  1. Did you surprise her with anything. From a store, I mean.
  2. Oh, far richer than Ferelden or Tamriel or Waterdeep. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70932-guidebook-v1-in-my-hands-right-now/?p=1582777
  3. I understand now, how easy it is to become emotionally incensed when faced with a perceived slight. I'm starting a petition to ban the use of Pillars of Eternity portraits as Obsidian forum avatars. I am not unserious, it ruins immersion, because every time I go to choose that portrait for a character in-game, all I can see is the identity of that forum poster. I don't want to be someone else, I want to be me.
  4. Should be damned illegal to use a PoE portrait for a forum avatar. What happens when I go to use it for a character, but I can't because it just makes me think, oh, that's so-and-so. Damned illegal, I say.
  5. I swear they just changed the Recommended Requirements for PoE on Steam, doubling the RAM and changing the GPU to a 7700 and 570. Can't remember what it was yesterday, but it wasn't a 7700. *They totally did, there's a post in the community hub about it. Also minimum specs were changed.
  6. That is interesting. Except it means I live in Morocco ... which explains why it was 90º today, in mid-March. That's 32ºC in real-life Morocco I'm guessing, a brisk, cool day.
  7. My nutbag next-door neighbor is proof meth will FUBAR a brain's chemistry ... but LSD is comparatively safe. Shouldn't mix it with alcohol though (qualitatively, I mean).
  8. The meatballs, yes.
  9. I met a German couple in uptown, the gentleman was serious, but long-suffering, quiet, cordial. Pretty great chef. She was a carefully contained riot. I laughed so much I was forced to remark that I thought Germans could never be this funny. Like I mean hilarious in an emotionally gratifying way. She even later asked in a platonic, well-met tone, was it possible for random encounters to produce genuine connections. I said absolutely.
  10. Sorry, double post. I'm not seeing double, I was just incorrect ... I didn't "settle" for Newcastle Brown at all. It's delightfully malt-based, satisfying my inner and outer working-class Northerner.
  11. I don't know, but it was pretty exciting to see a big amphibious assault ship sail into the harbor, today. It came all the way from the south-west horizon, past Point Loma, around North Island, passing by downtown toward Naval Base San Diego. I thought it was a full-on presidential-class carrier at first, but it appears to have been the USS America, LHA-6.
  12. All is not lost. But it is expensive. Locally enthusiastic brewer Ballast Point makes a scottish ale, but in 22oz bottles at cinco dollars a pop. For the main course of twelve I settled for Newcastle Brown Ale, but, I mean, it'll never wear a kilt properly. What is it about the malt that I love and why is it so rare.
  13. The one field of study I have a doctoral degree in practice.
  14. I ... know, I took another look at the KS and couldn't find the love, just a little confusion and trepidation on my part.
  15. I literally drank a Zima at the end-of-tour bar at the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado in 1993. I literally said out loud to a female companion, "I could drink this all day." I was mistaken. I was also newly 21, so, you know.
  16. I just told the Update 91 thread I would back this game, but a second look at the Kickstarter page makes me think half-a-million dollars is beyond the stars.
  17. I was on the fence about Seven Dragon Saga, but if Obsidian tells me to back it, I will back it hard. Thanks for updating. Can't wait to play solitaire with Pillars of Eternity playing cards while wearing an Obsidian t-shirt. I always knew I'd be cool someday.
  18. Hey, who are you calling a degenerate. It is painful and rewarding to roll a thousand times and finally get an 18(00). Such dedication, you don't even mind when the Girdle of Frost Giant Strength shows up.
  19. The author has an unruly drawer full of cables. My unruly drawer is an old box from a keyboard/mouse combo ... every cable from 1999 is probably in there. I heard a scuffle once, I think an IDE cable went fisticuffs with a FireWire. Type-C sounds cool, a little too close to Hep C, and I'll miss the sexy initials of HDMI, but, whatevs delivs the powah.
  20. Not Project CARS, delayed a third time to May, thanks to me, putting my fingers to my temples and wishing, please, Slightly Mad Studios, delay your racing sim so I can play PoE the entire month of April. Really I don't mind.
  21. My dealer ran out The grocery store beer aisle doesn't stock scotch ale anymore. Seasonal, or something. Not a bad substitute, Blue Moon Mountain Abbey Ale, "select roasted malts, a hint of Belgian sugar, and a touch of wheat for a rich, caramel flavor and a wonderfully smooth toffee finish."
  22. Sounds strange ... a 7970 struggling with Wasteland 2. My vanilla 2GB 7850 barely breaks a sweat. Even the archaic Llano quad-core doesn't complain.
