  1. I'm torn. Barbarians sound fun, but I like my melee people to carry shields because I like shields (because they can have colours and heraldry and can just really complete an ensemble) and barbarians don't really seem like a class that would rely heavily on shields. Then again, berserkers used shields, so why shouldn't barbarians? Probably because when I think 'barbarian' I think 'Arnold Schwarzenegger in a loincloth'.
  2. The Watcher's Council. Alternate answers: It's Watchers all the way down.
  3. I suddenly had this vision of the possibility to change part of your Stronghold into a bordello in order to get information. Information that you could also get other ways, because player options and whatnot, but still... you could employ a torturer, but why would you when you could hire a madam instead? Besides, think of the increased revenue. I don't think it's going to happen, but it was an amusing mental image.
  4. Quite possibly. Either that, or they become somehow very much affiliated with one. All we really know is that we (the main character) witness some key, supernatural event. Could be that that event has to do with souls/stuff only a Watcher can witness, and it just happens to be something really crazy (like... a soul that's somehow an anomaly, or some action being taken upon a soul that was previously thought to be impossible and that has dire ramifications, etc.). Or, it could be that we're not a Watcher, but witness the death of one, but are imparted with important information before that death occurs, that we must convey to someone else, OR ELSE! *Shrug*. I'm very curious to know exactly what it ends up being. I've wondered if that key, supernatural event that sets the plot in motion is becoming a Watcher (or perhaps that you become a Watcher because of it). I mean, there you are, just some person, maybe a guard or a merchant or something and then, suddenly, because of reasons you can see the lingering souls of the dead everywhere, the history of every place and every person laid out before you in some mystical, incomprehensible way. It'd be quite a shock, really.
  5. 'A couple of hours' is so frustratingly imprecise, especially when... But I've whined about timezones often enough already, actually. I'll see it when I see it.
  6. Because of time zone differences I'm never certain whether 'tomorrow' actually means 'tomorrow' or might mean 'today'. I'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
  7. Well, it's Wednesday morning, a little after 11:30 AM and still no update. Darn time zones always ruining everything.
  8. When it comes to Druids and pretty much every other class as well I'm much less interested in the pure mechanical functions and more into the lore stuff surrounding them. And in my experience, Druids so rarely get lore stuff - at least when compared to nearly everybody else. I guess I can understand why - Druids (and Rangers I suppose) tend to stand outside the society the whole narrative is usually about so they stand outside the narrative as well. So while I'm OK with the idea that Druids unlock a second spriritshift form when they reach Level 5 or whatever, what I hope for is that they unlock additional spiritshift forms by performing some kind of special Druid quests for Druids that go into what Druids are and what they do and what they believe and their role in society and place in the world and all that jazz.
  9. The Druid seems about what I expected and I expected to play Druid. So that's good. That stag form looks pretty awesome as well. But, I gotta admit, I'll probably take wolf first because werewolves. The Garden of Life spell really jumped out at me. Talk about adding insult to injury.
  10. Since I intend to play a Godlike Druid first time through, the Earth Godlike seems like the obvious choice, so clearly I can't pick that one. But maybe there's a God of Cities or Mining out there for me to pick.
  11. This is a great update and all, but it does leave me with an important question. What does Frermàs mes Canc Suolias mean? And how does one pronounce it?
  12. I'm going to be rolling as a Druid first. Race I'm not entirely sure of yet, but I'm leaning towards Godlike in the hopes that might get me some neat roleplaying opportunities.
  13. I'll probably just roll with the canon companions unless I need someone to fill a specific role ('lockpicker', say) and the only ones capable of fulfilling that role are completely insufferable. I don't expect this to happen, but you never know.
  14. Zombies happened. Over and over again. Now any undead that's still corporeal is either a shambling zombie or a sexy vampire. Overexposure has robbed both these creatures of their horror because the familiar is rarely frightening. Skeletons? Well, they're just zombies without skin. Mummies are zombies wrapped in bandages. And ghouls are just zombies.
  15. I can only hope CCP has finally decided that it's probably important to keep White Wolf and/or World of Darkness alive in the popular consciousness if they ever want their MMO to be anything other than a giant money sink. Beyond that frankly unrealistic hope I've got a bunch of other unrealistic hopes. Like an X-Men RPG that's actually an RPG because Legends wasn't really.
  16. I don't much care for cape colour, but I really would like to have some kind of coat of arms to go with my Stronghold. Some kind of symbol to say "This is who I am and also this is all mine".
  17. The RPS site is constantly throwing up errors. I think they may have some issues.
  18. Hmm. I don't know what I'll do. I pledged to Eternity because I really enjoy Obsidian games and wanted to throw some of my support their way. And get my name in the credits for a videogame, even if my name is going to be one small obscure one in the middle of a crowded list. So now that I've done that, I'm not sure how eager I'll be to give them even more of my money. The first they sold me by being Obsidian. The second they'll have to sell me on the concept. And 'generic fantasy' isn't going to cut it this time, I think. Though 'generic vampire' probably would cause me to open my wallet because of my undying love for Bloodlines.
  19. I really enjoyed reading that PC World interview. You should do more of those. Because I'm sure they don't take up a lot of time that could be better spent making/polishing the game. No, but seriously, that was a fun interview.
  20. Good to know. So it's just the site then. In that case I think I'll just try again later.
  21. Same here. Yup. I hope this is because the site's getting hammered or something and not because I'm a weird foreigner with a weird foreign phone number.
  22. So glad the second big city isn't all brick and mortar and stone. It's nice to have a bit of variety.
  23. She has feathers. Around her eyes. I wonder how annoying those would be when it's raining or even just when blinking. Or when getting a haircut.
  24. So. Druids. They can change into animals apparently. But I want to know if you already know which animals. Also, can Druids theoretically change into whatever animal they want (assuming there are multiple possibilities) or are they constrained to a single animal form?
