Door slamming - with a twist
Woldan replied to Woldan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I had pretty much the same idea when I was writing the first post here, I was thinking about grease or smoke traps that can be quickly deployed and armed or a bag of caltrops that slow down your foes. -
Door slamming - with a twist
Woldan replied to Woldan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Damn, thats much better than my idea which involved teleporting rats... -
So, a question that just crossed my mind, will we have door-slamming in PE? Door slamming = Your party is critically wounded and the fight doesn't look good for you? Simply retreat to the next room and shut the door, the stupid AI wont be able to open it or they open it but you close the door again before anyone gets in (DAO) so you can heal everyone, cast protection spells etc.. That was possible in BG, BG2, IWD, IWD 2 and to an extend in DAO. Not that I ever used this tactic of course.... *cough* .... But here is the twist, a rogue or a mage should be able to lock doors to block enemies using magic or a specific skill (Mage: casting something like a rune of repulsion on the door) enemies with high strength like giants or beasts should be able to plow through doors that have been locked that way. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Sounds like a lot of fun, relaxing outdoors and fishing far away from civilization, it can't get much better than this.

@ LadyCrimson Sounds like we are both members of the white muscle fiber club. We' cant deny what we are, and thats lifters and sprinters, nothing wrong with that. When I started doing sports I always wanted to be an ultra-long distance runner or cyclist, I never wanted to be one of those boring bloated meatheads sitting in gyms doing dumbbell isolations all day long, but it turned out that I'm great at lifting and growing muscles while being barely average at endurance sports. Genetics rule over our lives, there is not much we can do about that.

Incredible song, love the build-up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3OIKylHqu0

60km isn't that much when you know people twice your age doing almost twice the distance. Its a matter of physique I guess, as a weight lifter I cant be a cyclist and visa-versa...which is pretty sad as I love cycling AND lifting. Wait, I need a couple of minutes to remember all the Full Metal Jacket quotes from drill sergeant Hartman.

Update #50: So... Project Eternity!

Oh, ok, thanks for the clarification. The facial features of the Aumauan concept and the godlike artwork are very similar though.- 248 replies

HIT (High intensity training) with my bike, did some 60 kilometers across extremely hilly terrain and now I'm completely trashed. A couple of times I almost passed out. 60 does not seem to be a lot but I'm heavy and I really don't have the physique of a professional cyclist. Overall a disappointing day, I thought I could do 80 easily.

Is she aumauan? Must've missed that tidbit of information. Regardless, Woldan, just grab those ears, bark "Giddy-up!", and hang on for a heck of a ride! Oh come on Tsuga, just look at her, those who protect & serve mother nature deserve our utmost respect and support. I just assumed she is Aumauan because of her nose and eyes, the other godlike concepts look pretty human.- 248 replies

I absolutely agree, this is armor made for high kings, arls and other medieval snobs, nothing a poor mid-level adventurer could ever afford, let alone need. Personally, I'm more of a fan of simple but functional armor.

Sadly he is not as fit as he used to be, he has severe diabetes now and the treatment is very difficult, he also has troubles walking and bad teeth which cannot be fixed due to his age. Putting him to sleep has crossed my mind more than once but on good days he is such a happy cat, he checks his territory, sunbathes, watches birds and demands belly massages every half hour. On bad days he is barely alive, that sad look in his eyes, like he knows.......... Me in the biggest shovel I've ever seen in person. (I'm 6'1'')

Thank you. I have tons of photos like that since I'm a passionate (fanatic) mountain climber.

Thats me. View from the third-highest mountain in my little country (3598m / 11800ft), the climb was extremely exhausting. My 20 year old cat.

I have grown to dislike *extremely* stereotypical characters that come from one of the standardized RPG character molds, just like... * Aerie * Morrigan * Leliana * Zevran * Isabella * Oghren * Merill There is nothing inherently wrong with creating stereotypical characters for games, but some of them have been done to death (and beyond) and I hope I will not see them again for at least a decade or two, neither in TV nor in computer games or in any other kind of media. The witty charming over-sexualized rogue with a hidden agenda / secret The insecure inexperienced shy pixie/elf mage The power hungry selfish cold semi-evil mage The typical axe swinging ale-gargling dwarf barbarian ...to name a few.

Did lots of gardening today, man, I had completely forgotten how exhausting digging a bunch of vegetable beds with a simple shovel is, one day of excessive gardening totally replaces biceps preacher curls, dumbbell butterflies, barbell rows and nose breaker triceps curls.

I think buying shirts for 15€ and getting them tailored for another 15 each would get expensive quick.

That was my line dammit. I know.
