Absolutely: http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/enochvg/jerrah.jpg[/img Really, any football fan who doesn't hate Jerry Jones just hasn't been paying attention. I think hes great for the league. At least they got the attendance record. Heh, you got it in the bag with the Colts offence yet to play. Bastage. 0-2 for the season so far, ouch.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare

And with all respect to you, so what? Explain to me why that should affect my bank account? Where does this sense of entitlement come from in this country? "I dont want a big bill, someone else pay it". Well, I dont want a mortgage, someone else pay it. I dont want to drive a Hyundai, someone else buy me a Porche. College tuition! To hell with that, YOU pay to educate my kid. *deep breath* [/rant] EDIT: I feel I should point out that that rant wasnt aimed at you Tep, just "in general". -
This is how I play too. I am in a guild but thats only for what they can offer me and vice versa. I think the "lamers and griefers" thing is totally exaggerated. Ive literally been in thousands of pugs (Pick Up Groups) and rarely if ever run into those kinds of people. Of course, I also only play on a PvE server so Im sure a lot of that is mitigated.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare

I know, I was just being a bit silly. The point that gets my goat is everyone pissing and moaning that healthcare isnt free. Every single example starts with "they knew something was wrong but didnt want a bill". Not one person went to the doctor! What? So what were looking at isnt a deficiency in medical care, its a deficiency in common sense. -

40%? EDIT: Oh, I see what you are referrring to: Did you know that skydivers have a 100% higher risk of dying from rapid deceleration then non-skydivers? -

Right, because everything is free in "civilized" countries. Ill bet you 5 krones more people die every year from malnutrition and the effects of homelessness but they can just go piss on an electric fence, UHC is where its at baby! -

Lulz. Nothing like fabricating numbers to support a position. Lifes a biatch. Heres some more random accidental death that has nothing to do with nothing. -
I fire my minigun wildly into the crowd of peasants.

@Enoch: Can I get you another glass of Haterade? I think it would be cool if they can pull off the attendace record for an NFL game. They're up against a pretty tough record of 103K set in Azteca Stadium in Mexico in 2005.

Because a game that lets you beat up BOTH is just super awesome. The big thing is, it's fun! Getting that subjective thing out of the way, it's fun managing the relationships with the natives, whether its in an exploitative (i.e. Spanish haha) way, or getting them to help you and help your settlements grow. Playing the game of cat and mouse, and getting all the advantages the natives had against you, while fighting the national army after declaring independence is also fun. Scoring big and finding that mountain range with lots of silver, only to have to decide between the 7% increase in tax or having a "Silver Party" is one of those frustrating "**** you" moments, but in a good way. What I meant was, post 3 and 4 indicatate that the unpleasant subject matter drives them away from that expansion. Why is that any more unpleasant that anything else? Was just curious.

Im curious, whats the difference between beating up on computer generated Europeans and beating up on computer generated Native Americans that has you guys so squeamish?

Well as you know, boss buffs are unyoinkable (Spellsteal) and they are also immune to Counterspell.

Yeah, you should read their replies to posters on the DA boards. Its all about how smarmy they can be first, actual useful answers a distant second.

Ive really enjoyed the first two episodes but I missed it last night, thank god for DVR's. That woman who plays the cheerleader coach (also in Two and a half Man and 40 Year Old Virgin) just slays me every time with her delivery.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
Gfted1 replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yeah, I see where youre going but....at the end of the day, regardless of who makes what, the bottom line is the total bring home monies of our combined salaries is reduced by 26%, no? For example, I make 100K / year and she makes 100K / year, for a combined total of 200K. Right. Now apply an additional 13% tax to each. That doesnt equal a total reduction of 26%? Im not purposely being a knucklehead here, Im genuinely confused. -

Huh? To fund UHC, models show it would take a 13% increase in taxes for every working person in the country. So, theoretically, my paycheck would decrease by 13% as would my wifes, for an overall 26% reduction in our total take home monies. -
C'mon guys, isnt it obvious. LoF is Eddo36.

Hehe, while I dont understand why Im wrong Im willing to concede that I probably am. Math was never my strong suit. Anyone willing to splain to me how two individuals suffering a 13% decrease EACH does not equal 26% total? -

See, this right here, this is exactly what I mean. This has nothing to do with point of view. This is just rationalising it to yourself to make it seem like they are somehow lesser people that don't deserve your support. Just makes you look like you're trying to convince yourself more than anyone else. Im not rationalizing anything. While I dont feel they are "lesser" people, they absolutely do not deserve my forced support at the expence of my family. Period. Go die in a ditch for all I care. With your line of thinking I should also be forced to feed all the homeless too right? Damn whatever negative effects it has on my family right? Give me a good reason why I should suffer an over one-quarter reduction to my families income for someone else. -

I pay nothing. 100% of my medical and dental are paid by the company. Although I dont get vision insurance. I suppose someone else should pay for that. See, I dont even understand this mentality. Like we have to "stick it to the man" because he makes more then me? What? *sigh* Maybe some day you will be able to see a pov different from yours. So far, all models Ive seen predict a 13% increase in taxes for all workers to pay for this UHC. Not 13% per family, 13% per person. That equates to a 26% decrease (both my wife and I work) in my families disposable income. I can not absorb a 26% decrease without significant negative consequences to my way of life. Why? So Joe A-Hole can get a free ride? Screw that. It makes me want to stab him in the face myself so at least I can have the satisfaction of seeing my money at work. -

I fall squarely into this category. Why the hell should my standard of living decrease because I have to support someone elses healthcare? I understand the European pov, you guys dont know the difference. You were born and raised in the support-me-from-the-cradle-to-the-grave mentality. Its your whole life. Its like asking a blind man what a sunset looks like, he doesnt know. Believe me, I too would have loved to roll off my mothers teat and right onto the governments. Spend the next 50-60 year potificating before strolling off to retirement. Im truly jealous, but thats not how it is here and its not my f-ing problem you (not you) dont have insurance. -
