Tried a new whiskey, Old Camp, developed by two dudes from Florida and Georgia and some line. Was okay neat, slightly better with a cube. In the end, tonight's episode of Supergirl was the best television I'd ever seen--Kevin Sorbo and Teri Hatcher upcoming teaser roles notwithstanding.

What's that cat in a box both dead and alive at the same time--that's my PoE backer achievement. The physical box pledge wasn't available when the game released, so I had to get a non-backer digital copy in order to play at launch. Now the achievement just sits there in the queue, unclaimed, taunting me.

one of those days ... the whole year, really. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdF0YcNpS7s

After Bobby Null outed himself as a virulent and genuine though misinformed Star Wars nerd during the Deadfire stream, I was morally obligated to watch Episode VII and confirm his assertion Rogue One is better. Broadly now I agree, but specifically all I could see were Carrie's scenes and I just lost it.

To this day the only half-orc to earn an MFA from Berkeley, if I remember, which now admits only six humans per year to that program, from 200 applicants. Orc and half-orc admission data is strangely difficult to research.

You're kidding me, I just watched Contact not ten minutes ago. Jodie Foster, so good, pensive and passionate in the same instant, eyes more blue than what's his name Frodo. Speaking of the Shire, Peter Jackson and Weta Digital are also credited. I thought The Frighteners and Fellowship were their first forays.

Ground Zeroes on PSN super sale. Gave me that old-fashioned frustrated feeling, where you take one hand off the controller and look down, or up at the ceiling, or anywhere but the Mission Failed screen. But only a few times--it's actually mostly fun, if incredibly short, as the stand-alone prologue to the brilliant Phantom Pain. Tactical infiltration with barely a handful of weapons. Have to work hard to suspend disbelief, though, the setting is a Marines-occupied installation in 1974 Cuba, occasionally forcing the player to use lethal force during side-ops.

Spent the morning twenty miles inland. Would never have known a crippling drought reigned for a decade. Avocado orchards, citrus trees, grape vines, patches of green, shallow depressions filled with ... water. Was beautiful, old-Mediterranean verdant.

Tuesday they just released DS9 on disc, first time since the original release in 2003. At this rate, I will have backed 'What We Left Behind', Deadfire, and DS9 on DVD, but I won't be able to back the electricity bill to watch them all. Priorities.

All this time, my favorite clearly American-English-speaking murder-bot on Agents of SHIELD, Aida, has been portrayed by a native Australian! Mallory Jansen, on tonight's episode, the writers gave her a new role ... a terminally ill human murder-bot Aida-template named Agnes, who is a dying yet indomitable Aussie. It was an incredible transformation, best episode this season, maybe of the last two or three years. Also, Agent Vasquez back on Super G! Secondary characters, woo!
