  1. Ah, the town artwork looks so....IE! When I first saw the picture it immediately reminded me of Beregost even though the layout and size is different. What I'd like to see in future updates? Hmm, what about some more weapons and armor artwork?
  2. Had to drive 320km to Czech republic today to pick up some parcels, the problem is I hate driving because it makes me incredibly sleepy, I had to fight to stay awake the whole trip. I'm sure that I'll die in a car accident one day because I feel asleep while driving which caused me to crash into a bunch of trees.
  3. The last time I was camping I was caught in the middle of an apocalyptic thunderstorm on a mountain top at 7800 ft / 2400m altitude, I'll never forget that night, one of the few times I was *really* scared. To give you an idea how it feels to be INSIDE a really potent thunderstorm at that altitude - imagine you're sitting in one of those WW1 trenches while getting bombarded with hundreds of 20cm shells for hours and you can do nothing but sit there and hope that you don't get hit. The rain was so heavy it got through the skin of my tent turning it into a greenhouse which destroyed one of my digital cameras and the lightning was so extreme it hurt my closed eyes. I still don't know what I did wrong but Thor was really pissed at me that day. However, next day I was rewarded with this extremely beautiful sunrise:
  4. What you don't want is a bi-polar bear. u_u That guy would be SO uncontrollable! I almost laughed.
  5. Ammo dump site in Iraq burning down and exploding, starts kinda slow but it gets pretty intense approx 50 sec in. And remote detonating 35 tons of old surplus ammo.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYKxwWZ-aRM&feature=player_embedded#!
  6. Anyone here afraid of spiders? No? Good!
  7. I can think of worse ways to waste my time.
  8. Have you ever watched feather-weight and welter weight boxing? Those boxers are really, really short. Why is that? Because they still have to pack muscles (weight) to be fast and strong, skinny lightweight people are bad even at lightweight boxing. Klitschko is just as fast as those small boxers, he looks slower because he is MUCH taller and bigger but in reality he moves just as fast. Bigger things always look slower than small things even when they're moving equally fast. Another reason why tall and bulky boxers seem slower is they pay more attention to their pacing, as weight goes up it gets more important to conserve energy so they don't move around as much as lightweight boxers. Bad argument, the worlds strongest man of 2012 is Žydrūnas Savickas, 6'3'' tall and weighs 390 lbs, a lot of that weight is -believe it or not-fat, which is a very common physique among strong man contenders. Also, those professional lifters have to have a very special physique if they want to be really competitive, they have short arms and short legs which helps a lot when lifting heavy weights. And thats not an ideal build for a sprinter. Thats Žydrūnas Savickas by the way... I think YOUR logic is flawed, I've shown you the fact that the quickest people on earth are very muscular weight lifters.
  9. You forgot that muscles are not dead weight, muscles is what moves the weight. For example for running you need lots of UPPER body strength as well, and muscles weigh a lot. Look at the 100m sprinters, some of them are huge and quite heavy, the have legs like logs and the physique of a heavy lifter (in fact, they ARE heavy lifters) yet they run 100m in less then 10 seconds. According to you really slim and light people should be perfect sprinters, but thats not true. Or watch heavy weight boxing, Klitschko is quite bulky and heavy, but he is lightning fast with his punches and dodges. Don't know about MMA, I've seen some fast big dudes there but of course normal physics don't apply anymore once you get to abnormally tall super roidheads like Bob Sapp or 7'1'' tall Hong Man Choi.
  10. You couldn't be more wrong, genetics play a huge role in a persons physique, if your genetics are bad in terms of muscle build you can exercise as hard as you want and you'd only get mediocre strength at best. You have much more red muscle fibers than white ones? Tough luck! And there is also frame size, wide shoulders and chest vs narrow shoulders chest etc which also play a role in a persons ability to lift and push. Genetics also play a role in muscle shape. A good example are Ethiopian runners, they'd make terrible bodybuilders because of their genetics, though they are world-class long distance runners. Of course its possible to get so muscular that you muscles get in your way, but thats not achievable without help in form of roids and food supplements. Usually its the other way around, weight lifting and strength exercises dramatically improve communication between limbs and the brain, you can increase your dexterity with strength training because it also trains the central nervous system and how muscles interact, especially with multi-joint and muscle exercises like deadlifts, bench pressing, front rows. Lots of muscles = slow and clumsy is a stupid old stereotype that has been proven wrong many times by professional athletes. That its still alive and kicking is pretty amazing, in a bad way.
  11. ....and when those Call of Duty kiddies see that artwork of Cadegund and her gun they'll invade the boards like the biblical locust swarm and demand PE to be turned into an action RPG with massive shootouts every two minutes. Oh wait, that didn't happen.... As long as the Dev's keep the romances tasteful, high quality and made for adults I don't see an invasion of fanatics invading this forum anytime soon.
  12. The test is indeed kind of wacky and tends to dramatically over exaggerate when an individual is a little bit better than average in certain things, but I partially disagree that high scores are caused by ''very healthy'' self esteem. I've been working out the past couple of years doing strength training and weight lifting 2 hours / day, I'm definitely much stronger than the average person but 20 strength isn't even achievable by an ordinary human - I mean, according to the rules (Last time I checked) an Ogre has 21. Though I can I assure you that any well trained weight lifter would easily score 18-20 in strength in that test. But thats complete missing the point, the test is meant to be fun, its clearly not based on the results of decades of hard scientific research.

