  1. I DO. Rarely, aside from the (mostly purely RP-reason) Drinking of Eder and some others, but I could do without. They simply do not last long enough to be worth the effort (cant use them in a pinch, and rarely you know ahead of a figght that you`ll need them). So yeah...not the most exciting or welld esigned "foodstuff" I must say. ^^
  2. While I am all for a reintroduction of a way to actively improve Accuracy, I am against using perception as its only generator. Splitting it between 3 Attributes (for cc, ranged and magic) should not be harder at all, and if the bonus is small enough /say +1acc per 2 points above 10 or so) the overall impact on builds should not be too huge (but positive overall due to making choices count more). A respecc in any case is a good idea, after all we dont want everybody to cry over "crapped Characters" do we? My Deflectionmaxxed Paladin with perception 19 for example would be a wee bit ... miffed. ^^
  3. That would be the best Solution lore/RP-wise, yes. I doubt it`ll come to that, but I would very much prefer this path. On general: I agree with the OP: Spiritforms need (a little to mediocre) nerf early on and scaling increases during levelups, eventually with some more (good) Shapechanger feats. If it was up to me I`d make the form at will, scratch casting while changed (or at least limit it, but scratching is easier) with some feats to differentiate them. For example: Civilized Spiritform: All non-armor-non-weapon-item-bonuses work while shifted. vs. Primal Spirit-Form: No Item Bonuses at all, including no use of food/Potions, work while shifted, but Might, Accuracy and Damage receive a Bonus (say +10-20%ish?) and you regenerate 1% of Endurance per 3 Seconds. As well as feats improving the (hopefully a bit more different) unique Form Bonuses. As is the Spiritform seems like an afterthought, like "Oh, we forgot to add Shapshifting, lets make some forms, and be done with it". Which is a shame, really.
  4. Nah, Belkars not sadistic. With one or 2 exceptions maybe. Cruel and (especially) Agressive, thats him.
  5. Seems pretty inconsistant for me as well. Mostly its around one Game Day, but sometimes one rest (with a total of less than 12 hours) somewhere in the wilds is enough to cancel them.
  6. Give Pathfinder a go then. Its mostly optimized, debugged 3.5 with FAR fewer exploits. @ OP: Then I`d suggest going Legends of the Sword Coast.
  7. Of course it can be adapted. The question is: Why? As I see it there are 3 valid reasons for doing so, in order of "makes sense to me": 1.: You want to play PoE in a Pen and Paper Group. An Adaption to the D&D 5 System is easy, the CLasses can be adapted simply, the Lore and World need not be touched. Probably going to try such a thing for one of my groups, although we vastly prefer Pathfinder to D&D 4, and as far as I`ve seen it so far, 5. 2.: You like the Lore a lot, but do not really like the System and want to PC-Adapt the Ruleset. Not as easy, as it involves (re)programming an entire Game, but given the obvious Flaws/Design Choices not everybody likes, understandeable. May or may not happen. 3.: You are a hardcore Forgotten Realms Fan who wants the Classes and Combat System of PoE (the Game) in the D&D Setting. Not going to happen, alas. Adapting D&D Worlds to other Game Systems alm0ost always ends in Desaster (believe me, my group and I tried, its just TOO interwoven with the CLasses and mechanics on a fundamental level, after the Change its ... just not what you might have wanted any longer.) the 4th Option of "Kicking everything and just making a D&D Clone that looks like PoE" is so wrong on soo many ways that I wont talk about it. Summing up: Its possible, but depending on what kind of adaption you want EXACTLY its ... difficult and unlikely. So
  8. Hmmm, since you actually show the exact opposite profile to me regarding the Games you mentioned (only thing that made NWN 1 worth it, in my opinion, was Expansion 2, which was simply epic), and I am more or less THE Player type targetted by this Game (BG1+ Player, liked them all, loved ToB and Planescape Torment (despite the crappy Rule implementation in it^^) and likes tactical approaches and detailed control of the party), I`d say: Try it, but dont buy it yet. It is probably not really up your alley.
  9. Sigh.... Troll is trolling. Not to say that PoE does not have its ... flaws, both if viewed as inofficial "new BG" and as its own Game (and some of them, like the incredibly boring encounters 90% of the time for example, or bad Talent balance, or MinMax Heaven that is attributes are not close to making me "rage"), but none of the ones mentioned in this abysmal post are among them. As we say in Germany: "setzen, 6!"
  10. If you do "Subquests", ergo take the longer/more torough path, you usually get more XP, or some Money, or Items. But as far as I can tell (Act 2) its not MUCH.
