  1. Well, the creator makes it clear that it no longer accepts Orlans. So I hope that helps make it less ****ed up for you.
  2. *crosses fingers hoping for dedicated weapon-summoning wizard subclass*
  3. And this **** is how you get bombs mailed to prominent left-wing politicians.
  4. I want Tyranny II, dammit. ****ing Paradox.
  5. Eder got really pissed at me for threatening a dudes pet wolf once.
  6. "There were sequences where Eothas talked about how things worked before the Engwithans and why the destruction of the machine at Ukaizo would have the extreme consequences he describes. These sequences felt like they disrupted the pacing of the conversations and they didn’t seem strictly necessary." --Josh Sawyer https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/174058952291/so-is-the-idea-that-before-the-wheel
  7. It is a strange feeling to mourn the passing of ones enemy, and having honorable enemies is a blessing all it's own. John McCain was a relic of a different time. He was conservative, but never "a conservative". He never stooped to racist, homophobic, or classist rhetoric to bolster his position. All of his positions came from a place of principle, where he truly believed in the rightness of what he was doing and that it was the best way to do it. He showed true bravery where it counts, not just under torture but under political and peer pressure as well. I always fiercely disagreed with his political viewpoints and fought against them, but I've always respected the man. The modern GOP has very little place for people like him, and that's a loss for them.
  8. I hate, hate, hate the Sigil of Death. Then again, I'm not a big fan of the "die at four red dots" mechanic as a whole. I feel like it doesn't have enough nuance to be interesting, artificially inflates the value of mechanics to a near requirement because traps cause injuries, and forces rest spamming because at three dots you either rest or virtually guarantee that character will go away.
  9. Just sent in a request for a modification that effects the injury system. :-D
  10. Didn't make sense not to learn from the past Your country gets rich but your people come last So much to learn, so much to know So what's wrong with searching to and fro? You'll never know your goals if you don't know where your from You'll never understand mansions if you don't know the slums Hey now, you're a scholar, get your tablet out and read Hey now, you're a chanter, get your phrases out and lead And all that's written is to know Only those who studied change the flow It's a dark place and they say it gets darker You're well armed now, wait till you get farther But the company men beg to differ Judging by the profit margins getting ever bigger The rope we walk is getting pretty narrow The tablet's getting close so go in the barrow My message is clear, what about yours? That's what we need so open up these doors
  11. Am I reading this right? Illusion doesn't even *have* a PL 9 spell? Or a PL 7 spell? Wow. That's just the worst.
  12. As a digital backer more of my pledge went towards Obsidian than physical backers because the physical rewards had to be bought by Obsidian, and physical backers got all the digital rewards anyway. Yes, complain that your rewards haven't been fulfilled, but don't claim you showed the most support, because you did not. We literally have, and are the only ones still waiting. Not here to here the muttering from you. Not here to hear you pretend superiority, either. You spent more; that doesn't mean you showed the most support. Just that you had the most wealth.
  13. In four playthroughs, no major bugs. My first playthrough had some issues with companion relationship progression, but nothing game-breaking.
  14. Well, turns out he goes...nowhere, if he leaves he's gone. SO I just reloaded and fought the Messenger again. Turns out Raven Darkholme is correct; Meteor Shower really makes short work of it lmao
  15. Ah, that explains that. I know I don't *need* Vatnir for the DLC, but I very much want him for narrative elements, I'd like to bring both him and Ydwin along to hear what they have to say. Thankfully the point where this all happened isn't terribly far in, so I'm just gonna restart and *not* expose them rofl
  16. Yes, and yes, I was in that hidden room with him, after the fight with the Messenger. He joined my party, I picked his class, then one of the Harbingers showed up and there was a conversation. I exposed him to the Harbinger, the Harbinger said something about Vatnir coming with him, I said "I still need him to show me the temple", and Vatnir said "You had your chance!" and stormed out. Then I got a notification to find him somewhere in Habinger's Retreat, but cannot locate him anywhere--least of all in the hidden room where this all went down.
  17. Yeah I could load that, but then I'd have to go through the fight with the Messenger again. Just frustrating, not impossible. Trying to figure out how to avoid that if I can lol
  18. Did you find the room to the right in the central building? (You need to find a switch to open it.) I didn't play it the same way you did, but that is where I would guess. I'm having the same problem, and no. That room is literally where the conversation where I exposed him happened, and he ran off *from*. He's not in that room, and I can't find him anywhere. Kinda pissed off, I had no idea he'd leave the party and there's no autosave from entering Harbingers Retreat after beating the Messenger.
  19. I pissed him off by accident, and didn't realize that was a possible companion recruiting moment, and also the game doesn't autosave when you enter the Harbingers Retreat, only when you leave--so the sum total of this cluster**** is that I'm now without the DLC companion and don't have a save after defeating the Messenger. Does Vatnir go anywhere specific in this instance? And is it possible to make peace with him and recruit him again?
  20. Ever since the last major patch. I was waiting for a new small patch to see if that fixed it, but it did not. Comes at random times; not predictable. Only happens with Pillars of Eternity II; never with any other game. What files do I need to upload?
  21. There are also instructions on Nexus Mods for how to edit your gamefile to the exact Mirke effect--that is, normal clothing when wearing clothing, but no underwear so you're completely naked when clothing is removed.
  22. Indeed, going by Steam figures alone (and while Steam is the largest distributor by far it is not the only one), Deadfire is selling pretty much exactly as well as isometric, mechanically intricate CRPGs tend to sell in the same span of time if they're even moderate successes. The game's been out for 3 months, people. That's nothing. Relax. Tyranny didn't fail economically. It didn't reach what Paradox expected it to sell at release. But 562k copies + GOG + whoever haven't even started the game yet is profitable for Paradox. The team wasn't huge and the game wasn't being worked on for years. And it was frankly pretty stupid of Paradox to have expectations as high as they did. Putting aside the question of whether it was any good, Tyranny combined awful marketing and a premise that put a lot of people (including me) off from the first. Tyranny is an *amazing* game and a lot of that "****ty premise" concept can be laid at the "awful marketing" angle. They sold it as "be as evil as you want in a world where evil won" when it's actually "explore what evil and belief are and how they tie together, and what choices can be made while a member of an evil regime". None of that was Obsidians fault, I think it terribly impacted the sales.
