  1. Not for long, soon we'll all be paying for your shrink.
  2. I don't think the Republicans "hide it better"; I seem to recall (although specifics escape my hazy memory at this time) a number of instances where Republican backed bills that was unpopular enough with the other side resulted in a dissection of the "backroom deals" and "riders" on a bill. I think its mostly about how angry passage of a bill makes the other side (can we get a viable third party now? Or do away with the party system entirely? kplsthnxbai). Yes, of course there are always backroom deals. The Republicans had a real stinker of one during the Bush administration regarding Medicare/Medicaid. Thats not the point. The point is: 1) Poking holes in KK ridiculous pie-in-the-sky idea that this was passed for mom and country. 2) The bill only passed by 7 votes. Without these deals not even enough Democrats would have voted to pass it! And that makes the whole think stink to hell. If a bill cant pass on its own merits, its ok to buy the votes? Are you people insane?
  3. A very small organization that you may recall has been credited with swinging Massachusetts out of a 40+ year stranglehold held by the Democrats. While its too late to put this genie back in the bottle, it will be delicious to see how badly the Dems get gutted in the midterms.
  4. Well see, he left out one minor detail of having to have surgery and having a titanium rod placed in his leg from knee to ankle.
  5. WooHoo:
  6. This TRILLION dollar taxation has to be paying for something. What is it? Standards and exchanges dont cost a TRILLION dollars. So, what it will do it completely subsidize those that cant pay. Where will these people go for heathcare? To the clinics/hospitals that have been strong-armed into accepting whatever amount the goverment deems it will pay. Hell yeah, sounds dreamy. Hopefully they also understand that charity shouldnt be forced.
  7. Heh, I am. I expect people to live within their means and not become a burden to me due to them being lazy/getting a bum hand in life/being stupid. Lifes a b1tch, deal with it and stop coming to me with your hand out. The only glimmer of hope I see is reigning in runaway medical costs. Of course, my government will screw the pooch on this and the entire thing will blow up in our faces and cost us 2x/3x/4x the projected cost while at the same time driving our world leading medical research out of the country. IMO, we need to be ready for a significant drop in our standards of medical care now that we will have to cater to the lowest common denominator, namely whoever is offering the cheapest deal to the government.
  8. Lol. One more TRILLION dollar program isnt going to break us? Ok, if you say so. Psst, we just spent a TRILLION dollars last year bailing everyone out. Maybe we can cool our jets until we can, you know, afford it? Um, thats a bummer? How, exactly, should it be my problem to pay off your broke leg? Stupid people do stupid things? I once read a story about a guy who liked to live with Grizzly bears. They ate him.
  9. Huge step forward...to socialism.
  10. Nope. Born and raised here to a lower middle class single working mother with no healthcare. Unbelieveably, I didnt wither and die in the street.
  11. Trotting out your examples of people dying in the ER again? Yes, sometimes stuff happens, but thats the exception not the norm. Whoa whoa, hold up, so you will not if fact wither and die in the street? So it seems we've finally narrowed this down to the point. People dont want to pay for their own elective medical services and that should somehow become societies burden.
  12. Its like you and Killian share a brain or something. For the thousanth time, nobody withers and dies due to lack of healthcare. It is illegal to refuse healthcare to anyone who shows up at any public hospital in the country. What people want to avoid is the bill for those services. "Pay for resources I consumed!?!? F-that! Someone else should pay it for me! IM ENTITLED!"
  13. Ah, I see, you think Im Republican and therefore object for that reason. Thats not the case, I hate stupid ideas no matter who generates them. And fyi, 100% of the Republicas voted against this bill. Whatever, thats their problem, not mine.
  14. Such a sad, sad, day. Now you still don't have proper healthcare, but you're slightly closer to having a system as effective as every other Western country's. Woe is you. Yes, at the cost of 1,000,000,000,000.00 in taxes. And of course this wont become a gigantic boondoggle which spirals into three times that cost because my government has such an excellent history of managing giant finacial projects such as Social Security, which btw, will be bankrupt before I ever get the chance to collect a penny of it. All so I can have the privlege of supporting someone else at the detriment of my own standard of living. YAY USA!
  15. Thats a spoof site right, like The Onion? Its got to be with statements like this:

Id never make it as a vegetarian, I just love meat too much. FFS, my spaghetti sauce alone has a pound of ground beef in it.