  11. Dang, and I hoped that there WAS a reason to go for a Ranger now..... I just cannot get the Picture of a (restatted of course^^) Wolf Companion holding down an Enemy an ripping its throat out while his master dual wields Pistols slightly behind and blazes away out of my head....
  12. That he is. Either I really was blind last timne, or he actually only is there at certain times (which I doubt). Thanks.
  13. OK, so I am doing smaller Quests in Defiance Bay, and Final Act wants you to speak to three people. The one called Osy, who is supposed to be visiting a Whorehouse (Salty Mast) in Ondras Gift is simply ... nowhere in Ondras Gift. I walked through that area 3 times yesterday evening. Nowhere any Osys. Am I just blind? is he somewhere else?
  14. Well, they`re not all equally ugly, unless of course you ahve an aversion to strange colors and headforms that extends to evarything in that area. They just kill the mood of some Builds (Moon Godlike for example look laugheable as anything trying to look intimidating^^). @for the OP: My one Monk Try that I did not instantly abandon was that Combo as well. ^^
  15. Sooo, I just hit Level 3 with my newly built Dualwielding Barbarian, and I am not too satisfied so far (maxxed Str and Dex, using Cloth Armor, did not drop anything below 8 ). He just doesnt seem to be as devestating as I had hoped. (my other Try with a 2Hander worked better) Now I know that One Stands Alone makes this path EXTREMELY powerful once you reach lvl 5 yet ... the consensus seems to be this ability will receive a HEAVY Nerf with the next patch. So let me ask you "Barbarian-Users" with more experience: Is the Dual Wield Barbarian still valid if one stands alone is "mostly gone"? Necessary Infos: Difficulty: hard, will be using at least 1-2 Story Companions (probably Kana and/or Durance). Thanks in advance.
  16. Interesting Idea. Gonna throw in my concept too, if you dont mind. "Tiona" or "Tiona, Cursed by the Ancients" if one is aiming for a more ... themed name. Concept: "Barbarian on a "ridiculous Quest" (eg they just sent her off because she was obviously destined for it , see below). to save the Tribe ... and failed that Quest. Has tried to redeem herself in the eyes of her Ancestors ever since ... with very mixed success. While she managed to battle various old enemies of the tribe (and since she`s still alive, won) she failed abymsally on everything regarding actually helping her tribe, and is as such banished. Personality: I`ll use the Ingame reputation Types: Rational, passionate, agressive. (yes, the conflicts intentional). She tends to use force first and second, unless someone reminds her of the ... more intelligent and long-term solutions. So while she is not "evil" a very deeply rooted recklessness and readyness for Violence are central. If one looks deeper yous ee the despair taking root due to her failure of achieving what she is meant to achieve. Look: Tallish, well muscled but also not unattractive (proportionwise at least, see below). Some Scarring required due to Lifestyle. Race: Death Godlike (sleeker Variant) Culture: Living Lands Stats: Might 18, Con 10, Dex 16, Perception 8, Intelligence 17, Resolve 9. Level to Join: around 4 ( as she has had some adventures of her own). Barbarian Talents: Rage and Greater Rage Other Talents: Weapon Fokus Adventurer, one that fits otherwise (I`d go for boosting accuracy but I always do that with Barbarians ^^). Skills: Atheltics, followed by Lore. Since she wants to be sublte but mostly fails at it I suggest 1 in Stealth. Unique Equipment: "Sunderer of the Weak": Exceptional Poleaxe, that adds +5% Sllash Damage but reduces Perception by 2.
  17. Not in every word, no. We Germans do like ,our ... "spelling reforms" to be as illogical and incomplete as possible while still in total being "progress". ^^
  18. Which is not Areadamage, but Multitarget-damage. Bounce is all nice and good, but not what was asked 8that would be something like an exploding Arrow, or one with acid in a container that splashes or something alike).
  19. It would not necessarily break the Game, but it would break the Barbarian. Mood of the class is, as you say, close combat carnage. I would not be against a limited area Effect attack Mode (or even only a 3-4 times/Encounter Activation) for the Ranger though. He needs it. ^^
  20. Glow and wave a lot? ^^ More serious: the "6 of one, half a dozen of the other" Variant seems fun in general. If Iw as to do a fully constructed party I`d prbably go for 4 Barbarians and 2 Chanters. Allows for mucho mayhem and application of all necessary buff/Debuff chants + 2 Phantoms to help in a pinch.^^
