  1. Thanks for the insight. But how do I get the book? A tiny spoiler would be ok.
  2. My playthrough has been on hiatus for several months now. Currently it is somewhere in the middle of the game. Will I be missing something out when I get back to it?
  3. PoE1: because it is more cliche, and I'm a sucker for cliche fantasy, somehow I was just more commited
  4. Well, you know what they say: the tongue always turns to the aching tooth iykwim
  5. I'm worried that I will not have time to play this.
  6. Souls of the killed presumably go back to the Wheel. Souls of the wichts, now this is tricky, and would like to know this as well. The body already has a soul of an animal inside, so it either (1) bounces off and goes back to the Wheel as well, (2) or it pushes the animal soul away and you get a Mowgli type person, (3) or sticks to the animal soul and you get a ravaging wild two-soul creature thingy.
  7. The gods are semi-real. Their origin is just not divine but artificial. Take them as super powerful entities made by kith. You believe in God? Say that it turns out there in fact exists a God, but he was a mechanical contraption all along. Sure, he exists and does his thing, but for you, as a believer, this most probably will be a serious blow in everything you believed in. So the Eora gods prefer to keep things as they are. Ondra is the goddess of forgetting stuff, so it suits her agenda to get rid of the last people with ties to the so called god-creation-process. Also, vide point 2 above. Abydon didn't stop the *entire* moon from falling. Years later Engwithans died out becuase there were few and far between, so you could say they just got extinct. Thaos is Woedica's favoured, he got special treatment from her. You can do so by not pledging to any of them and remain without a boon. But if it is the "what to do with souls" choice you are refering to, well, there are 11 gods in the pantheon, so it seems whatever your choice there will always be a god that will be happy with the outcome. Guess taking the power of the souls for yourself would be just too OP.
  8. This is even bigger then the 12 (thus 24) hour watch found in PoE1, in a world with 27 hours in a day.
  9. Real time was really nice, specially considered all those ambushes resulting in a massive shootout extravaganza.
  10. I think the *real* consequences is for the player to feel sorry that by your actions Vela is a youth wasting miserable junkie.
  11. Ligatures are ok, they are just too uncommon, should be more. e.g. Aedyr should be Ædyr
  12. Berath's Blessing: Get to play with a 6 character party... and then PoE1 starts.
  13. The quote "No sleep for the watcher" means that being a watcher makes you mad. Adaryc was only a watcher, afraid of becoming mad. Maerwald was both a watcher and awakened, gone mad. Aloth is only awakened, not mad.

  15. Pillars of Eternity is owned by Dark Rock Industries Limited. Dark Rock Industries Limited is a synonym for Black Isle, and it is a personal company of no other than Feargus Uquhart himself. Obsidian owns only the Project Eternity codename from the Kickstarter times. Why? Let's check the facts regarding all the games that Feargus or his buddies worked on: Infinity Engine games (BG, IwD, P:T) are in the hands of Atari Fallout is in the hands of Bethesda Arcanum went form Sierra to Activision Temple of Elemental Evil is in the hands of Atari Vampire is in the hands of Paradox Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was in LucasArts, but Disney shut it down Neverwinter Nights is in the hands of Atari, as other Forgotten Realms titles Alpha Protocol is in the hands of SEGA Pathfinder is in the hands of Paizo Dungeon Siege is in the hands of Square Enix South Park is in the hands of Ubisoft 20 years of gamedev and all of this great work gone to some other companies. Most of them are not interested in doing anything with their franchise. Feargus Uquhart made this decision so Pillars would be safe in case of something went wrong in the future (as you know something DID GO wrong with Black Isle in the past). Feargus, you cheeky Black Isle Bastard I salute You
  16. Draconis was the grandkid of Bhaal. In my opinion BG3 would only make sense if you were to create a new character that is from the second generation. Gorion's Ward story is finished. BTW, my money is on InXile, because Brian Fargo is so smug about it.
  17. Still trending toward 130% https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/ceresgames/realms-beyond-ashes-of-the-fallen/
  18. You didn't read the FAQ on the Kickstarter, did you?
  19. I only ever backed 4 titles. This is the 5th. Just sayin'
