Rome: Total Realism
I still havent met an opponent that could take four archer auxilia and three heavy onagers. Theres barely anything left for the legions to mop up when the barrage is over

Medieval: Total War II
It looks fantastic, and Ill probably enjoy it immensly. I still wish they would have done a game set in the 16-1700's with the thirty years war and fabulous muskets and guns and sea battles with pirates )

Rome: Total Realism
In my game I took Ghaul and Spain as the Julii, the other houses advanced towards the balkans and africa with lightning speed so I didnt have a chance. It works quite well to go around with a fleet-based army and capture isolated rebelling cities around the mediterranean though, although theyre impossible to defend once the civil war breaks out.

Televisions
Is that with any rear projection TV or the newer HD models? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anything with a projector needs a big fat lamp which will burn out eventually. I know Ive heard of a rear-projection tv that uses LED light instead. But I would stay away from them anyway, bloody hassle.

Televisions
PLASMA: + Its just the best technology for large-screen TV rigt now - expensive LCD: + Cheap - Will only display crisp images at its native resolution, which means most things will look like crap since neither DVD's or HDTV is 1366 x 768 which is a common LCD n-res. - Viewing angle problems Rear-projection / Projector: + Large screen for little money - The image may be a bit blurry - The lamps are friggin EXPENSIVE!!!!! with daily viewing, youll have to change the lamp every 8months or so and they might cost more than $500 edit: I have an LCD tv btw, and although its easy to move around, the image of a plasma or regular tv kicks its flat ass.

A lead designer on PNJ became a NWN2 forum mod.
It points towards PNJ being cancelled, yes. The forums were removed, then SEGA came along and OE is now most likely devoting half their crew to that project.

Neverwinter Nights: Darkness over Daggerford
Ive got a big problem. I play a Wizard and I need a fighter henchman but the one you can recruit in the beginning just vanished when I told her to wait when I had to go stealth for a while. Now I get my ass handed to me in every fight.

Surveillance Issues
I dont know about voice-to-text for computers but I do know that if you, for instance, write "Ayman Al-Zawahiri" or "ammonium nitrate" in an email or messenger, that email will likely be logged in whatever Echelon-like database your country is connected to. Which is a system that was hyped back in the late 90's but is in reality completely ineffective due to the enourmous amounts of crap they need to wade through in order to find anything real.

NWN2 in the Mainstream media
Sorry if the translation isnt that sharp. Im a wee bit tipsy ) It's just some journalist intern who thinks hes a Gaming Guru because he got an Xbox when he turned 18. This reminds me of when I was in first grade (1987) and the newspaper came to our school and did a special on us firstgraders. But then when I looked in the paper the following day, not only was it a bad photo and theyd spelled my name all wrong.. but the photo was obviously from the mid-1970's Other times when Ive been in the paper, theyve not only spelled the name wrong, but it isnt my name to begin with! -What did you say your name was again? -Kaftan Barlast. -Ok. *takes notes* Mr.. Willfred.. Honeyboffle.

Iranian Nuclear Program and the U.S.
Yes, and so should you, Canardian. But yet you insist on remaining neutral... you're hiding something. Possibly Communism.

Iranian Nuclear Program and the U.S.
Israel have had nukes for atleast 20 years. But it cant be denied that the fewer nations with access to nuclear weapons, the better. As for Iran, it doesnt matter that they may have the right to defend themselves or the right to enrich uranium for use in powerplants. They cannot under any circumstances be trusted with this technology. Not only are they ruled by religious fanatics, but theyre also the worlds largest sponsor of Islamic terrorism.

Is dual-screen more demanding on the GFX?
Is it really rendering the two screens separately in clone mode? Isnt it just a question of sending exactly the same signal to both screens at one? Kind of like if you put a T-connector on the wire?

The Comicbook thread Pt. IX
Awesome!! ) Star Trek is good, X-men is good... both at the same time is like orgasmic!!

Iranian Nuclear Program and the U.S.
I cant believe I missed this thread! To put it simply; the reason why western countries do not want Iran to have access to nuclear technology, is the same as why YOU dont want that psycho-boy in the back of the classroom to have a gun. You dont even want him to have a knife, even if itd be useful to him when he eats. (explanation: the gun is a metaphor for a nuke, and the knife is a metaphore for nuclear power used to generate electricity. useful as it may be, the "knife" can do great harm )

Is dual-screen more demanding on the GFX?
I have two monitors for "work" and when I play games I just turn one off so I wont be distracted or waste power. Now, running two monitors is just like splitting the signal, right? It doesnt increase the GPU load? My computer starts to run the fans harder when I play NWN now, it didnt use to do that I think.

Resumes and Cover Letters
Im currently studying Game Development at Uni in Sweden with focus on 3D graphics and animation (our education system is quite a bit different in that we dont have anything like a major etc. but rather you follow a pre-designed program of classes). Now the issue is that Starbreeze studios are hiring QA's now, and alot of people from my Uni already work there so I might have a good shot at getting a job. But Im thinking that it is far better to complete my degree( in Graphics first and then look for jobs in that field instead of trying the old work-your-way-up. What do you think?

NWN2 delayed until October
If it stutters with that kind of hardware, something is wrong with the engine. There is no point in designing a game that noone can play with max settings.

Lebanon vs Sudan
That is? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The simplest explanation is that the US has a large Jewish population that are both wealthy and influential. Isreals usefulness as a bridehead for US influence in the ME, is no longer a factor with the relationship between the conservatives and Saudi Arabia. Israel is now more of a liability than a useful ally, both economicly and politically.

Bioware Survey
The advantage of handhels games are that theyre simple enough to be developed by a very small team, no more than 10 people (and thats for a very advanced one, some sloppy timewaster for the DS could be done by 1-2 people) But CRPG's as a timewaster you play on the subway on your way to work? Nah, bad idea.