Plays during one of my favorite movie scenes of all the time.
  14. The magic is strong in the Obsidian members, the vast majority is either a wizard or a sorcerer.... So, those who are wizards/sorcerers, are spell casters your preferred class to play in RPGs?
  15. Ok, I'll start:; Chaotic Neutral Half-Orc Fighter/Ranger (3rd Level) Ability Scores: Strength- 20 Dexterity- 16 Constitution- 17 Intelligence- 12 Wisdom- 13 Charisma- 14 Yeah I can't argue with that though I've always considered myself to be a tiny little bit smarter than 12. (At least I scored higher than Anomen & Minsc ) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral- A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society. Race: Half-Orcs are the short-tempered and sullen result of human and orc pairings. They would rather act than ponder and would rather fight than argue. They love simple pleasures, such as feasting, boasting, and wild dancing. They are an asset at the right sort of party, but not at the duchess's grand ball. Half-orcs are as tall as humans but their brutish features betray their lineage. They regard scars as tokens of pride and things of beauty. They rarely reach 75 years of age. Primary Class: Fighters- Fighters can be many things, from soldiers to criminal enforcers. Some see adventure as a way to get rich, while others use their skills to protect the innocent. Fighters have the best all-around fighting capabilities of the PC classes, and they are trained to use all standard weapons and armor. A fighter's rigorous martial training grants him many bonus feats as he progresses, and high-level fighters have access to special melee maneuvers and exotic weapons not available to any other character. Secondary Class: Rangers- Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.
  16. The off topic section was totally missing the ''What D&D character are you and what are your stats'' test. So here it is: Klick this link, do the test & post your result or go to hell. You're welcome.

@ Bartimaeus I know you, that Avatar......you're the guy who uploaded all those of VNV Nation and Assemblage23 tracks on Youtube right? As a big A23 fan I'm frequently listening to your tracks, like right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XniYiuKIwQs&list=PLhxyl5KD_rIU7v36M-yH7zG-Rk1WlhvGn&index=60 Thanks for uploading all the great music.
  18. Definitely one of the top-ten funniest serial killers.
  19. That was one slow Saturday, minutes turned into hours, the weather was dreary and the sky was uniformly flat and gray, the colors where all gone; replaced by black and white, there was hardly any sound at all besides the sound of my heart pumping blood through my veins in slow-mo, the mesmerizing ticking of my wall clock and tiny raindrops hitting the windows. I stared out of the windows doing absolutely nothing, and absolutely nothing happened, it felt like being trapped in a surreal parallel universe. That was......awesome.

Their music is often too ''tuneless'' for me, though I like Regulator a lot. This thread needs more ambient industrial music:+
  21. I used a similar tactic in BG2, my rogue in stealth modus would open the door and check for enemies, then get back to the door, mage casts Otiluke's Resilient Sphere on him, then casts Stinking Cloud, Cloudkill and a few fireballs into the room. Fighters with bows and mages or priests with slings would volley-fire those still standing and/or trying to get past the rogue to death. And I like the idea with a strong party member blocking the door, though I would make all doors swing both ways to keep things simple.
