Want to shoot your Ex? The NRA has a doll for that..
Woldan replied to alanschu's topic in Way Off-Topic
Hmm, I grew up with shotguns and hunting rifles in our home, I've even been out hunting countless times in my youth.. I've also went with my borther to the shooting range and tried firing pistols.. So there goes your argument I guess. So, why do you think its unsafe to have firearms in your home again? Did any kind of firearm-related accident happen?- 100 replies

I don't have a problem condemning gang raping 5 year old boys. I have never tried, seen in person, or experienced such a thing. Do you find that worrisome? No, what I find really worrisome is that you make absurd comparisons like this. I thought it goes without saying that the philosophy of ''Try it out before judging'' doesn't work with everything, but it certainly works with things like guns or sports. But you already knew that, so you only said that to annoy me. Why?- 100 replies

You know, I find people worrisome who judge and condemn things they have never tried, seen (in person) or experienced before. Oh well....- 100 replies

If you know how to operate a gun and follow the basic rules its impossible to get hurt by your own gun. Common sense is all that is required to reduce the danger to almost 0. However, you can do very little to reduce or control the danger of getting hurt or killed by home intruders, a gun being one of the few things that can definitely help you in such situations. There is also that situation with the fire extinguisher, its far more likely that you bang your head against a fire extinguisher breaking your nose than that you ever going to need it to extinguish an actual fire. But I bet most people would still want a fire extinguisher in their homes because when you need one you NEED one.- 100 replies

But I personally always worry more about the chance of a weapon in the house doing damage to my family than the extreme off chance that some lunatic breaks in. Then you better get rid of your car, remove all gasoline and lighters you might have stored, remove all knifes and pointy objects and disconnect your house from electricity. If you think a very simple easy to understand mechanical device is too dangerous for you and/or your family the things I mentioned will certainly lead to injury, destruction and death.- 100 replies

If you do some extensive endurance training like cycling or running your blood pressure will drop for a few hours and if you do it regularly it will drop permanently. I used to have high blood pressure when I was teenager, the best way to deal with it is not pills nor doctors, just get yourself a good endurance training routine and your blood pressure will drop. Heck, even cycling on a home trainer an hour / day will have a positive impact on your blood pressure. If you do sports and you suffer from high blood pressure its probably your diet, stay away from sugar, soft drinks and food with tons of carbohydrates in it, it makes your blood pressure and heart rate fluctuate like crazy. Just don't say its genetic and don't really care about it, high blood pressure ruins your arteries and especially your kidneys. A LOT of common 1. world health problems can be solved either via regular exercise or a healthier diet. Ooh.. I don't know why but this suddenly reminds me of that random animation I've seen a couple of years ago....

Are you sure? I can't really tell from the low-res pics (I certainly cant make out details of the bark or the shape of the leaves), but my first thought was that those trees looked like small Betula Papyrifera.
-
Me neither, but I guess thats because vacuum-sealed ammo is usually hidden and buried in the ground.
-
Those trees on the left side, those are birch trees right? My favorite plant, the combination of white bark and colorful leaves is always breathtakingly beautiful, it just never gets old.
-
Today I decided to make an exercise-break so I spent my free time to seal some ammo absolutely airtight for my SHTF backpack project using my food vacuumizer. The ammunition should still be in perfect condition after 200 years of lying at the bottom of the ocean. There is zero moisture inside and no way for moisture to get in.

Ha, same thing happened to me last Easter, found a box of old Lego, used it to build a contraption that spinned eggs so I could paint them (I'm really bad at painting eggs) It even had a 1:2.5 gear ratio. The egg shown here is a bad example though, the color was too dry, the other eggs looked splendid.

My sister and I going paparazzi on some poor mating toads. Yeah, we're a-holes like that. I just noticed, thats a really nice pair of legs there.

Armed with a 10kg hammer, some rope, a fire axe and a chainsaw I spent my free day helping a friend demolish and remove an old wooden ramshackle hut, boy that was some hard work. I stepped on a big nail, almost fell into a trash compactor, got nearly incapacitated by a falling roof, my arms look like I had an accident with a blender and my trousers are ripped to shreds. Also pulled a muscle in my neck when lifting a heavy wooden beam and I'm still removing wooden splinters from my hands. And all that for a ''thanks for the help''. ...though I have to say that smashing stuff with a huge hammer is way more fun than it should be.

Having lots of quests means its a world which is alive and where lots of work needs to be done. What is it that makes you think that the quests which are offered your character are the only quests in that world? You never really met other characters in an RPG who were on a holy mission or mercenaries who were paid to kill other NPCs etc? Those weren't quests for those characters?

I can totally relate, thats one of the reasons why I exercise really hard, it makes me so tired that even my brain wants to shut down, thats one of the rare times my body and my brain agree with each other. Thats pretty much the only thing that really helped me to fight severe insomnia, my brain almost never wants to shut down so I have to force it a little bit.

Druid Class
Woldan replied to AndreyPlatonov's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I remember in Icewind Dale there was this main character named Arundel in Kuldahar, he was pretty much the kind of druid you described, and I too want druids to be more like him instead of them being little else than a nature-clerics.
