PoE Lore, culture, history - Outstanding, Josh Sawyer!
ManifestedISO replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The Guidebook is world lore, strictly. The separate Strategy Guide won't be available until launch, I am quietly presuming. The text on animancy and undead, their history, even the bestiary, quite good.

New Real Time With Pause Dungeons & Dragons RPG - SWORD COAST LEGENDS
If you believe that PCG article, 5E rules are confirmed. To what extent, though ... Pretty sure the mid-1980s was the first time I desperately wanted to see a video game edition of table-top D&D ... I never thought there would be room for a digital Dungeon Master, my god, the future is awesome.

New Codex interview with the PoE dudes
No way, a gray Obsidian t-shirt with black lettering. I must have it. Please open that store.

What are you playing while waiting for PoE to come out?
Thought I was bored with Skyrim after 3.5 years and 750 hours, but I just rolled a pure mage dark elf and am having a literal blast fire-bolting anything and everything. Can't wait to see what the magic-user perks are all about. Feels weird wearing no armor.

Josh has this to say in the Foreword:

Seven Dragon Saga by Tactical Simulations Interactive (TSI) KS
Edit: Or I should just back it and stop crying like baby.

NOW I HAVE THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL Local comic shop had one copy. When the other one comes from Amazon, I'll have two, and be twice as awesome.

If a PoE2 Kickstarter was announced..
I love picturing Antonio Banderas, squinting, in a husky voice ... "A bad place ... to ask this questions ..." For sure I'll back the next Obsidian project.

Movies you've seen recently
Twenty years later and Braveheart delivers the goods. Sophie Marceau, my god.

Backer Beta Build 480 Portraits
It's such a cool design for my paladin, I don't want my paladin to be Karkarov, I want my paladin to be me. Please.

Petition : Make Looting functions optional.
I understand now, how easy it is to become emotionally incensed when faced with a perceived slight. I'm starting a petition to ban the use of Pillars of Eternity portraits as Obsidian forum avatars. I am not unserious, it ruins immersion, because every time I go to choose that portrait for a character in-game, all I can see is the identity of that forum poster. I don't want to be someone else, I want to be me.

Backer Beta Build 480 Portraits
Should be damned illegal to use a PoE portrait for a forum avatar. What happens when I go to use it for a character, but I can't because it just makes me think, oh, that's so-and-so. Damned illegal, I say.

Does PoE overheat?
I swear they just changed the Recommended Requirements for PoE on Steam, doubling the RAM and changing the GPU to a 7700 and 570. Can't remember what it was yesterday, but it wasn't a 7700. *They totally did, there's a post in the community hub about it. Also minimum specs were changed.

What you did today
My nutbag next-door neighbor is proof meth will FUBAR a brain's chemistry ... but LSD is comparatively safe. Shouldn't mix it with alcohol though (qualitatively, I mean).

White People: What They Say in Public vs Behind Closed Doors
I met a German couple in uptown, the gentleman was serious, but long-suffering, quiet, cordial. Pretty great chef. She was a carefully contained riot. I laughed so much I was forced to remark that I thought Germans could never be this funny. Like I mean hilarious in an emotionally gratifying way. She even later asked in a platonic, well-met tone, was it possible for random encounters to produce genuine connections. I said absolutely.
