Well it would enable shading the foreground differently from the background. Sounds like a less ****ty idea than bloom, depth of field, that horrible zoom blur effect don't know what it's called, and such.

Well you can have both. One does not preclude the other. I do imagine that quite a lot of people were thinking that they would not be able to run it and therefore might not even get it though. Now with all the stink about down grading they might.

I don't subscribe to conspiracy myself, but riddle me this : Is it possible that it's deliberate tactic to make mo money. In the sense that console sales are better per unit sold because of pricing and piracy and that it is not desirable to have the game compete with itself. Then in however many months come the texture packs and whatnot to keep the PC crowd happy. After they have gotten the launch bubble of console sales.

Don't worry about it would be my advice. Proof reading is real work and it's not particularly fulfilling either. I remember from when I had to do it on an MA thesis. Volounteers aren't going to magically appear.

Going to see it tomorrow. I have seen reviews of other films that turned out not to be the second comming of Christ despite being very close to 10/10 on IMDB. The scores tend do go down rather than up with time. Anyway 'don't believe the hype' is sound advice in any situation.

Reminds me of years ago vacationing in Crete. We had decided to swim towards an island visible from the tourist trap beach resort we were in because well, it was a challenge. The bottom was partially visible most of the way , seaweed and vegetation on the bottom and lots of.. shadows. At the mid point when the way back and the way forward was about the same distance someone decides to bring upo whether there were sharks in the miditerranean, being from the frozen north not something that was common knowledge. Entirely ruined the rest of that swim.

I suspect the same drama with Watch Dogs and actually it's just a very common part of development, scaling down when you are near the end to make sure it can run on a vararity of hardware. It is the fault of the consoles in the sense that they are the lowest common denominator, but it's hardly a conspiracy.
