  1. Some do, but I'm not sure that they ship overseas. I'm sure that there has to be something similar in the Euro-zone. You don't know until you ask - I'll send then an email if they ship their stuff to good ole EU, maybe I'm lucky. Thanks for the link!
  2. Old enough to whoop your ass. That is 24
  3. Don't get me even started with clothing, since I started lifting weights a couple of years ago I can't find clothes that fit me and I'm nowhere near the level of a professional body builder, heck, it wasn't easy before I started weight exercise. Just buy bigger sizes? Nope, shirts are either too long or they were designed for people with huge bellies. It boggles my mind why no one makes clothing for (hobby-) athletes. What I did today? I've been buying clothes, besides the size issue its getting increasingly hard to find stuff that looks halfway decent, skinny jeans and retro nerd style that makes me look like a 60 year old all over the place. Its ridiculous.
  4. Another Great Warknife. I love those blades. And a Renaissance short-sword, the Katzbalger: Landsknechts carried them as secondary weapons for close quarter combat when their Zweihänders became too long and cumbersome. Oh, and lets not forget the true medieval multi-purpose tool, the Mordaxt: Some versions of it had a blunt head instead of an axe-head, making it look more like a huge warhammer.
  5. If you want a functional armor you TOTALLY need a wasp waist, armor weighs a lot and some of the weight must be carried by the hips, you don't want to wear armor where your shoulders have to carry all the weight. Well, unless you have the back and spine of a professional deadlifter. Original armor with ''wasp waists''
  6. As people have already pointed out, armor was never skin tight, not even remotely. There is at least 5'' air space between the chest and the plate Armor, when you get hit with a blunt weapon the armor deforms and absorbs the energy instead of directly redirecting the force to your bones and breaking them. You also need some space so your chest can expand and you can breathe. Also, a knight with a completely dented chest plate that touches his chest cannot breathe, something to avoid during combat, and a popular tactic used against knights when using blunt weapons. So, with 5'' of air space most women should be able to wear the armor without any problems.- So, how do I want female breatsplates to look like in PE? Like any other standard breast plate. Examples:
  7. Early matchlock muskets weren't that great and effective, I remember reports say that most soldiers from Christopher Colombo's expeditions during the 1490's preferred the crossbow because it was so much faster to load, it wasn't affected by moisture and it had enough punch and accuracy to do the trick, even though firearms were available. Also they could only get off one shot before getting swarmed by angry natives because it took so long to load. Now in PE we're going to have mages that will be able to cast fireballs, magic missiles etc. no matter the weather conditions - just needing to carry book and waving hands. I don't see a renaissance of firearms coming anytime soon in PE's setting, unless said revolution brings heavy machine guns and cruise missiles.
  8. Even if they lack the infantry needed to support the tanks they still could have manned the heavy machine guns on top of the turrets of the T-72's; they're there for a reason. The reason is in tight urban areas the main gun of the tank can't aim high enough to take out insurgents armed with anti tank weaponry, and they cant see anything. The machine gun gunner can be used as an observer. They're little more than canned meat in those tanks blindly and very ineffectively firing into random buildings, they would definitely need infantry to take out the anti tank gunners and observers to give the tanks targets and to direct fire. Those tanks are still pretty cool though.
  9. Civil war and a destroyed infra structure, another country that falls victim to the ''Arabian spring'', I bet people will be happy and sing cumbaya all together once the war is over and the great dictatorship lies in ruins, just like in Egypt and Libya. Oh wait.....yeah, that didn't work out to well over there... And not really effective, though the few snipers and DM's in Assads troop seem to make a good job. Also the vids show that tanks without any kind of infantry are helpless in urban combat, the simply cant see sh!t there and get taken out by simple 70's recoilless rifles and RPGs. Tank without infantry support = baaad idea.
  10. Africa seems like childs play when compared to whats going on in Syria right now. Not for the faint of heart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SCNtfUcHVc&NR=1&feature=fvwp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx7nQLa7whA
  11. Does anyone here do sports or lift weights? Did some weight lifting today (today was chest & back day) and much to my surprise I could increase weight by 15lbs (its 295 lbs now, 10 reps, 3 stints) when doing barbell shoulder shrugs - and I thought I reached my limit. I could also increase weight by 10lbs doing barbell upright rows, now its 125 I think. Love barbell rows, its my favorite exercise. Weight lifting was pretty much the only thing I did today, well, besides daydreaming, thinking about better times and sitting around watching the grass grow. Simply a typical dreary Saturday.

  14. Went to the shooting range today and tried a few of my reloads in my precision rifle, all of them cut group sizes in half compared to commercial ammo, huge difference. Also annoyed the hell out of some fellow shooters with the apocalyptic muzzle blast of my rifle, gotta love muzzle brakes on high power rifles. My smallest group measured .4 at 100, 5 shots. Also practiced shooting my milsurp rifles from prone position at 100 with iron sights and standing unsupported at 50. Prone sucks big time, makes my elbows and neck hurt like hell.
  15. What is kind of strange to me is that Africa has always been in war, in war with itself, one could think that centuries of fighting would make people experienced skilled fighters, but it seems that even those in the military lack even the most common sense of a fighter like taking cover, aiming, and the most basic strategies. Odd. Absolutely. Think of what a single skilled disciplined designated marksman could do in a battlefield like that. It would be a damn turkey shoot.
  16. My favorite is the guy with the camo clothing presenting himself on the roof of a building in the middle a firefight wearing a fire-red bandanna. Genius. A close second place is the APC driving in circles firing into random buildings.
  17. Mali soldiers must be the worst fighters in the history of history.... [url=http://www.vice.com/ground-zero/mali
  18. I too like it, just look at the reflections on the uneven surfaces of the armors, amazing details, the painter is a true pro and seems to know how armors look & work. And yes, I'm a huge fan of pole arms, I hope there will be some in PE, maybe with some rules for the special advantages and disadvantages. Which leads me to the next picture /request, I'd like to see the Flemish Goedendag in PE. Whats a Goedendag you ask? Well, Goedendag is a Dutch word and means ''Good day'' (Other sources say its a mistranslation and the word meant something like ''Spiked club'') and the weapon is a neat spear/club hybrid which was a very effective multi functional weapon, especially against knights. It could be used as pike against cavalry, as blunt weapon against heavily armored opponents and as spear in formations. It was also a very simple easy to produce weapon. Flemish soldiers armed with Goedendags: I'd say repel is a better translation. Thats indeed a better translation!
