Movies you have seen lately
That scene did make me think of Transformers, but mostly how crappy that movie was compared to Iron Man. I really liked Iron Man, I mean you cut an origin story a little more slack, but all and all it stood pretty well on its own. Jeff Bridges did an interesting job in his role, he seemed to act the part right out of the Nick Nolte hand book which gave his character a suitably vile impression. I really like it when a director can work himself into a film tastefully I think he accomplished that without taking you out of the film. The special effects are typical LucasArts work. I guess I'll try and take advantage of my town's $5.50 matinee and see how well it stands up to a second viewing.

Food Thread!
a vidalia onion vinegarette salad dressing is a pretty good base to start your bar-b-que sauce. From there the usual tomato, worcestershire, and brown sugar also unfortunately alot of butter 2-3 sticks for a medium sauce pan, is essential. You then sort of season to taste, another essential could be dried sweet red peppers

Books
I'm reading this: http://www.amazon.com/Areas-My-Expertise-J...n/dp/0525949089 Its definitely light reading, sometimes its seems to be insanely funny while other times it falls flat. I was reluctant to embrace "PC" on his own merits since those apple commercials sometimes make me laugh and I'm in no way comfortable with that. I heard this podcast the other day where he was relating this story about how suddenly people would recognize him and basically act nuts and ask him insane questions and he would have to grope for replies to things he had no earthly idea why anyone would say. Finally it occurred to him that these people were a little starstruck and that it was them looking for approval and not vice versa. I guess it was the type of story only someone of minor celebrity can really pull off and sound in earnest.

For us Yanks..
My friend Stephen where going on about this awhile back, I was questioning if 100 cups of coffee would be a good investment until I realized I would be getting $600. Of course this is a tiny drop in the bucket when compared to my actual tax refund which will be secreted away in my offshore accounts as I have decided to become a good, wealthy american.

Atleast we didn't get into how Pink Floyd is nothing more then a novelty band in the vein of Phish or GWar or Kiss. They have about as much depth as a room filled with black light posters and back issues of High Times. Live from Pompeii is the ultimate insult to the band video done in earnest. US Supreme Court to Decide if Child Rapists May Be Executed
as cool as I am, it would be pretty boring if everyone was like me. I dunno, there is a side of me that feels a little like these people are simply products of man's past. Being predisposed to rape is also being somewhat predisposed to passing on your genetic material. Our past is one inwhich the most vicious have ruled and become the most prosperous and I don't see it as unreasonable to think these people the product of that sort of selected breeding.
