  19. Isn't Trey Parker and Matt Stone still writing the stuff though? Not a surprise that the developer failed to implement it as well as Obsidian, but the overall tone should be set by the creators, I would think.
  20. It's also just a waste of time. We have a vetting process in place already. This whole extreme vetting thing is just silly posturing. Where is the evidence that this will do anything to increase security?
  21. Pretty sure San Andreas is based on the Los Angeles region, namely Compton. The best way to understand San Francisco is to meld Dirty Harry with You've Got Mail. Kind of a When Dirty Harry Met Sally sort of thing.
  22. It's also billions of dollars in devastation, which I would think would be Trump's language.
  23. Blade Runner 2049 was easily the best movie I have seen in a number of years, and Ryan Gosling is the best actor of his generation. I love the first Blade Runner, but I never got to sit in a theater and experience it like I did with 2049. I am extremely happy I was able to experience it that way. Go see it.
  24. I think braces will cost me a few thousand dollars.
  25. According to my most recent pay stub, my employer paid $2000 last month and I paid $883. I also contributed $106 to Medicare. What a racket. I still get medical bills as well. Heck, basic dental work for the kids costs me a few hundred dollars every 6 months.
